Matt Hancock's DM 'sad face'

Woke up this morning to this. It's the saddest sad face photo I've ever seen. He has been publicly disgraced and humiliated, his marriage appears to be over and yet he can't even look sad convincingly!

That’s because he’s not sad. He’s the one who’s instigated the end of his marriage and he will now be shacking up with his mistress. Meanwhile, he gets to leave his job for personal reasons rather than having to resign in a year or so’s time amid far greater scandal when an inquiry to the pandemic shows that he was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in care homes and that he prioritised giving lucrative contracts to his mates over all other considerations. I’d say it’s all worked out pretty well for him.

Heavymetaldetector · 27/06/2021 08:55

That is so embarrassing. What on earth did he think that was going to achieve?

MyFloorIsLava · 27/06/2021 08:57

Couldn't have said it better myself @GCAcademic . He's not sad and he has no shame whatsoever.

AluckyEllie · 27/06/2021 08:57

Exactly what @GCAcademic said. He gets to leave on a career high (we all know he’s a knob but he hasn’t been shamed fully in the inquiry yet.) He’ll get another job in the private sector earning millions, probably with a leg up from those mates he made millionaires. Bastard

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 27/06/2021 08:59

I feel sorry for his children. Martha deserves better.

LouLou198 · 27/06/2021 09:38

Saw him talking on the news last night. He's not sorry at all.

CrumpetsForAll · 27/06/2021 09:42

His poor wife. Hope she’s got a good support network. I’ve been there and those first few weeks are full of some very long lonely nights imagining the fun they’re getting up to while you pick up the pieces and try to hide it from the kids that you hate the twat...

Crinkle77 · 27/06/2021 12:19

No he's not. There was no apology in that speech. I just hope his wife dumps him and doesn't do the usual thing that politicians wives do and stick by him.
TheBobJog · 27/06/2021 12:20

I think he looks bloody relieved.

Arbadacarba · 27/06/2021 12:21

That look of feigned contrition says it all really.

Plonker.

coodawoodashooda · 27/06/2021 12:24

I feel so sad for his wife too.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 27/06/2021 12:24

my shoe is a better actor than he is.

he's not sorry, he's just sorry he got caught. wanker

ineedaholidaynow · 27/06/2021 12:25

@Crinkle77 supposedly he has left his wife.

I haven’t read or seen anything about him on TV today but I was saying to my DH I bet he is a happy man. No longer got the stress of his job and the ‘honeymoon period’ with his mistress. And has rich connections who can start paying back favours.

I feel very sorry for their ex partners and their children.

newnortherner111 · 27/06/2021 12:32

He has had plenty of practice at acting as being sad. Think of the press conferences and interviews.

More acting than Tony Blair did.

mum2jakie · 27/06/2021 12:34

Remember when he was trying to make out he was crying with happiness over the vaccines on GMTV? Dick!

Petalplucker · 27/06/2021 12:43

I don't think he will feel relieved for long. Even if his political career recovers eventually, these events will follow him around forever. Whatever the legal and moral ramifications, he has seriously undermined his own professional standing.

And I may be wrong and it may turn out to be a true love match, but many of us know of work based affairs that do not thrive outside of the office. Once exposed, the elicit excitement has gone for a start. MH is no longer at the centre of power in a world crisis, is no longer conducting a large team, with support staff and security and cars to whisk him everywhere. He will be plain old MH trying to negotiate child visitation arrangements, responsible for washing his own socks, and as such may not be as an attractive a prospect as previously. Both parties will also be handling devastated children and the fall out from ex partners and extended family members. An exposed affair in reality is rarely as glamorous a prospect as the participants imagined.

mibbelucieachwell · 27/06/2021 12:48

I hope his constituents deselect him. Otherwise he'll be back in the cabinet in a few months.

PickAChew · 27/06/2021 12:51

Looks like he's trying not to burst out laughing.

Frownette · 27/06/2021 12:53

Aw, I do think he's an emotional type and couldn't cope with COVID. No idea what happened about his marriage.

PhilCornwall1 · 27/06/2021 12:53

One of the only people who can resign on Saturday and go back into work on Monday, earning £80k.

Fitforforty · 27/06/2021 13:05

Your shoes may have also done a better job at being the health minister.
ButYouJustPointedToAIIOfMe · 27/06/2021 13:09

Remember when he was trying to make out he was crying with happiness over the vaccines on GMTV? Dick!

Both that fake crying and the fake smile above = Razzies

SpindleWhorl · 27/06/2021 13:09

God, he thinks he's so fucking clever.

CrumpetsForAll · 27/06/2021 13:12

Ah well, at least he can’t deny he ever had an affair and introduce the girlfriend in record time as a ‘happy coincidence’ like most cheating wankers try to do

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 27/06/2021 13:42

has anyone got a teeny tiny conspiracy theorist whispering inside that he orchestrated this to get out of his thankless job and seemingly crumbling marriage in one swift move?

stranger things have happened...or maybe I just watch too many crime dramas & thrillers and expect a twist🤣
