Tonight i am watching Madonna on MTV.Her Madame X is on and im beyond excited.

Im literally counting down the minutes.
And i might have some popcorn to have with it.

PaperMonster · 08/10/2021 20:08

I’m sure you will make good progress @73kittycat73 both with food and your cupboard!!

Enjoy Madonna @BorderlineHappy!

No real plans this weekend, just pottering and trying to catch up on housework!

73kittycat73 · 09/10/2021 11:29

Did you watch Madonna BorderlineHappy? I hope you enjoyed it. Smile
Glad you managed to get petrol WreckTangled. Star
I keep meaning to ask, PaperMonster, how is your arm doing atm? |Is work helping, or hindering?
I hoe you all have a lovely weekend. Smile I'm sat here trying not to breathe in fumes. Confused Kept the cat flap unlocked, never had a problem before, but an unspayed tom has got in and peed everywhere. It stank. Have sprayed Dettol disinfectant spray everywhere and that has taken the wee smell away, but the spray is really getting down my lungs! Better than then the wee smell though...
Haven't started on the cupboard yet. Bit tired, might start it later. I'm determined not to go back to bed or nap today, see if that helps with the insomnia. So got up on time today and feel wiped out. Remember getting up in the night but only ate 3 marshmallows and some Peanuts and Cashews. Ok, I still ate, but I managed to stop myself, which is a huge thing for me, so I'm taking that as a win. Smile

Definitely a win @73kittycat73. Thanks for asking about my arm. I still don’t have anywhere near full range of movement- still struggling with undressing for example. However I have very little pain. It’s currently just a light bruise sensation on my upper arm. I saw the physio on Monday who gave me exercises to help get the movement back - but I haven’t done them! Just cos I’ve felt so full of this cold and so I’m exhausted when I’m at home. Work is not a problem as I’m on my feet being active all the time now. If I was driving and sitting at a computer (as I did in my last job) that would be an issue I think. Tomorrow I’m driving to my parents’ new home about 20 miles away - not driven that far for a long time as it has been too painful to do so!

Ugh to the smell of cat everywhere - hope the Dettol does the trick! X

73kittycat73 · 09/10/2021 22:21

Well I'm glad at least that a lot of the bad pain has gone. Smile I don't blame you not doing exercise when you feel so rubbish! Good luck for the drive tomorrow, I hope you will be OK. Did you watch Strictly? I missed it today. I will watch the results show tomorrow though.

Oh I loved Madonna it was so great.

I managed to get an under counter fridge an an instant pot on the free sites.
The stuff people get rid of is amazing.

@PaperMonster hope you feel better soon.
@73kittycat73 hope you got the smell out.

PaperMonster · 10/10/2021 08:11

Thank you ladies! Yes, we watched Strictly! Loved John and Johannes! Spellbinding!

It’s an actual sunny day today, hurrah!

Wow @BorderlineHappy you’ve done really well getting those for free! Our local free page is a bit rubbish tbh.

WreckTangled · 10/10/2021 08:31

Morning. Back to being good today. It's so hard because I love chocolate but also it makes me feel shit Grin

Anyway posting my food for accountability today:

Carb killa protein bar (for after gym)

Lunch I'll make soup, maybe broccoli and leek? With a kvarg yoghurt for after.

Dinner is Swedish meatballs. I'll make cauliflower mash and have green beans. The sauce is beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and some cream.

If I want something after I'll have a mint options hot chocolate.

BorderlineHappy · 10/10/2021 09:18

@WreckTangled right what times dinner😋

There must be something in the water as I've just come back from my walk.

I've had my weetabix but I'm still starving.
That Chinese last week kick started me eating crap again.

WreckTangled · 10/10/2021 09:19

I'm always starving after a Chinese too! I'm quite hungry now as well but probably just need hydrating Grin

WreckTangled · 10/10/2021 12:42

DH just messaged me asking if I wanted anything from McDonald's. I said no 😩😩 I'll just sit here and enjoy my soup. Grin

PaperMonster · 10/10/2021 17:58

That sounds de-lish @WreckTangled. I shall confess to a McDs today! Chicken nuggets - my go-to as they don’t seem to affect me adversely. There’s one midway between me and my parents’ new home which we visited for the first time today.

Funnily enough I’m going to make soup this week - cauli and broccoli.

73kittycat73 · 10/10/2021 20:11

Glad you enjoyed Madonna, and congrats on the Pot and fridge! Good finds! Star As for the smell...Am going to have to chuck the rug in the porch out. It stinks. Hopefully that will be all that needs going. It's embarrassing to open the door!
Funnily enough I've been hungry all day too. Proper belly rumbling and everything. I binged last night. Have discovered that I feel more tired the next day if I've binged the night before. (Might be obvious to some but I've only just realised it. Grin )
Glad you've had a lovely sunny day PaperMonster. Smile How was the drive in the end? I've missed Strictly again tonight. If others don't mind, do you think you could post who goes tonight? Hope you enjoyed your McDonalds! [grin}
WreckTangled It's so hard because I love chocolate but also it makes me feel shit.
SNAP!!! It's addictive isn't it? At the time the fact that you want to lose weight/it makes you feel anxious/increases your hot flushes don't even register does it?! It's only later when you are suffering the side effects that you vow never to indulge again. Never lasts long though! I'm desperate to lose some weight but failing very badly atm. Sad

Look away if you don’t want to see who went out on Strictly! It was Katie. She was up against Judi.

