I've had a letter from Santander to say I have q dormant Instant Saver account so I am heading into town to find out how much is in there.

Anyone want to help guess?

For background, I opened the account over 15 years ago and at that time was earning about £28k.

I drove a new car and saved up enough to travel the world, but what is left in this forgotten account.

Did I stash a cheeky grand. Or £100 to open it. Or is it empty or maybe containing £4.36.

I'm quite excited.

For those who are interested, I decided to buy school shoes out of money already allocated and blow my new found wealth on treats instead.

So far £35 on a much coveted hype hoodie for DS2.

I might go a luxurious bath oil.

That still leaves about £70. What shall I spend it on???? I have no idea!

The Caribbean will have to wait. I still have that stubborn 1/2 stone to lose after lockdown so maybe it wasn't meant to be. Just yet anyway.

Just sorting out my late father's estate. My sister and I got excited when NS&I said that he held previously unknown premium bonds. The letter today has informed me that he held £5 worth, which has been deposited into my bank account and informing that the amount is not liable for capital gains tax
