I'm ok. Will just plough on through, the ice helped. It's just below my ankle rather than heel or Achilles so could be worse.

Paper sorry nothing seems to be moving forward for you, hopefully your home bp readings will be ok.

73kittycat73 · 28/06/2021 22:03

That's good then WreckTangled. Smile Lets hope you are back on your feet soon.
Thank you PaperMonster, you and your daughter made me chuckle. Grin At least it's not just me that couldn't do it! Sorry to hear about your arm, did you go to A & E? I hope your BP readings come out OK. And sorry to hear your having to deal with more on top with the redundancy. I send you good luck and good vibes. Flowers

Thank you all. No, @73kittycat73, I went to physio at the hospital. But I do feel like turning up at A&E sometimes because they might do something like x-ray or scan me! My BP readings thus far seem fine - maybe it was just a random high one that time. I know I’ve had it taken since then and no-one’s had an issue - I had it done in hospital in Jan when I had my accident and it was fine then. But I don’t suppose it hurts to have a machine in the house!!

73kittycat73 · 29/06/2021 11:01

Good morning all. I hope you are all having a good day? It was back to the HIIT, abs, balance and arms for me today. Boy even one day off (Don't do it on yoga days.) makes you really feel rusty! I'm trying to think of all the weight loss it will make, and toning instead.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 29/06/2021 15:59

@73kittycat73 you make me feel tired!! I did my usual village walk today - a couple of miles. It’s proper muggy here today. Feels like we need a storm.

73kittycat73 · 29/06/2021 18:37

Got caught in a storm going to yoga yesterday. Only the way there though. Hmm Still, didn't get too wet. It's not been to bad here today. It's supposed to be dry tomorrow so going on another little walk. I have a new goal, get to The One Stop (Convienence shop.) that I can work on.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 29/06/2021 20:47

You sound determined to do that, so am sure you’ll succeed!

I got lots of bites on my walk on Sunday - they’ve all come out today. The back of my legs are all bumpy and oozy!

BorderlineHappy · 29/06/2021 22:51

I managed over 20,000 steps today.Im really happy with that.

73kittycat73 · 30/06/2021 11:36

Thank you, I'm a bit nervous about it tbh. I'm going to do it though. Smile (Must remember , it's just my thoughts.) Ouch, sorry to hear about all your bites! Have you got anything in for them? I hope they're not too itchy/painful?
Well done BorderlineHappy! How did you do it (Apart from one foot in front of the other! lol)? I see people post they do 12k+ in a day and that they walked for an hour. I wonder what they've done to get all those steps, or where they have walked to in that hour iyswim?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 30/06/2021 15:45

@73kittycat73 I did 2 long walks yesterday and loads of running around.
It'll never happen again 😂 knowing my luck.

73kittycat73 · 30/06/2021 18:39

Lol. Grin Well done on all those steps anyway! Star

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 30/06/2021 19:33

Good going on those steps @BorderlineHappy.

@73kittycat73 I get a lot of steps in which always surprises me. I did about four miles’ worth of steps yesterday just by doing school runs, running Rainbows and a couple of miles just doing a circular village walk. But on Friday I’ll do the same amount just cleaning a building in the village!

Lovely fish and mushy peas for tea tonight - surprised me that batter and peas didn’t affect my blood sugars, so always a lovely treat!!

WreckTangled · 30/06/2021 20:11

I did my insulin then ds hurt himself (he's fine), I got caught up giving him a shower then put him to bed. Realised my sugar level was dropping and when I checked it was 1.9! I actually felt/feel fine. Have eaten now Grin

73kittycat73 · 30/06/2021 22:15

Tea sounds nice PaperMonster. Smile I have caved and ordered mash and jacket potatoes in my shopping. Blush I'm going to try them and test my blood sugar. Talking of which, I had a sugar low today too WreckTangled. I thought my 3.2 was low but 1.9?!!! How did you feel, and how did you correct it? I had two squares of 70% dark mint chocolate.
Managed to go further than I thought with my walk. Got right to the other side of the road from the shop. Am going again Friday and will attempt to get to the door, or perhaps even go in. Tomorrow I'm helping my mum clean the shed out. She has four large trunks of Christmas decorations in there and we are going to sort out which ones to keep, and which ones to charity shop.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2021 06:15

I felt fine Grin always fast acting glucose for a low so I had four dextrose tablets and some apple juice. I still had fast acting insulin on board so needed to treat it quite aggressively otherwise I would usually just have one of two dextrose tablets.

73kittycat73 · 01/07/2021 08:41

I hope you feel better today? My BS dropped to 2.9 last night so I had 4 pieces of Celebrations chocolate. Only I didn't stop at 4, had a binge. Ice cream figured in there too. Payback this morning though (TMI warning!) I've been in and out of the loo this morning. One good thing though, I stopped eating because I felt sick. I never have before, I just keep going.
Hope you are all OK today? Any plans? I'm still doing the shed with my mum later.

When your sugar level drops your body makes you really, really hungry. There's lots of memes in the diabetes community about this so I wouldn't feel bad, it's just your body trying to get more glucose into you.

I'm fine but struggled with rebound highs overnight which is very annoying! I'm just waiting for my blood test.

73kittycat73 · 01/07/2021 09:50

Hopefully your BS will return to normal soon. Flowers Is that a blood test you are doing yourself, or your Hbac1 (Did I get that right?! Grin )

My kids are on their summer holidays from yesterday. So i had a lie in this morning.
So im feeling a bit meh about my walk now.
Im giving the intermittent fasting a break as well, and jiggling my tablets around i dont think the way im taking them is helping me.
Im going to ring Diabetes Ireland later and have a chat.

@73kittycat73 and @WreckTangled gives you a shock when it gets that low for no reason.Hope you are feeling better this morning.

Got another new tattoo yesterday, another voucher from Christmas. So i thought i would use it.

Anyway this place was so different to the experience i had last week.
The woman who tattooed me came out and shook my hand and welcomed me.Put me at ease straight away. Was chatty without being annoying. And most of the artists are females.
I think i have found my go to place now.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2021 10:11

Haha yes you did it right. It's hba1c and a few other things I get done regularly. It was really painful and my arm is still throbbing, usually I'm fine.

Borderline that place sounds great so important to feel at ease

73kittycat73 · 01/07/2021 10:27

Good luck for the summer holidays BorderlineHappy! How long do your children have off? Good luck with your phone call, I hope you find it helpful. Smile Oh, what tattoo did you get this time? The parlour sounds nice.
Yay, WreckTangled I got it right. Grin Sorry to hear your arm is hurting. I think it depends on who's doing it, doesn't it. Some nurses you hardly feel a thing, others you end up like your poor arm. Do you watch? I always do. Last nurse called me a freak because I like to watch. Grin

My kids are off till the end of August.
My other son was finished the end of May,hes back middle of August.
I got a handpokeked butterfly on my hand.
It was such a lovely experience. And not as painful as i thought.

73kittycat73 · 01/07/2021 18:56

Still going here. Smile I hope you've all had a good day? I'm quite pleased/cuffed. I was moving big heavy trunks and other equipment, including a mobility scooter, in and out of the shed, and I didn't huff and puff once! What we thought would take days was done this afternoon. So the exercising is paying off. Smile

WreckTangled · 02/07/2021 13:45

My hba1c was 5.6 (37.7) Grin
