I wish I could start again. Anyone else feel the same?

I'm just no good at life. I wish I could try again.

Me too

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/08/2021 23:23

It's a horrible feeling isn't it?

OP posts:
Happenchance · 29/08/2021 23:24

Yep, I'd do everything different.

THisbackwithavengeance · 29/08/2021 23:29

Me too. If I think back about my life, I've made so many crap decisions and wasted so many opportunities.

People on these sorts of threads always say they wouldn't do anything differently and I envy them. Because there is very little I wouldn't change.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/08/2021 23:30

Ita scary isn't it. The one chance to do it.

OP posts:
KittenKong · 29/08/2021 23:31

But the future isn’t set though is it?

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/08/2021 23:32

No it isn't. But u can't get some things back

OP posts:
SomethingWycked · 29/08/2021 23:33

I'd love a do-over. I wouldn't change absolutely everything but I would change a few key decisions from over 20 years ago. I guess its easy with hindsight but I often wonder just how I ended up 'here'.

Anordinarymum · 29/08/2021 23:34

No but you can move forward and start new things. You can't live in the past because it's not a good way of living

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/08/2021 23:34

No you're right, it isn't

OP posts:
Bigbus · 29/08/2021 23:35

I feel bad because on paper my life looks good really but I have this terror that there are so many things I would have done differently and although the future isn’t set there are many responsibilities I can’t walk away from so it’s not set but it is limited.

Hobnobsandbroomstick · 29/08/2021 23:35

Read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.

But yes, I often feel like this. I wish I'd tried harder at school, thought my first degree through a bit more, not wasted time and energy on stupid men, saved more, travelled more etc. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/08/2021 23:35

I'm exactly the same

Mscarna · 29/08/2021 23:36

Life's a journey. Like groundhog day. Just keep living and learning.

mintiesforus · 29/08/2021 23:37

Yes me too. I have so many regrets, mainly due to in hindsight being apathetic and not trying hard enough so that I could have achieved much more. When I look back at my younger self I want to give myself a kick and say wise up etc, you only get one shot at life.

Hobnobsandbroomstick · 29/08/2021 23:39

I'm fairly sure it's normal to have some regrets, it's where the saying "youth is wasted on the young" comes from right?

...waiting for someone to come along and tell me that they have zero regrets WinkGrin

Anordinarymum · 29/08/2021 23:41

@DueyCheatemAndHow

No you're right, it isn't
If I could have someone wave a magic wand I would turn the clock back four years. I probably could not stop some of the things from happening anyway so it's best not to even go there.........
PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 29/08/2021 23:42

Yes. I'd love to start over but with the knowledge of this time round so I didn't make the mistakes again.. I've done nothing with my education, don't much like my life and I'm so lonely.

Blueleah · 29/08/2021 23:46

I would kill to have 20 years of my life back. I was naive and didn’t understand how the world worked, and if I had understood I’d have been able to climb the ladder that I fell off. I’d probably be successful by now. Yes I can get back on the ladder but I’m starting from the bottom and everyone else has a 20 year head start, I’ll never catch up.

WatchMyChops · 29/08/2021 23:50

All the time. If I could just turn back time…

FictionalCharacter · 29/08/2021 23:56

Totally. Now I’m older, too old to change a lot of things, I think about bad life decisions I’ve made and I do have regrets.

Ifyouarehappyandyouknowit21 · 30/08/2021 00:15

Nope.

It's what you do from here that counts.. xx

Hazelnutwhirl · 30/08/2021 00:26

Yep, would love to go back 20 years, I would change everything. I have messed up my life something age is making me painfully aware of.

ForgedInFire · 30/08/2021 00:44

Even going back one calendar month would make all the difference for me. I wish that was an option

MercyBooth · 30/08/2021 02:39

Im going through this at the moment. I want to go back 18 years.
