Confused
Anyone else trying to do an online Sainsbury’s shop and everything is unavailable?

Yes had that earlier!

broccolibush · 16/07/2021 18:20

I was in store earlier and lots of stuff was out of stock. Empty shelves galore, some with signs apologising for distribution problems.

rainbowandglitter · 16/07/2021 18:22

I did one a minute ago and quite a few things were out of stock.

Dunlin · 16/07/2021 18:23

Oh dear. Literally my entire favourites shop is currently unavailable.
Wtf?

It's Brexit... supermarkets can't get lorry drivers that normally temp over here...plus the picker's in the warehouse..you better get used to it.

teenagetantrums · 16/07/2021 18:31

My DP works for Lidl...they normally have loads of polish summer staff but obviously they can't come now. That's why shelves empty.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2021 18:35

I’ve been seeing this for months on mn but I’ve not had a problem with shortages whatsoever. Will I be hit eventually? Or is it regional?

Amboseli · 16/07/2021 18:37

Brexit. All the workers have gone back to where they came from just like the brexiteers wanted. Sorry to hijack into a B thread.

mysterymile · 16/07/2021 19:39

Yes this happened to us today. Practically everything out of stock, I'm dreading what we end up with tomorrow

Wetcappuccino · 16/07/2021 19:39

Yes - I had an order booked for next week. Went in to make amendments and now lots of it unavailable.

SushiGo · 16/07/2021 19:42

Can you go to an actual shop? The stock will be better.

Part of the problem is so many people isolating at the minute and ordering online when they wouldn't normally.

Sandsnake · 16/07/2021 19:45

Yes, me too! I shop online with Sainsbury’s a lot (too much) and this is very unusual for my store.

Fightingfirewithfire · 16/07/2021 19:50

Yes me! Was fine when I placed the order yesterday but today when I've gone to amend it. Most of my order unavailable.
I've selfishly discharged my changes in the hope it's either a glitch, or I get a half decent substitution.
However I can see a trip to a supermarket on Monday happening

We just cancelled ours and have ordered a Tesco delivery instead. Not risking lots of things not being delivered.

It’s the entire system that’s down, not individual stores, according to the person we spoke to on their CS helpline.

I did an in-person-with-a-trolley shop earlier today and there are quite a few random but not-vital things out of stock. No unsweetened fizzy water available of any brand. No ciabatta rolls. But these are hardly essentials and there was plenty of the basic necessities. There are likely to be issues due to the massive shortage of HGV drivers but it just takes a little creativity and flexibility to make do with what is available - the shops aren't going to run out of food altogether, we just can't rely on having our favourite luxuries whenever we want.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 16/07/2021 19:56

ME! Just had a tantrum because nowt's in. I've got a delivery pass so no point in not putting the order through, but I'm annoyed that I already know I'll need to go to Tesco/Aldi in the morning after I've taken delivery of the three or four items they'll eventually bring me.

ThatsNotMyReindeer · 16/07/2021 19:58

Yep. Gave up and opted for Tesco which seems better but has a 115 item limit Hmm

2tired2bewitty · 16/07/2021 19:59

Same here, including warburtons and quorn stuff that comes from factories less than 10 miles away!

0blio · 16/07/2021 19:59

I don't think it's anything to do with Brexit Hmm some people will do anything to shoehorn that in, and those hijacking are not sorry!

I've just been to Aldi and got everything I needed, the shelves were full.

MenaiMna · 16/07/2021 20:01

Yep. 14 out of 45 favourites not available end of next week. Half my regular meal plan out the window!

WaltzingToWalsingham · 16/07/2021 20:01

I was at Sainsbury's this afternoon and noticed that quite a few random items from my shopping list were missing from the shelves. Corn on the cob, pistachio nuts, our usual bread, my favourite sausages.

UndeadSlut · 16/07/2021 20:03

It's not Brexit, it's a technical error.

irresistibleoverwhelm · 16/07/2021 20:04

Yes, just tried to do an online shop earlier and hardly anything was in stock!

Quite right- it’s a technical issue with the website. Nothing to do with Brexit, I have lost half my trolley when I went in to amend it.
