Centre Parcs - code brown

So I'm guessing there are other mumsnetters at the centre Parcs this weekend which has just had a code brown closing the whole pool. We hadn't it even got in! (Could have been worse 😀)

So that's annoying. Really annoying. If you child isn't well don't take them to a fecking pool. If your child is young use a swim nappy and maintain vigilance. How hard can it be?

Eeewwww nooooo! Heat a nightmare. I hope centre parks are going to give a partial refund. It’s so expensive at this time of year and if you can’t use the pool……..!

Ohhh man, been there! (Not in the pandemic, but have been hauled out of the CP pool for a code brown). Ewww. What are they doing about swimming slots?

It’s a nightmare but it’s also a case of “these things happen” I am sure nobody feels worse about it than the family involved.

We had that in Majorca one Summer. DS2 was not amused because he was in the pool at the time.

Maybe it wasn’t a child though. Anyone, any age can have an accident. You can’t always predict these things!

I was at Legoland once when Duplo Towers, the splash park had just opened. As we were getting dry a young toddler did a runny poo all over the floor by the fountains. The dad was mortified as the baby didn't have a swim nappy on. Everyone was evacuated and the splash park was closed for deep clean.

Moral of the story- use a swim nappy

That was once my child. He was wearing am age appropriate swim nappy, but was older (age 4) because he has SN. Swim nappies aren't absorbant (obviously), and there was leakage. It couldn't be helped.

Yup it's nasty! Well they say 12 hours and our other slot is lunchtime tomorrow so will be close. My very generous in-laws have paid. Will push them to ask for a refund if needed. Poor mil was disappointed for grandchildren.

12 hours?! Must have been really bad. I’m sure it was under an hour when we were there (though it was our going home day and we didn’t get back in!). They fished it out and shocked the pool.

This is why I wish CP would enforce neoprene over nappies (“happy nappies”) on all children not toilet trained. The paper ones just don’t work properly by themselves. The neoprene ones are pretty much leakproof for solids. All my local swimming pools insist on them.

TbF we were once at a council run pool, and there was a whole fully formed log at the bottom of the pool. They literally just cleared people out of the pool, used a fishing net to scoop it out, then let everyone back in. Everyone was

Happened when we went to center parcs too. My kids were waiting to go on the slide at the pool and the toddler at the front sat down at the top, did a massive shit that squished out the sides of his shorts (no swim nappy 🙄), and his dad tried to slink off even though there’s no way he didn’t see it. I called after him very politely and he shamefacedly came back and retrieved his toddler, who fortunately hadn’t gone down the slide. Still didn’t tell the staff though, the people behind us did and they were very loudly complaining that he’d buggered off and left it

@Imapotato I really like "heat a nightmare" it sounds like a perfect way to describe a nightmare, but even worse. I shall be using that from now on.

Eurgh we had that when we went to centreparcs too. So rank. Don’t get it! How does it happen?? It was in the toddler area so main pool stayed open.