I did the drive no problem thanks - well other than nearly getting taken out by a boy racer who must’ve been doing 70mph in a 30 zone as he went through red lights! But, otherwise, no pain! And I feel great about being able to drive distances again! Furthest I’ve driven is about 8 miles in the past six months! I live out in the sticks so 8 miles doesn’t get you far!

73kittycat73 · 11/10/2021 19:01

Thanks for the Strictly info. Smile
So glad that the drive went well! Star Must feel very freeing.
Did a bit more online Christmas shopping last night. Ordered my (43 year old) brother a Percy Pig hamper from Sparks! Grin He assures me he'll like it, which is good, as he normally thanks me, then puts his presents aside and you never see them again. He's not being mean, he's just very fussy, lol. Like's all the brands and stuff. So hopefully I've got it right this year and this gift goes down well! Xmas Smile
How's everybody else doing on the gift front? Waiting for Black Friday, or getting prepared early?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 12/10/2021 10:48

OMG what’s in a Percy Pig hamper @73kittycat73? I always fancy a cake jar but there’s only a tiny M&S near us and I’ve never seen one in there, and I know really I shouldn’t eat one!

Walked nine miles yesterday. I was exhausted last evening. Then I discovered OH hadn’t made daughter do her homework and I made her do half of it when it was waaaaay too late to be doing homework really!!

On baby watch at the mo. My goddaughter is due any day now! She lives about two hours from us so not sure when we’ll get to meet new baby when it arrives!!

BorderlineHappy · 12/10/2021 12:15

Ah M&S aren't doing Christmas hampers this year.
They can't guarantee delivery.
That Percy pig hamper sounds great.

Used my instant pot today, made a lamb curry.
Smells gorgeous and only took 9 minutes.

Also made butternut squash soup,Nigella eat your heart out.🤣

Turned out nice enough, need a few tweaks.

73kittycat73 · 12/10/2021 21:01

Percy Pig page
Percy Pig Hamper
I hope those links work! Grin Did you recover after that long walk?! Shock Ooh, a new baby! How exciting. Grin Do you know what sex the baby will be, or is it a surprise? I hope you get to meet them soon after they are born. Babies are so soft, cute, cuddly and warm. Smile You can't help but give them a hug.
How did the lamb curry go? Butternut Squash soup sounds nice too. Smile I'm a terrible cook. Haven't got the patience. I even get angsty with how long the microwave takes! Grin

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 13/10/2021 11:08

@73kittycat73I did recover from walking! I suspect today will be a similar amount! It’s the walking I do whilst working! Bonkers, but I’m glad of it!

Got a message this morning! Baby girl arrived yesterday! Lovely news!

@BorderlineHappy that food sounds delish! I keep thinking about an Insta pot - mostly to cut down on electricity usage as we’re all electric here and it costs a fortune!

73kittycat73 · 13/10/2021 12:00

Ooh I see. If you don't mind all that walking then. I suppose it's a good way to get exercise without thinking about it! Grin Good luck for today. And congratulations! Is this the first time you are a Godmum? Sorry about asking the babies sex, just realised you put 'Goddaughter,' in your post. Doh! How exciting though. Have you seen a photo?
I did the cupboard in the bedroom today. Didn't take long as when I opened it I realised I had already done it before at some point. Threw a few bits out, and put a few bits in though.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 13/10/2021 14:09

Lol! That’s what I’d probably do re the cupboard @73kittycat73!!!

Sorry, I probably didn’t explain properly. It was my goddaughter who was pregnant. We didn’t know if she was having a boy or a girl. She already has a little girl, so now she has two! Not seen a photo yet - not messaged her yet either cos she’ll be in the thick of it just now!!

73kittycat73 · 13/10/2021 20:17

Oh I see. Smile Well congrats on being a Godmother anyway. Star I imagine they are a bit busy atm but hopefully you'll see a pic soon.
How did all the walking go today? I haven't done much. Was up a lot in the night with really bad acid reflux. Luckily had some Gaviscon in but it took a while to work and I still had to prop myself up on pillows in bed to get some sleep.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 13/10/2021 21:57

Gosh @73kittycat73 that sounds uncomfortable. Do you suffer from it frequently?

Just worked it out, just over ten miles today!

Looking forward to buying some new baby things for them!

73kittycat73 · 13/10/2021 22:28

I used to suffer from it a lot, I have GERD. I take a PPI pill everyday for it. I haven't had an episode that bad for a long time. I think it's my fault though as I ate quite near to bedtime yesterday. It's still 'there' but a lot better now.
10 miles?! Wow, that's loads! Star Are you getting more used to it now? Mind you, it's half term soon isn't it?
Have fun buying baby bits! Smile

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 14/10/2021 11:05

Hope you had a better night last night xx

The reason I walk so much is that I’m not in a teaching position now (when I am I teach older kids) and I walk my daughter to school, then I walk back again later to work, then back again to collect her. And when I am there I’m walking around a lot. But I also have a little cleaning round, and it’s amazing how much you walk when cleaning! So yesterday I walked to school, then from there to my cleaning job (usually walk about 5 miles in that one) then walked home, then back to school, then home, then back to school and home again!!! And it all adds up! I’m constantly walking! It’s great!
