Hello all, lovely but chilly day here! Went into town for a potter and to buy sausages from the fab butcher: honey pork, pork & fennel, sweet & sour pork and finally pork, sage & onion! I’ve had one of the last three with roasted swede and roasted sprouts! Delicious! Now I’m enjoying some dark chocolate and ginger buttons!

I also bumped into one of my old students who became a colleague, so that was really lovely as I’ve not seen him for a while.

Then I went for an actual walk!! For a couple of miles. So my walking total for this week is 57 miles! Best yet!

Strictly followed by Blankety Blank tonight and tomorrow Remembrance service.

Hope you’re toasty warm @73kittycat73 and the heating is behaving itself!

73kittycat73 · 13/11/2021 22:25

Aww, sorry to hear things are a bit tough WreckTangled. I hope you managed the lovely walk? I'm sure some fresh air would help your mind. Have you received any of your brownies yet?
Ooh, posh sausages PaperMonster. I hope they tasted nice? Dark choc and ginger? I've not tried that before.
The heating is now OK thank you. Smile Had it on this morning, was freezing in here! Went to the shop and I swear it was milder outside! lol
Did you enjoy your walk? I missed Strictly this evening. I meant to go to bed about 7.30-8pm to watch more South Park. Here I am at 10.30ish still up and on the PC! Must go to bed soon. Good luck for tomorrow Wrecktangled, if you are doing any more studying.

I've been quiet over the weekend as I've been stuck in a&e.
Woke Saturday to blurry vision, headache and being sick.
Went to the hospital, where I say for 6 hours.
I had to come home I was so hungry.

Woke up Sunday to the same thing, rang out of hours doctor, who when I mentioned brain aneurysm told me to go straight to a&e.

So I did was seen too pretty quickly and after scans and bloods I have a viral infection.
She I'll a bit ropey today but feel loads better.

Oh @BorderlineHappy, what a worrying and horrible weekend for you. Hoping you feel better soon and sending you hugs xxx

@WreckTangled sorry, I completely missed your post about Uni assignments. Hope you managed them ok - and ugh to referencing. Not had to do that for a long while!! Hope you managed to get out for some fresh air. Xx

BorderlineHappy · 15/11/2021 20:13

Oh thanks @73kittycat73 and @PaperMonster im feeling loads better today.Still a bit tired.

Hope you both had a nice weekend.
@WreckTangled hope you got your work finished.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2021 21:21

Yes I did the brownies already they're the nicest pre made ones I've had.

Thanks, I haven't finished but it's a formative assessment so I've done as much as I need to.

Borderline that sounds horrible I hope you get better quickly.

I didn't get out for a walk unfortunately but never mind.

73kittycat73 · 16/11/2021 19:35

Hi BorderlineHappy, how are you feeling today? I hope Rocco is giving you loads of cuddles to make you feel better-What am I saying? He's a kitten, instead he will be up to lots mischief! lol
How's the walking this week PaperMonster? You so put me to shame! Grin How is your arm doing?
Hi WreckTangled, what involved in referencing then? Is it something you have to do in a library? Check facts and everything? I've never done it so don't know.
Glad you have enjoyed some brownies. Smile
Shame you didn't get your walk. How are you doing today? Not so swamped I hope?

It's how you present where you got your information from but it has to be written in a very specific way. Like these two photos, the italics and commas etc all have to be correct

Im feeling great today, even managed a walk.Just so tired though.

My dp is very good but i dont think he realises how something like this can make you so knackered.

Rocco is being his little nutty self.Up to everything.Certainly keeping me on my toes.

PaperMonster · 16/11/2021 20:56

Hello all! @73kittycat73 16 miles so far this week. Actually it’ll be more but my walk to school and then to where I was working just didn’t register this morning for some reason! Tomorrow’s my quiet day -tidying and pottering at home mostly.

My arm continues to improve thanks! I can get it almost up straight in the air, but not round my back so still struggle with my bra!! But very little pain thankfully!

