When do you personally think a tv series should have finished?

The last season of Once Upon A Time should not have happened.

It ended with a good ending in series 6, and then tried to do an entire new series with the same story line. Bad failure.

Glee. Although there are some good episodes when the original cast left for college, it should have finished after they won nationals and graduated high school.

Handmaids tale. I think it should have finished after series one.

Benidorm should have ended long before it did. They kept trying to revive it by bringing back past characters but it became painful to watch. I Don't think I made it to the end of the final series, actually!

Welshponyslave · 26/08/2021 12:10

The Walking Dead should have ended when the reached Alexandria.
A nice happy ending with a safe place to live.

Bells3032 · 26/08/2021 12:13

Agree about handmaids tale. Season 1 was enough...after that it turned into torture porn and i got bored.

Friends - probably the season where Emma was born.

Simpsons - about season 10.

Grey's anatomy - season 11 (derek's death)

Oh and the entire last season of Scrubs (med school) just completely forgetable

ScienceSensibility · 26/08/2021 12:16

Game of Thrones

Either should have had ten seasons to wrap everything properly, or finish after S6.

S7 was poor and S 8 was an execrable pile of crap which actually devalued everything that had come before.
I felt so sorry for the actors and brilliant production crew.

thelegohooverer · 26/08/2021 12:16

Fraser could have chopped out the middle seasons, but the last one was gold.

thenightsky · 26/08/2021 12:19

The last season of Line of Duty should not have been made.

leavesthataregreen · 26/08/2021 12:20

I agree Handmaid's Tale should have ended after series 1.

ThreeWitches · 26/08/2021 12:23

The Handmaids Tale should've ended with season 2. I have totally lost interest by 4.

Soubriquet · 26/08/2021 12:25

Game of thrones. Yes.

I watched it because I wanted to see how it ended but honestly I just wish it was ending already.

Benidorm after Mal died. The first few seasons were genuinely funny but after that it was just painful to watch them stuff characters I didn’t care about in every episode

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/08/2021 12:29

Agree with Once Upon a Time. Season 6 ended nicely..7 was just the same but with really bland versions with little chemistry.

Charmed..season 7 again nice ending.. sort of wrapped it up. 8 just added annoying characters and ran out of money so people got sent away for a bit

Amdone123 · 26/08/2021 12:29

@Bells3032, I agree with Friends. The earliest were so funny, iconic. I hated the last series and all the canned laughter, not to mention the daft story lines.

seasonalremarks · 26/08/2021 12:29

The Handmaid's Tale the final season was quite frankly ridiculous. Yes it should have finished after Season 2.

idontlikealdi · 26/08/2021 12:30

I had he misfortune to watch the remake of Gossip Girl last night, that should have been left well alone.

There are very very few series that improve past S1 imo.

Miarara · 26/08/2021 12:31

Game of Thrones the white walker episode was more of an ending than the actual ending.

Supernatural should have ended at the apocalypse.

Soubriquet · 26/08/2021 12:34

Supernatural is a hard one

I thought the quality during the time of the leviathans really ruined the series to the point where I didn’t watch it again for years

But I’ve recently dived back in and I’m glad I did because we get characters like Charlie and Rowena. However, whilst some episodes are brilliant and hilarious (dean talks to dogs…and let’s not forget the scooby doo crossover) it just doesn’t have the same energy. I’m about to watch season 15 just so I can see how it ends

Yes.

How to get away with murder. I've lost interest after season 2.

Most series that revolve a long term plot. It just gets too long and complicated.

justamomentplease · 26/08/2021 12:50

Bones should have ended 2 or 3 seasons earlier. It was brilliant but by the end it was cringe.

Also Dexter. I loved that but it got really silly by the end. I'll probably still watch the news series when it shows in the UK though!

happystory · 26/08/2021 12:53

The last episode of Friends tied everything up neatly but there were a couple of lacklustre seasons before that....

VladmirsPoutine · 26/08/2021 12:55

House shouldn't have gone on as long as it did. It was a great series but towards the end went a bit off key.

StCharlotte · 26/08/2021 13:00

Only Fools and Horses should have stopped before they got women. The first series was hilarious but I stopped watching by the end as it became sooo tedious. Talk about flogging a dead horse.

StCharlotte · 26/08/2021 13:00

Or better still when Grandad died.

Game of Thrones shouldn't have STARTED until GRRM finished the sixth book, minimum. As it was it pushed that back to the 32nd of never whilst doing a shite job of improvising due to the lack of material.
