@73kittycat73 thanks, but I felt OK saying goodbye to them. I shall miss them, I’ve missed them whilst I’ve been off sick with this blessed arm. But I’m happy to go!

Good luck with your clinics @BorderlineHappy!

PaperMonster · 06/07/2021 06:13

Also, wondering how @Hermie12’s getting on?

Hermie12 · 06/07/2021 06:54

Ooh hi @papermonster and everyone sorry for the silence . All good thanks . I seem to be on a mission at the moment from being home too much and keep spotting things that need doing! What with that and organising my daughters social diary Grin I have been a bit lax at posting. Yesterday was a war with weeds on the driveway and I’ve stocked up on paint to tart up some tired looking radiators and paintwork . In more exciting news my husband and I went to Wimbledon last Tuesday as by some miracle I managed to get tickets , real bucket list stuff and brought some much needed excitement into our lives. Long term furlough here so I have to keep pushing to motivate myself day to day. On the health front still feeling good aside from some unhealthy nibbles Saturday night whilst watching the football , it was interesting though how rubbish I felt the next morning so it’s further pushed me to stay on course . Anyway enough wittering on from me, have a good day.

73kittycat73 · 06/07/2021 09:55

Lol @ BorderlineHappy well good luck with both appointments. Flowers
Glad it was a positive thing then PaperMonster.Smile
Hi Hermie12. Boy you've been busy! Smile Wimbledon sounds amazing! Sounds like you've kept yourself busy. Star

Wow @Hermie12 Wimbledon sounds like a great experience! Lucky you! I’m long term sick - so I get the motivation thing! I’ve been doing a lot of painting and still have more to do!! But today I shall nap as yesterday wore me out!!

BorderlineHappy · 06/07/2021 13:42

Back from the hospital and she basically said I can ring if I have a problem but they're happy enough.
So stopped off and had a lovely breakfast burrito and a coffee.

Xyzzzzz · 06/07/2021 13:44

Can I join in? I currently have GD but I’ve been told I’m pre diabetic anyway. Really struggling. They’ve upped my dosage of medication. But even eating toast can send my sugars spiralling. I really want a portion of fish and chips but can’t ☹️

Ah it's tricky but at least with GD it shouldn't last forever. If you have Waitrose or Ocado there's a bread called LivLife which is low carb and pretty tasty.

Try to think of all the things you can have rather than what you can't. You can eat all the cheese and meat you like! (Or veggies if you're not a meat eater Wink)

Hermie12 · 06/07/2021 14:16

@Xyzzzzz welcome. It may not feel like it now but on the plus side I had to be so strict when I was pregnant I only put on a stone!

If you like sweet stuff, Greek yoghurt with a small spoon of cocoa stirred in was a life saver. I agree on focussing on what you can eat not what you can't. You soon adjust its the first few weeks that are the hardest hang on in there.

Xyzzzzz · 06/07/2021 16:06

Thank you. I had it with my last pregnancy too but I managed. This time it’s harder and sugar levels are very erratic. I’m best trying to reduce now as I’m pre- diabetic anyway.

Iamtheweedonkey · 06/07/2021 16:15

Can I join please, I was diagnose prediabetic 3 weeks ago, I have lost 3.5 kg, changing my eating habits, but it's difficult knowing what I can eat as carbs are hidden everywhere.

PaperMonster · 06/07/2021 16:32

Hello and welcome @Xyzzzzz and @Iamtheweedonkey!

WreckTangled · 06/07/2021 17:30

That looks delicious! I make tuna cakes and the dc love them.

73kittycat73 · 06/07/2021 19:18

Yay for the good news BorderlineHappy! Hope you enjoyed you meal afterwards? One appointment down, one to go. You can do it girl! Star
Aww PaperMonster, are you still painting? I bet it'll look lovely when you've finished and you'll get a great sense of accomplishment. That or vow never to pick up a paint brush again! Grin
Hi Xyzzzzz, and Iamtheweedonkey all welcome here. Smile Well done on the weightloss Iam! Star How far along are you Xyzzzzzz? (did I ad to many 'z's there? lol)
Welcome back WreckTangled, it's nice to 'see' you! Smile
Well, the toilet is acting up again. This time when you flush there is obviously air trapped in the pipes. You can here it miles away! All the pipes shake! They are supposed to be coming to fix it tomorrow.

@Xyzzzzz and @Iamtheweedonkey welcome.
@73kittycat73 hopefully you get it sorted for good tomorrow. And hopefully tomorrow is good news as well.
@PaperMonster might have a go of that.
I need something new

PaperMonster · 06/07/2021 20:55

@WreckTangled ooooh, I could add tuna to that and it would be so tasty! Only me who likes tuna in our house, mind.

@73kittycat73 I’ve got loads of painting to do! It’s slow when you’ve only really got one functional arm! Plus I need more paint! It’s all the internal doors I need to do before I get new carpet. Then the kitchen walls. Then the woodwork in the living room.

WreckTangled · 06/07/2021 21:04

I've got a delivery from seriously low carb coming tomorrow. Can't wait! I've got rolls, bread and hot dog rolls.

73kittycat73 · 06/07/2021 21:09

Hello everyone. Grin
Thank you BorderlineHappy, lets hope this is the last of the toilet troubles for a while!
Wow, good luck with all that painting PaperMonster! I bet the finished result will be worth it. Smile
That all sounds lovely WreckTangled. I discovered Ocado the other day and have a shop coming on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to it as I found loads of new vegetarian food I haven't tried before.

WreckTangled · 07/07/2021 06:52

They also do the Carbzone wraps which taste just like normal wraps but only 4g of carbs. I love them and also use them to make pizza and tortilla.

73kittycat73 · 07/07/2021 10:49

Ooh, good to know WreckTangled, thanks. Smile
Well, my plan to have no sweet food in the house is working. Would have definitely given in last night, had such a craving. Luckily there was nothing in to eat so couldn't! I'm so glad as I feel OK this morning and would have felt guilty and bad otherwise.
Was supposed to get a call from the LL office this morning to say when they are coming to fix the toilet. Nothing so far...

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 07/07/2021 11:58

Oh heck, I missed that about the toilet playing up again. I hope they sort it promptly!

Been to have some private treatment on my arm today so it’s feeling a little looser just at the mo.
