It's the lady from the chutney threads. I read all her threads and kept up with her son being born and all the other things that happened and I often think of her and wonder if she's ok. He must be at least 8 by now

There was a 'where are they now' thread a while ago. She popped up under a new name as someone mentioned her, it sounds like she is happy and well.

DerAlteMann · 23/08/2021 01:28

Scots lady with purple hair on the Brave Babes threads. Hope she's doing well.

Guineapigbridge · 23/08/2021 01:37

I always loved ScottishMummy's posts. I think she quit MN a couple of years back but might still be here under a new guise (like me).

romdowa · 23/08/2021 01:40

I often think about the woman and her ducks! That thread has been one of my absolute favourites on here.

TheQueenOfTheNight · 23/08/2021 01:43

Dollydownunder- stuck in aus after emigrating with her husband, who then went onto have a second family and didn't want her leaving Aus with his kids.

Kanaloa · 23/08/2021 01:44

I remember a lady who was looking after a little baby born with drug dependency? Remember thinking on one hand it was so lovely she was doing it and on the other it was so sad it was needed.

Kanaloa · 23/08/2021 01:45

Might have been alcohol dependence in fact.

Whatwouldnanado · 23/08/2021 02:16

I recall the lady escaping from an abusive partner, using a bicycle to carry her things. Hope she's doing well.

This one? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/922821-drug-dependant-baby-advice-needed It's in Classics now. Just about the most uplifting yet saddest thread I've ever read on here.
Kanaloa · 23/08/2021 02:25

I didn’t know she had passed away 😢 I hope that baby is now a happy and healthy child flourishing with all the love they had in their early days.

Kanaloa · 23/08/2021 02:25

But yes, that’s the right thread.

Epponnee · 23/08/2021 02:28

Oh @Kanaloa that thread is one of my favourite, she was such a wonderful lady and so sad that she has since passed.

I always wonder about Ghostspirits (or something) and if she’s found some peace for her and her children

CliffsofMohair · 23/08/2021 03:11

@Epponnee I often think of Ghostie and her brood. I hope she is settled and happy. MN wasn’t always kind to her.

THATmamaofMANY · 23/08/2021 03:14

Oh yes, i remember Ghostspirit, she did get a hard time on here Sad

VirgilStarkwell · 23/08/2021 03:18

Birdie Friend woman. That stuff was so entertaining and interesting. Come back and tell us more please!

Froppysue · 23/08/2021 03:37

@BoreOfWhabylon I’m sitting in hospital right now with my poorly dd sleeping next to me. I’ve sat and read that thread and I’m now bawling my eyes out! What a wonderful woman she was, thank you for sharing the link Flowers

Goofers · 23/08/2021 03:45

@Rindercella. I hope she and her family are doing ok.

WaterIsBest · 23/08/2021 03:46

I will always remember the poster who asked for advice on here , she was a regular, had been around awhile

She was ill and was contemplating going to A&E,
People responded with ‘Dont go to A&E,
If your posting on here, You cant be that ill…

She died of sepsis

I always think about her when people post advice to not go to A&E.
Its very dangerous and i dont think it should be allowed

NiceGerbil · 23/08/2021 03:55

Dittany :)

I've no idea why but that has made me really sad. I neither knew the person nor the thread.
72WayTooCool · 23/08/2021 07:19

CatThiefKeith. Her stories were always so funny. I believe she died of meningitis a few years ago. So sad :(

endofthelinefinally · 23/08/2021 07:20

I have seen some awful advice on here, but also some good saves.
After a few years you get to know the sensible posters, but that isn't any help to the person needing help.

JimandPam · 23/08/2021 08:59

'Where Are They Now' if AIBU threads? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/4294692-where-are-they-now-if-aibu-threads

This thread has lots of interesting old posters with some popping in to say how they're doing

MedusasBadHairDay · 23/08/2021 09:10

I miss Riven, we used to chat on Twitter but lost contact (either when she left it or I did). She was lovely.

RosieLemonade · 23/08/2021 09:13

MN should ban threads asking about going to A and E or out of hours. 111 nearly always suggest seeing a medical professional. Why would randomers on MN know any better.
