What should I watch on my Amazon Prime free trial?

I'm currently watching the 5th series of The Expanse, but I'll still have the best part of a month once I've finished that. I was hoping the second series of Upload would be out by now, but it isn't.

Any recommendations? I like sci-fi (obviously). I like some crime drama like Unforgotten, but not Scandi crime or anything with too much brooding or angst. I watch some costume drama. I like film thrillers but not series thrillers. I like comedy but am a bit picky about it. Strongly dislike horror unless it's about vampires (that makes no sense to me, but that's how it is).

1000% Clarkson’s Farm.

Hen2018 · 18/08/2021 22:52

I grew up on a farm and Clarkson’s Farm is the only programme I’ve ever seen that shows proper farming and that farmers are skilled and hard working, rather than stupid yokels.

And that sheep are a pain!

So I’d recommend it.

TheChosenTwo · 18/08/2021 22:55

Chiming in to also rave about clarkson’s farm!
Exactly the same as @54321nought - I learnt so much and have a new found respect for farming, not such a simple life.
Was a real eye opener, endlessly entertaining and good to see other people boss JC around. I’ve never watched him in anything before, cars bore me so never saw top gear but thoroughly enjoyed this series, it’s well worth a watch.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 18/08/2021 23:29

Solos - these are sci fi based short stories.

Modern Love - 2 seasons of relationship based short stories. I didn't think I'd get into them but they really are very good.

Rollercoaster1920 · 18/08/2021 23:32

Ghostbusters?
Upload was my favourite thing I watched this year! I hope season 2 is good when it comes out.

Not on Prime, but I liked Devs, it's on iPlayer

ButterfliesandMoths · 18/08/2021 23:33

The Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt. Sci-Fi film about time travel & Aliens. Loved it.

Available on my amazon prime. Best tv series ever.

Cruel summer!

Prestel · 18/08/2021 23:38

I'm not usually that keen on crime but Bosch is excellent. And The Marvellous Mrs Maisel is good for comedy. It doesn't: sound like you would enjoy horror but I still have to mention Them as it's just such an original and powerful show.

Boobahs · 18/08/2021 23:43

We have just started (3 episodes left of the first season) Animal Kingdom, enjoying it so far! It's a cross between Sons of Anarchy and Point Break.

Rollercoaster1920 · 18/08/2021 23:44

You might like the movie Bliss. Weak lead male carried by a very strong female lead and an interesting concept: what is real?

Rollercoaster1920 · 18/08/2021 23:45

Don't go beyond season 1 of animal kingdom! It becomes utter garbage.

RiverSkater · 18/08/2021 23:45

@mum2jakie

The new series based on Liane Moriarty's book Nine Perfect Strangers comes out on Prime this week
Yes, I'm intrigued having read the book!

Oh no, don't tell me that! 🙈🙈🙈
