Pure escapism thread = Money no object and assuming your family would move with you, or you could see them regularly?

(Ie. "Barbados because I love the beach life" answer's rather than "Coventry, cause gran lives there" Grin)

I live in my dream area anyway in the middle of nowhere, but a seaside cottage would be nice, or the middle of nowhere in a cold, snowy country! Where would you live?

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 18/08/2021 13:14

Rural Yorkshire. I grew up there and would love to go back

JeanneDoe · 18/08/2021 13:53

Santa Barbara. I'm irrationally devastated Harry and Meghan moved there!
Possibly Palo Alto since they've stolen Santa Barbara.

Geamhradh · 18/08/2021 13:57

Kent. My happy place.
If anyone fancies swapping I'm in the south of Italy. Grin

KezzabellaB · 18/08/2021 14:00

Cornwall. 100%. But not any of the majorly touristy bits, somewhere a bit less fraught. DH on the other hand would choose Scotland, so about as far way from each other as we could be Grin

AlfonsoTheMango · 18/08/2021 14:02

Monte Carlo. In a huge palace.

JorisBonson · 18/08/2021 14:07

Tokyo. The most interesting and exciting place I've ever been to.

idontlikealdi · 18/08/2021 14:09

Ibiza - avoiding the tourist spots - it's beautiful, lovely weather, not too far to get home if needed.

Blossomtoes · 18/08/2021 14:12

Exactly where I am. That’s the beauty of finding your happy place.

TheFairyCaravan · 18/08/2021 14:12

Menorca because it’s beautiful and the weather is gorgeous. It’s not too far to get home in an emergency.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 18/08/2021 14:32

Where I am now (the guts of south London) just with more space.

newjobtimeforme · 18/08/2021 14:48

@Blossomtoes bloody love your answer! 😊

PalmarisLongus · 18/08/2021 14:49

Small plot of land somewhere remote in Scotland. Paddock for an animal or two and a tiny haybale house for me.

PositiveLife · 18/08/2021 14:54

Ah, I have multiple places.

Main place is a big rural property in the Yorkshire Dales
Small cottage in Snowdonia for weekend trips
Some sort of holiday place in Scotland - fairly rural, with mountains nearby

I'm totally not fussed about going abroad to live but would just do trips with the never ending money pot Grin

illuyankas · 18/08/2021 15:09

Tanegashima Island. Life is so slow and natural. Beautiful calm beach.

JeffVaderneedsatray · 18/08/2021 16:11

West Coast of Scotland, preferably with the beach on the front (or back doorstep).
(I actually have a dream house picked out but I'd need a mahoosive lottery win!)

LadyCatStark · 18/08/2021 16:16

Australia, no question.

Darklane · 18/08/2021 16:18

Outer Hebrides

Suburbanqueen · 18/08/2021 16:19

Chelsea

tootingbeclido · 18/08/2021 16:23

Skye

FAQs · 18/08/2021 16:23

Fife coast

custardbear · 18/08/2021 16:24

I'd like to live on one of the ocean liners that navigate the earth such as 'the world' or similar. Of course I'd like occasional homes too in a few places like Hawaii, Scandinavia, Canada, Monte Carlo, Cape Town ... perhaps a few other places 😉

Mommabear20 · 18/08/2021 16:26

In a large cottage type home but on a large piece of land made into a small forest in rural Yorkshire 🥰

eurochick · 18/08/2021 16:27

Singapore. I'd love to live there for a few years and use it as a base to explore Asia more.

kikipie · 18/08/2021 16:28

Where I am, been here 20+ years (mainland Europe)