Hope everyone is enjoying a good week xxx

I see, thank you for explaining. Smile It looks like Wikipedia! I suppose it's a bit like decorating a room. You've done the main bit, painted the walls, and now it's just the fiddly annoying bits left to do, like the skirting. Good luck with it though. Do you have to do it often, or is this it for a while? Yay for feeling great BorderlineHappy! Smile Glad Rocco is keeping you company. I don't know why, but I always check out the cats up for adoption in my area on the Cats Protection, and Blue Cross sites. There's a lovely 18 year old chap on there atm. His owner had to go into care so he needs a new home. He's a house cat but he's never been neutered and they don't want to put him under GA now due to his age. He would need to use a tray and it would need emptying out/cleaning more often because of this/the smell. I love old cat and he looks a sweetheart but I can't be doing with litter trays atm. Still not over my last cat and the mess she made with hers! (I would change the litter and she would climb in and furiously kick the litter everywhere. She did it every time she used it. It was a constant battle.) I'm sure he'll find a good home though. They had a pair of lovely ginger boys on there too. I was tempted, but stepped away! lol Enjoy your quiet day tomorrow PaperMonster. Smile Glad your arm is OK, and your not in as much pain as you were. I have once again, broken into the Christmas stash. Blush The Cadbury Rose's. They're now where as good as they used to be though. I've always loved soft centres but the Rose's ones now are now where near as nice as they used to be.

I haven't studied for about 15 years! And I don't think I ever had to reference like this.

I'm at the gym for the first time in two weeks. It's hard work and hurting my hands where they've got soft again Grin

WreckTangled · 17/11/2021 06:08

Also my gp phoned me at 7:30pm last night to see if I had had a diabetes check up recently (I'm under the hospital and the nurses don't write to update after appointments). I told her it was late and to go home Grin

73kittycat73 · 17/11/2021 11:27

Ooh, good luck at the gym, well done for going back! Star I hope your hands are OK.
It must be quite difficult going back to studying after all that time. Good luck with it though, you sound like you are doing great. I imagine it takes a while to get back into it? How long is your course for?
Lol at telling the Dr to go home! Grin It was nice that they 'phoned to check on you though. Smile

Oh Rocco and his digging sound a lot like your cat @73kittycat73,🤣
He destroys the place and wont go even if its a bit dirty .

Went to Howth yesterday, its a seaside outside Dublin.
Had a lovely walk on the pier, even though it was chilly to say the least .
Really enjoyed it.

Then had fish and chips.
Really lovely day.

73kittycat73 · 19/11/2021 11:51

They are so fussy aren't they? Still, gotta love 'em. Grin Your day out sounds lovely. Smile I bet it was cold! Still, fish and chips...yum. Grin (Lucky I spotted that grin, it came out as groin. Blush lol I daren't think what that smilie would be! lol)
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I don't know why I keep thinking it's Saturday or Sunday anyway. I had to check on the computer today what day it is! lol
How is everyone coming on with their Christmas shopping? Done, not started yet? I've got 1 to 2 gifts left to buy, for my niece. It's so hard. When they were young we had them over a lot so knew what they liked on TV, what food, book, toys etc. Of course didn't see them much over Lockdowns, and they grew, now 14 and 12 and obviously all their tastes have changed. I did ask then last time I saw then all their favorite things, but I can't remember half of them. Grin I do know that they like Adele and Ed Sheeran and Netflix. Still can't think of what to give youngest niece! I've asked her what she would like and she said she'd have a think. (I know they asked for cash this year, which we are giving some, but we also had a few gifts in before it was decided. Oldest niece has got a few more (Bigger) presents than the youngest so just wanted to even it up.)

A walk on the beach sounds lovely. Even if it is cold! I went to Dublin once - the weather was very wet!! Would actually love to return to Ireland.

I’m at a loss as to my closest friend, what to get her. Her kids I’ll do cash and a something to open. But I’ve no idea what to get her!

I wish this damp weather would do one. Had my hair trimmed yesterday and it looks great when I style it (other than desperately needing highlights which I’m getting Christmas week) but I go out and it just flops cos it’s baby fine. I want a crisp dry day or three please!

