Pure escapism thread = Money no object and assuming your family would move with you, or you could see them regularly?

(Ie. "Barbados because I love the beach life" answer's rather than "Coventry, cause gran lives there" Grin)

So many places that I’ve visited that I’d love to live, but if I had to pick it one forever it would either be Manly (Sydney) or Manhattan. But I could also happily live in Copenhagen, Madrid, Singapore, Bologna, Berlin, Port Douglas…

Probably around Clerkenwell. Big house though, not a flat. Or regional South Australia. Properly in the country, in a house where I couldn't see my neighbours!

@Suburbanqueen

Chelsea
Love Cheyne Walk, less so north of the Kings Rd!
KeflavikAirport · 18/08/2021 20:29

Central Paris, in a massive flat on the left bank overlooking the Seine.

The street I have lived in for the last 30 years but bigger. I would love a downstairs bathroom.

I currently live in my dream home in Spain ( I love it for my current circumstances). Kids school/ access to their friends independently etc. But when they grow up I will move to the country and have a small farm with a donkey, goats and chickens inland in Spain ....I wan't peace and quiet and will only have enough rooms for us ( our current house is big and I am inundated with visitors, which is lovely but I'm fed up running a hotel ) I love Spain, it has a ethos of living for today but stuff still gets done . Perfect balance

My old home. Didn't realise where my happy place was till I left it.. Still regret it. If has the money, I'd pay double to get it back and I'd buy an apartment in Florence too!

Boombadoom · 18/08/2021 20:34

Orange County.

DemBonesDemBones · 18/08/2021 20:38

Melrose, Scottish Borders. Which is lucky because we're moving there next year! I feel so lucky, we've wanted to live there for years and years and everything finally fell into place!

TheVolturi · 18/08/2021 20:45

Canada.

Menorca

DSGBT · 18/08/2021 20:58

Just by the sea. Don’t mind where! Waking up to a sea view would be heaven to me.

zeddybrek · 18/08/2021 21:25

Beach hut on Zanzibar. Heaven

Katefoster · 19/08/2021 07:08

Canada 100%

Camomila · 19/08/2021 07:22

Bellano or Lecco in Italy so I could work in Milan in the week and go up to Alps and visit my relatives every weekend.

More realistically (sorry OP!) in one of the nice big Victorian houses by DS2s nursery.

Serenissima21 · 19/08/2021 07:34

Italy. But not in the city apartment where I currently live. I'd live in the mountains but I don't think I could commute for work so it will have to be a retirement plan- by which time my knees will probably be too knackered to cope!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 19/08/2021 08:04

One of the Greek islands, probably one of the smaller, less touristy ones.

I adore Greece, always have. Whenever I go there it feels like coming home. I love the culture, the people, the climate. It's my perfect place.

sunnyday1976 · 19/08/2021 08:11

Really, really love where I live now, but for a change, would go for west coast of Vancouver Island, with sea views.

SirenSays · 19/08/2021 08:30

Gold Coast Australia or Vietnam
