What should I watch on my Amazon Prime free trial?

I'm currently watching the 5th series of The Expanse, but I'll still have the best part of a month once I've finished that. I was hoping the second series of Upload would be out by now, but it isn't.

Any recommendations? I like sci-fi (obviously). I like some crime drama like Unforgotten, but not Scandi crime or anything with too much brooding or angst. I watch some costume drama. I like film thrillers but not series thrillers. I like comedy but am a bit picky about it. Strongly dislike horror unless it's about vampires (that makes no sense to me, but that's how it is).

Little Fires Everywhere.

My absolute favourite on Amazon Prime is This Is Us but that would take longer than a month.

Clarkson's Farm!

Clarkson's Farm-definitely
Grand Tour

mum2jakie · 18/08/2021 22:34

The new series based on Liane Moriarty's book Nine Perfect Strangers comes out on Prime this week

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/08/2021 22:36

Some good suggestions. I've seen Good Omens (three times, it's terrific) and The Witcher is Netflix. I couldn't get into The Boys for some reason.

I'll have a look at Little Fires Everywhere, The Tomorrow War and This is Us and Wayne.

I really strongly disliked the first Outlander book, and I hardly ever like alternative history and didn't get very far in the book version of The Man in the High Castle.

@texasss

Clarkson's Farm!
I came on to say this! Its brilliant. I never knew anything at all about farming in the uK before I watched this. It was such an eye opener.

Particularly when his accountant gives him his annual profit- I can't remember what it is, but under £500 anyway, I think, and he says - ok, so how could an actual farmer cope - you know, the real ones without the Amazon film crews....

I never though Jeremy Clarkson could be so interesting. In this series he is hard working, emotional, humble and respectful.

Makes me think he probably always has been, but used a different TV persona before, maybe

Anyway, its a brilliant series

I couldn't get into The Boys for some reason.

There are some very unpleasant characters and lots of swearing, it certainly isn't fit everyone.

ZealAndArdour · 18/08/2021 22:38

Good Girls Revolt.

The absolute star of Clarkson's Farm is Kaleb. Grin There's some laugh out loud moments between him and JC.

user2520 · 18/08/2021 22:42

Clarksons farm!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/08/2021 22:44

Also not available are This is Us, Good Girls Revolt and Sharp Objects. I've added Clarkson's Farm to my list.

The Good Wife
The Good Fight

mummabubs · 18/08/2021 22:46

Another vote for Clarkson's Farm. I really saw a warmer more human side to him in this and learnt a lot about farming too. (I now gleefully point out tram lines to my DH wherever we see them 😂). Kaleb is a legend, so refreshing to see someone his age be so knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. Can't wait for series 2.
