Make me feel "better" by telling me what's worse Sad

@PurpleVerbena

Pain from a cyst in your breast that feels like a thousand hot needles piercing your skin every time you move.

I had this after giving birth. Had to have an op under ga to have it cut out. Horrendous.

But a bad back is worse.

Iamacatslave · 19/08/2021 19:40

Trigeminal Neuralgia.

110APiccadilly · 19/08/2021 19:41

Sciatica is worse, as is induced labour (though the sciatica was worse than even the labour).

Cauda equina. Like sciatica but worse Grin
I told the hospital just to cut my leg off

HeartShapedBalloon · 19/08/2021 19:45

I've had an abscess in my gum/tooth ache due to a cracked tooth. Perforated ear drum was definitely far far worse!

sleepykits · 19/08/2021 19:46

Yep... feeling better now - although that might be the copious amount of drugs and alcohol 😉

I had an 11lb baby with episiotomy and forceps.

Toothache was so much worse. Sympathies x

Audit · 19/08/2021 19:49

Having the soles of your feet beaten while being tortured.

DecorChange · 19/08/2021 19:50

Kidney stone. I had one the size of a sugar cube. My kidneys gave up for a while emergency surgery sorted it though.

cantgetmyheadroundit · 19/08/2021 19:50

I've been plagued by toothache for my whole life. I've had a 27 hour labour with Ventouse delivery, and an emergency c-section, and I would do both of those one after the other, rather than have toothache. It's vile. You have my sympathies.

Now I'm scared to death of all these other things that people have had 😱

waterlego · 19/08/2021 19:50

Oh, toothache is awful. I experienced it properly for the first time recently when I got an infection in a tooth which is part way through a problematic retreatment of root canal. I found only Codydramol would touch it. Sciatica is also horrendous.

One of the worst things I’ve experienced was a pilonidal sinus (abscess right at the base of the spine). I couldn’t sit or walk without intense pain and had to do my written A Level exams lying on the floor of a teacher’s office 😆 Eventually got it sorted under GA.

MumofSpud · 19/08/2021 19:50

@Narutocrazyfox

I thought toothache was the worst until I got Quinsy. It was like toothache, earache, tonsillitis and migraine combined - plus you get lockjaw and cannot swallow so sit drooling like a rabid fox. I actually passed out from the pain, which has never happened to me before.

My SIL argues that her severe kidney infection was worse, pain-wise. To be fair it sounded horrendous and she was ill for weeks.

Toothache is fucking horrible though OP. Take as many painkillers as you can and apply some clove oil until you can see a dentist x

Ya - Quincy is horrific - when I got it I had never heard of it before!
cantgetmyheadroundit · 19/08/2021 19:53

To be honest, any bad pain that's in your head is so hard to try and ignore.

MissScuito · 19/08/2021 19:55

CRPS. Most painful disease known.

plixy · 19/08/2021 19:57

Having your internal organs pushed back in to place for 45 mins following a section. They couldn't get my diaphragm and intestines back in correctly. I was literally being pushed up and down the bed.

Andante57 · 19/08/2021 20:02

Op you have my sympathy. I’ve had a tooth abscess which was agony for 2 days. I got an emergency appointment at the dentist but then the abscess burst in the middle of the night and by morning I felt too ill to get out of bed so had to cancel the appointment.
I’m on antibiotics now thank goodness

Gingernaut · 19/08/2021 20:04

Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, fat pad atrophy, neuromas, bunions and unstable ankles.

No matter how I try to walk, it hurts.

It hurts to point my toes, rise on tiptoes, put my foot on the floor or try to walk.

It's soul destroying. No matter how I try to move around, something hurts and there's little the doctors can do.

Vebrithien · 19/08/2021 20:11
  1. Quinsy. I remember lying on the A&E bed, thinking that if I could just quietly die now, I'd accept that.
  1. Sacroilitius/periformis syndrome. My entire lower back and buttock was in spasm, couldn't walk, couldn't turn over in bed, totally consuming.
  1. Being induced was pretty rough going, especially as I can't take opiates.

You have my sympathy, OP.

ToomuchHeat · 19/08/2021 20:11

Dry socket (after tooth extraction) worse than gallstones I reckon

Eviebeans · 19/08/2021 20:15

Gallstones , pancreatitis

DogFoodPie · 19/08/2021 20:19

I think labour was the most painful, but at least it only lasted one night and I ended up with a lovely baby. Sciatica was a close second and it went on for weeks which was very hard.

Amdone123 · 19/08/2021 20:36

@Andante57, God, I've been there so full sympathy. My antibiotics worked within 24 hours thank christ as I was planning my funeral.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

DinosApple · 19/08/2021 20:37

Forceps delivery and huge tear with no pain relief. I will never do that again and time has dulled the memory.

The soul destroying-ness of persistent intense pain like tooth ache is awful though Flowers.

MintyGreenDream · 19/08/2021 20:40

After labour yes

SouthOfFrance · 19/08/2021 20:42

Do you have antibiotics Op?
