Hospital food pics!

Anyone in hospital/been in hospital recently and has pictures of their meals? Let's compare!

Here's the roast dinner I was given when I was having DD last month. I couldn't cut the slices of beef with a knife and fork because I was breastfeeding and only had one arm free so I ate with my left hand Blush

And of course, the obligatory tea and toast.

I’ve only been in hospital once, aged 12. I had tea and toast the first night. The lunch on day 2 was a tasty clear broth followed by the best lasagne I’ve ever had! I remember it now.

I was in for 5 hours when DS1 was born so they just brought us up whatever prepacked sandwiches they could find, with a ridiculous aluminium tea pot that looked like it was from the war. I think I had about 12 cups of tea from it.

@OnlyToWin
That's such a shame it really is amazing

I got coffee and toast after I’d had surgery, @OnlyToWin - and to be honest, I wish I hadn’t bothered. I didn’t know it was possible to make inedible toast, without burning it, but this nurse managed it. It was ordinary sliced white bread, toasted to a decent level of brown-ness, but it was like boot leather. I was literally having to gnaw off bites of it, and even though it was buttered, that didn’t help it slip down.

I genuinely can’t imagine how he made toast like this - it is a real skill!

@Greenrubber Thanks 😊

Perhaps the myth is better than the reality! I don’t even really like toast in real life or even drink tea, but felt it was part of the contractual agreement of birth!!

I didn't get toast, a lovely cheese roll after birth that was recommend by the midwife at 3am because I hadn't eaten for 48 hours... She only let me have it if I promised to eat it slowly.. to hell with that!!! Best cheese roll ever!!

Talking of hospital food, I remember a scene in the Girl with a Dragon tattoo - actually it might have been from the second/third film. Anyway, she had "Brunswick Stew" which I think is actually American and very unappetising looking. I have seen it on a few hospital menus. Has anyone had it? The character got a doctor to get her a delivery of pizza!