WreckTangled · 19/11/2021 20:17

Evening all. Can't remember what I last said, another busy week though and more studying to do tomorrow 🥱 sugar levels have been pretty ace as I've been doing well with low carb all week. Found this in Sainsbury's, they also had nutty ones (but I don't like nuts). It says 10g of carbs but 8g is a sweetener that doesn't affect glucose levels. I didn't take any insulin and stayed a steady 4.9. It's expensive but really good when you're craving something sweet. Was like a Dime bar.

73kittycat73 · 19/11/2021 23:32

Hi PaperMonster. Smile Have you tried looking in the Christmas section for some inspiration for your friend? They have lots of threads with ideas for people. You could even start your own.
Glad you liked your hair. I was just looking in the mirror earlier and lamenting how much I don't like mine. I have to brush it back and keep it in place with a hairband otherwise I look like something out of the 90's. Remember the curtain hairstyle? Yup... Sad Maybe you could ask on the style and beauty boards, see if they have any suggestions for products for you hair, to help it hold?
Hi WreckTangled. Smile Do you find you procrastinate when it comes to studying? I know I do if I have to do something I'm not looking forward to! Good luck with it though.
Well done on the low carbing. Star I shop with Sainsbury's, I'll have to keep an eye out for those bars to try. Thanks for sharing. Smile

Thanks @73kittycat73 - I never thought of looking on the other boards tbh, I must take a look!

That looks interesting @WreckTangled. Hoping to go to Sainsbury’s at some point so must look out for them.

Had a lovely evening at a Christmas lights switch-on! Much fun!

73kittycat73 · 22/11/2021 11:35

Hi everyone. Smile Hope you all had a lovely weekend? My nieces came round Sunday and again, they were a delight to have. (I only say this, not to brag, but they used to be 'spirited' shall we say? Grin )
Did anyone watch I'm A Celeb last night? What did you think? I thought it was ok. bit to dramatic music, but other than that, it was alright.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 22/11/2021 17:22

Hi @73kittycat73 lovely weekend thanks! Lovely to hear you’ve had a nice time with your nieces! I didn’t start watching I’m a Celeb in the end.

I’ve got a Cheesies Advent Calendar!!

BorderlineHappy · 22/11/2021 17:32

@73kittycat73 ah I'm glad you enjoyed having your family around.
I haven't watched it yet might start tonight.

@PaperMonster is that the cheese advent from Lidl.
I have my eye on one of them.

Rocco decided to go on adventure last night.
He was missing for a few hours.
Somebody opened the halldoor and he escaped to freedom.

I only noticed him gone when I went up to the kids room and he wasn't there.

Looked everywhere, couldn't find him.
Even went out the front,no sign.

Just as I was giving up I checked FB and my ndn had his picture up saying they had him.

Went to knock and he was outside on the ledge of the wall.

He jumped in to my arms.
Never so glad to see someone.

73kittycat73 · 23/11/2021 19:46

Hi PaperMonster. Smile That advent calendar sounds nice. Have you carried on not watching IMAC? I found last nights quite funny.
I saw this posted on another site. It's the BBC's Christmas line up. I'm very much looking forward to the new The Weakest Link and the Ghosts Christmas special. My mum is going to watch Mandy. Apparently as it's Christmas, it's longer. By one minute! lol
Hi BorderlineHappy. Smile My gosh that sounds scary. Your heart thumps like mad when you realize they've gone, doesn't it? So, so pleased you found him. Sounds like he was glad too! Aww, little rascals, turn your hair white they would! Xmas Grin
I can finally say, after days of looking, we found my nieces last two presents and...I've finished my Christmas shopping! Yay! Xmas Grin Hopefully I can relax a bit more now. Xmas Smile Wrote out all my Christmas cards today too. Well, I got my mum to do them (I supervised. Xmas Grin) as my handwriting is shocking, hers is so much better.
How are you both doing, Christmas wise? Found anything for your friend yet PaperMonster? Have your tree up yet BorderlineHappy?
I can't wait to hear tales about your tree and what Rocco will get up to with it. Xmas Grin I'm sure you can though! lol
I hope you're OK and not too bogged down with studying WreckTangled? I hope you're ok. Smile Have you started getting ready for Christmas yet?
