Watching supernatural and whilst I love this show (haven’t completed it yet) I’m still pissed at some of the characters they killed off

Ellen
Jo
Bela

I loved those 3 and I hate they were killed off

Hate that Lexa was killed in The 100

Hate that Tara was killed off in Buffy

Yes Cassie in Unforgotten broke me a little bit.

Same. I was in bits by the end.

KibeththeWalker · 07/07/2021 18:23

For me, Sirius in Harry Potter. Why couldn't she just leave the poor boy with one grown up he loved? Ruins HP for me. Blush

imnotalpharius · 07/07/2021 18:25

Joy in No Offence, breaking up the trio, it was such a shock and so sad.

Agree with Richard from Death in Paradise. Also, Ru from The Hunger Games, I wasn't keen on the movie but that part was especially heartbreaking to me.

HappyTimeTunnelDinosaur · 07/07/2021 18:26

@KibeththeWalker How could I forget Snape? I completely agree.

justthecat · 07/07/2021 18:27

Mike from Breaking Bad

I was convinced the whole series she was in witness protection not dead, it didn't feel right
CletusVanDamme · 07/07/2021 18:28

@SinkGirl

I can’t say because not enough people have watched it (and should do, immediately) but there’s a death in The Shield that I will never recover from (and a few more that come close). Heart breaking.

I really don’t want to spoil it for anyone as it would be such a shame to know it’s coming.

Absolutely this.
CatChant · 07/07/2021 18:32

Nigel Pargetter in The Archers. I have never forgiven the scriptwriters for shoving him off that roof. It was the beginning of the end of a long Archers habit for me. All the unpleasant and irritating characters they could have bumped off - frankly they were spoilt for choice - and they picked bumbling, sweet-natured Nigel.

Zach in Goodnight Mr Tom. As though Will hadn't been through enough trauma from his mother's savage beatings and being shut up and left to die with his baby sister. Obviously not because Michelle Magorian polished off his best friend too. It was so unnecessary.

Manchie, Todd's delightful loyal dog, in the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness. No, no, no. DD berated Ness for killing him off when she met him at a book-signing. He did admit he gets a lot of readers scolding him for Manchie's death. And he did sign her book.

grapewine · 07/07/2021 18:34

@Knackerelli

Anya in buffy. Just no need 😭😭
Yes!

Leo in The West Wing. It will be sad forever. He was brilliant. Both actor and character.

Pinuporc · 07/07/2021 18:38

Agree Cas in Unforgotten. Apart from the fact she dodnt get to make up with her dad, they introduced a new (super sad) storyline and left way too many questions unanswered

RicherThanYew · 07/07/2021 18:38

Sid from an Officer and a Gentleman, that really got to me. Spock in the wrath of Khan, I cried for about 40 minutes straight and refused to speak to my husband because he didn't warn me Grin (I won't spoil the rest of that film).

Booboobadoo · 07/07/2021 18:38

Agree with Tiffany in EastEnders. I can't watch Buffy's mum, it's ridiculously sad. It actually feels worse the more I see it.

RunningFromInsanity · 07/07/2021 18:42

Laverne, Scrubs

Finnick, The Hunger Games

Cats09 · 07/07/2021 18:46

Derek, George, Lexi, Sloane ~ Greys Anatomy.
Alex Karev, although he didn't die, I feel cheated at his exit.

Uncle Keith in One Tree Hill was like a punch in the guts, and when Q was murdered too. Absolutely brutal.

Terhou · 07/07/2021 18:47

Going back a long way, but I'm reminded of it because I'm rewatching on UKTV - several characters in The Bill. The death rate at Sun Hill nick was absolutely phenomenal: in most police stations one untimely death would be regarded as an absolute tragedy, but at times it became absolutely routine at Sun Hill. And the particularly extraordinary thing was how many of them died at the hands of other cops. You'd think cops would be fighting not to get posted there, in fact realistically a cop shop with that much bad luck would probably get closed down in case anyone noticed.

I really feel that if they hadn't jumped the shark in such a big way the show would have retained credibility much better and could have carried on much longer.

zyd32 · 07/07/2021 18:48

Tom Keene in the Blacklist, although he was then in the spin-off Blacklist Redemption so I'm now questioning whether he did die.

Cas in Unforgotten

Damian Lewis in Homeland, and then Quinn. Would have liked both to stay in longer

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/07/2021 18:51

Many of the above plus

Lucy from ER

maddiemookins16mum · 07/07/2021 18:52

George O Malley
I only started watching Greys in March, the girls at work who are years ahead of me kept it quiet too. I was genuinely upset.
Oh and Barbara, CTM, I sobbed bug gulping sobs and felt tearful still the next day.

bananamonkey · 07/07/2021 18:53

Those last two/three series of OITNB are so bleak and heartbreaking Sad

I’m still annoyed about Vincent Nigel Murray in Bones, out of nowhere and so unnecessary!

TravellingSpoon · 07/07/2021 18:54

Jessie in CSI Miami and Lucy Knight in ER.

DontDoThatGeorge · 07/07/2021 18:54

I'm still upset about Matthew in Downton Abbey. 2012. Haven't watched it since.

Glitterypinkmoomin · 07/07/2021 18:55

@imnotalpharius, when DCI Deering saw that the blue lights on the ambulance had been switched off and she knew why, so sad.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2021 18:55

Vincent was more heartbreaking for me than Sweets.

SirenSays · 07/07/2021 18:57

Totally agree with everyone saying Buffys mum, Joyce. My god, that episode is heartbreaking. Jenny Calendar was so sad for Giles. I would add Tara but that gave us dark Willow who I absolutely adored.

Bobby from Supernatural, the man was a warrior he fought everything, survived everything and they kill with with a stray bullet. Hell no, lost all love for the show after that.

I stopped watching the Walking Dead after Glen, everyone said I was a wuss but then agreed it went massively downhill and stopped watching too.

Freddie from Skins, it was so extreme and out of the blue.
Quentin fields and uncle Keith from One Tree Hill.
Marissa from the OC.
