My husband likes them done...

Should this have annoyed me?
In salon for a facial (my choice cos my skin is messed up at the moment).

A lady getting her nails done just asked if she's come for a special occasion and she was like 'no my husband likes them done' jeez

It's the fact that it's manicures he likes. Very different to saying "oh I like your hair short it suits you" or whatever. What kind of husbands are bothered if nails are manicured or not?

Hair dressers and beauticians can be really annoying asking if your getting a treatment or your hair done for "something special". Maybe the woman just wanted to shut them up?? I hate being asked if I am getting my hair done because I am going out that night. No, I'm not. TBH I never get my hair done on the night I'm out because they don't/can't ever dry it properly. I have to do it again myself to get it right. I can't say that to them though. Or maybe she feels guilty spending money on herself so says it's for her husband?

I get my nails done for me - can’t say dh has ever really noticed when I’ve changed them. He likes long nails tho and prefers it if I keep them longer - nothing sinister about it he just like long nails (as does my son - mainly cause he likes to shove his nails down the back of them 🤦‍♀️) I normally cut them off when they start to break as soon as one goes they all go!

I like him with a beard - he has a lovely beard now, again nothing particularly weird about it 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn’t have thought twice about this comment.

I also like my toe nails done but hate my feet being touched so dh does them for me.

I think this might also be down the same vain as my husband going for his back waxed. I hate his hairy back. He doesn’t like it either to be fair and has it waxed every six weeks or so.

My husband wouldn’t want me fondling his manhood with dirty and ragged nails that looked like I had just dug myself out of a coal mine.

I dated a man who hated nail polish. I thought he was joking at first but he really disliked it.
French manicures were really in fashion at the time and I had them 'done' weekly. I don't think he ever realised they weren't my natural nails.

My nails are always beautifully manicured and painted, at home, by me, for free, every 4-5 days.

For me? Noooo... to piss off my sister in law who can’t paint nails for shit.

What an asinine comment.

My DP is clean shaven because I prefer him that way. He says he loves my long hair and would prefer me to keep it long if I could. I do keep it long because of him. But if I was inspired to get a buzz cut I would also do that.

Just because a partner finds something particularly attractive about you, it doesn’t make it abusive.

OP you sound very judgy. Find something else to get annoyed about and leave that woman alone. 🙄

Husband - ‘While you’re there you should have your bum hole bleached.’

I had an ex who thought that coloured nail varnish was only worn by whores. Only the palest pink would be acceptable and only then if they were naturally perfect, long and the pink was more of a glaze than a colour. He was also weird about feet in that only the most perfect women's feet should be seen and they should always be walking on tiptoe - a less than perfect foot was obscene in sandals and if a heel should touch the ground, he was genuinely furious that a woman wasn't 'walking properly'. fucking weird tosser

Strangely, that was the time that I most got into having my nails done. My favourites were baby blue with white polka dots and British Racing Green with gold glitter for Autumn.

I do some vanity stuff “for my husband” too… I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t worth it. What’s wrong with it? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Getting your nails done regularly is very expensive - by asking her if it was for a special occasion you are implying its a nice to have treat. There is a very real chance she likes to have them done regularly but doesn't want to look wasteful/boastful so puts it on her hubby who might also like them that way.
