We're isolating, DS has covid. Second delivery, as DH wasxusolatibg for close contact the week before and we didn't want to get stuck.
No broccoli, no bread and no chicken last week (all with subs allowed).
I'm dreading seeing what turns up this week. Couldn't have more than 2 milk (given this is the only thing with any nutritional value I can get into DS right now I'm not impressed), couldn't have more than 1 broccoli. I yavnt logged back in to see what else I cant have.

PeonyTime · 16/07/2021 20:05

Sorry, that's tesco.

UndeadSlut · 16/07/2021 20:05

Btw I'm as remainer as they come but I'm laughing out loud at the Brexit doom-mongers here 😂

Gothichouse40 · 16/07/2021 20:07

I was in Morrison's this morning. Lots of empty shelves and spaces. Ive also noticed many price rises. Flour up by 10 p, my usual spread up by 20p. There were staff with pallets trying to fill shelves. Not sure if this was a delivery issue or not.

I know people salivating to use the brexit line
ResilienceWanker · 16/07/2021 20:09

They're having "technical challenges" apparently. I went to amend our order for tomorrow and it said absolutely everything was no longer available, and did I want to substitute?! (though there were no available substitutions for anything...). I panicked, and abandoned the changes, but back on the home page it said there was a computer issue - not stock issues (though of course there may be individual stock issues in some stores). I highly doubt we're not going to get anything in our weekly order tomorrow... though will eat my words if that is the case!

RuthTopp · 16/07/2021 20:10

Was in Morrison's this morning , and it was like Christmas week with the queues .

gogohm · 16/07/2021 20:14

Go in person? Been tonight and no empty shelves except passion fruits which are hardly essential (except to make passion fruit martinisGrin)

CherryPlumCrow · 16/07/2021 20:14

Brexit indeed 🤣

Clymene · 16/07/2021 20:15

I went to Tesco today. I got everything I wanted although it looked like they'd had a bit of a run on bbq food and gin

Shieldingending · 16/07/2021 20:25

Interesting, my Morrison's delivery has just been and loads of substitutions or just items missing

BlibBlabBlob · 16/07/2021 20:28

Same here, almost everything in my favourites list apparently unavailable! Have currently placed an order for tomorrow morning that is 95% chocolate because one particular kind was the only thing in my entire favourites folder that was available...

Teaandjam · 16/07/2021 20:37

My local Tesco and M&S have hardly any food. It’s got to the point that Tesco have corned off parts of the store and reduced the availability on the shelf. It’s been like that for a few weeks now. I heard through a friend that they are trying to recruit drivers.

hellywelly3 · 16/07/2021 20:37

It’s not just brexit that’s the problem but that hasn’t helped. Loads of staff in distribution centres will be off isolating. Also new drivers aren’t coming through when old ones retire. It’s costs a Fortune to train as a HGV driver and the money is not what it used to be. It’s hard work, long hours for very little pay.

worrybutterfly · 16/07/2021 20:45

I did my weekly shop in Sainsbury's this morning.

Most weeks the shelves are fully stocked, but today there was quite a few bare patches. Especially in the salad section.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2021 20:52

@0blio

I don't think it's anything to do with Brexit Hmm some people will do anything to shoehorn that in, and those hijacking are not sorry!

I've just been to Aldi and got everything I needed, the shelves were full.

Yes! We have a delivery coming on Sunday, I checked it out yesterday and I want to add more stuff but I’m scared to amend it because now half the order is coming up as unavailable and I don’t want it all to disappear from my basket!

queenjaneappro · 16/07/2021 21:07

On their Twitter account they are saying there is a technical issue with amending orders. If you have already checked out your order will be safe but you can't amend. You can cancel if you want.

queenjaneappro · 16/07/2021 21:09

They are also advising people to try a little later and clear the caches and cookies when trying again.

GameofPhones · 16/07/2021 21:20

iceland (delivery) took payment from me, but then refunded because they could not supply beef mince, bread, pork loins, bottles of still water. Worrying. Last week it was chicken thighs that were unavailable.

ufucoffee · 16/07/2021 21:25

OH did big shop today in Sainsburys and got everything on list. Perhaps it depends on where you are.

scully29 · 16/07/2021 21:28

my order lost most stuff so Im glad to hear it could be a technical error and will check again later!

HelloCanYouHearMe · 16/07/2021 22:04

IR35 is causing problems within supply chains though. There aren't enough lorry drivers available to do the runs, so stock is either getting delivered late or not at all.

DP works in logistics and im on the receiving end of his rants about this every night when he comes home

AlexaShutUp · 16/07/2021 22:10

Isn't this what the country voted for? Confused

blue1000 · 16/07/2021 22:23

My Morrison's order tonight came without spring onions, Becks blue, salt and vinegar crisps, ice cream, courgettes, peanut butter, cucumber and cava. And it was 1.5 hours late. Poor driver was very apologetic but I just felt sorry for him as he said everyone was complaining to him.
