@73kittycat73 yes to marshmallows - they love doing that! Then put it between two chocolate digestives so the chocolate melts. Delicious so I’m told!! Never had one myself!!

Had a lovely stroll in the sunshine this morning! So beautiful! Have done about four miles today altogether.

So sleepy tonight. Will try to have a very early night!!

Jaw hits floor Shock Why was I not told of this magnificence before?! Grin Must try some one day!
Glad you had a nice stroll. It's been nice here, bar the early morning fog, both yesterday and today. Nice to get a bit of sun. Smile
Did you have an early night in the end? I hope you felt more rested today. I went to bed earlier yesterday but couldn't sleep so ended up watching South Park on my tablet. Grin
You OK BorderlineHappy? I hope you are doing ok.
It's 100 days to Christmas day now, someone get the sprouts on! Xmas Grin

Haha! Thought you might like the sounds of that @73kittycat73!!

Yes, I fell asleep early then my daughter woke me up and I struggled to get back to sleep for ages! So tired at the mo, which I think is just because I was off work for so much this year and then suddenly I’m back into it. Loving it though!

Another glorious day today. Didn’t get chance for a walk but I did walk eight miles whilst working! How’s it been with you - and with @BorderlineHappy today?

I'm doing well @73kittycat73 and @PaperMonster just had an uneventful few days

PaperMonster · 17/09/2021 13:46

Good to hear @BorderlineHappy. How’s the weather with you? It’s your son’s communion this weekend isn’t it? Is there a celebration after the service?

Shattered here but in a nice way. Just bumped into someone in the village who says my new way of life must be doing me good as I look happier!

BorderlineHappy · 17/09/2021 14:07

Weather is miserable here.
Yes sons communion on Sunday no after unfortunately. As they are all booked out.
We're getting takeaway and a cake for him.
He seems happy enough.

PaperMonster · 17/09/2021 20:02

Rubbish about the weather. We’re having lovely weather currently but it’s going to turn wet next week.

A takeaway and cake sounds grand. I hope you have a lovely day.

We’re off to visit my brother tomorrow at a country park. Hoping it’s not mega busy, but no doubt it will be!!

73kittycat73 · 17/09/2021 22:14

Hello both. Smile You know me too well PaperMonster. Grin
Sorry to hear about your broken sleep. Glad to hear though that you are loving being back at work. I imagine it is very tiring at the moment.
Hope you have a lovely day at the country park and that it's not too busy!

Hi BorderlineHappy. Smile Sorry to hear of your rubbish weather. I don't mind rain, in fact I quite like it. Grin It's just when it's just overcast and grey for days on end...Luckily we had a bit of sun poke it's way though this afternoon.
I hope you enjoy the Communion, and the cake and take a way! Grin Do you know what cuisine you'll be having?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 17/09/2021 23:17

Yes he's picked KFC.
And he's having cupcakes.
Ah I'm just glad he's finally making it

73kittycat73 · 18/09/2021 10:42

Sounds lovely. Smile I'll admit, I'm totally ignorant to what a communion is? What age are they? It's not like a Christening then? (Which is what I thought it might be.) I hope I don't offend you with my questions, I really don't know much.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 18/09/2021 10:51

He's 10 and the communion should have happened last year.
It's the 1st time they have communion.( Body of Christ)
There's christening,communion and confirmation.
That'll happen in 2 years

73kittycat73 · 18/09/2021 12:08

Thanks for the explanation. Smile I must admit, I've not heard of confirmation before.
Does the whole family go? Is it that kind of thing?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 18/09/2021 14:13

@73kittycat73 usually they would but because of Covid only me and my son are going.
But we are planning to do something big after Christmas.

PaperMonster · 18/09/2021 21:53

I was confirmed as an adult. So that I could take communion in church - although they weren’t strict about that really but I did just think that going to the confirmation classes would be interesting- which they were.

Country park was heaving. But it was nice to see my brother. And to just have a day out!

Daughter and I are Strictly fans so we’ve been glued to the TV tonight! A friend of my brother is one of the celebs so that was exciting!

Enjoy communion day @BorderlineHappy! And the kfc and cake if you’re partaking!

73kittycat73 · 19/09/2021 20:23

I hope you and your son had a fantastic day BorderlineHappy. Smile Did you go for KFC in the end?
Did you catch Strictly PaperMonster? Glitterball (Always wanted to use that smilie, never been appropriate before. Grin ) I wasn't taken by last years but am really back into it this year. They aren't going to go to Blackpool again though this year as they can't socially distance behind the scenes. Seems like a good bunch!
Glad you had a nice day out and saw your brother. One of mine I like seeing, the other is not so human friendly shall w e say?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 19/09/2021 20:44

‘Not so human friendly’ - great phrase!!

That’s right, no Blackpool this year. My brother’s applied to be in the audience for one of the shows, fingers crossed he gets picked out as he’s had a rough old year.

There was a film crew in our village today so daughter joined me on my regular walk to see what we could see. Very little sadly!! But at least my daughter came for a walk, hurrah!!

What have you been up to @73kittycat73?

BorderlineHappy · 19/09/2021 21:02

Yes @73kittycat73 i had a sneaky KFC and a bit of cake.Lovely day he had thank you.

I dont watch Strictly might give it a whirl this year.

73kittycat73 · 20/09/2021 11:07

Glad you enjoyed your treats BorderlineHappy. Smile Also that your son had a lovely day.
I'd give Strictly a watch, if you don't like it you don't have to watch anymore, if you do, bonus, it's something to watch on a Saturday and Sunday night all autumn/Winter! Glitterball
I hope your brother manages to get a place PaperMonster. Sorry to hear he's had a rough time off it.
I wonder if the film crew were filming a Christmas ad? Or perhaps something historic? You couldn't see any props or scenery (Snow? Grin ) ? Maybe they'll have something in your local paper about it?
I haven't been up to much. Going to pop to the shop later. Was supposed to get my hair cut yesterday but hairdresser let us down again. Going to find someone else. I was quite relieved really, my hair looks better at this length so I didn't really want it cut. That and she made a mess of it last time!

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 20/09/2021 19:33

Sack the hairdresser! Glad your son had a lovely day @BorderlineHappy and you enjoyed some of the food.

I think it’s a short film about women. I’ll keep my ears open for when it’s broadcast and let you know!

Done about six miles today just working so that’s good. Was supposed to go for a walk with a friend this avvo when I finished work but he cancelled. We’ll go another time for a catch up!

73kittycat73 · 20/09/2021 20:39

I think it’s a short film about women.

Ooh, that will be interesting. I've actually just bought the Harley Quinn movie on Amazon and am going to go to bed and watch it on my tablet. A film about women...Sort of! Grin
Aww, sorry your friend cancelled. Did you do anything else instead? Or just chilled? Well done on the six miles! Star

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 21/09/2021 15:53

How is everyone today.
Was Harley Quinn good @73kittycat73.
Made a lovely lamb curry in the slow cooker.Turned out pretty nice.
Going for my walk later, walk off some of that lamb.

73kittycat73 · 21/09/2021 22:29

Loved the film BorderlineHappy. As good as watching Thelma and Louise for the first time. Great Chicks kick ass movie. Will definitely be watching it again at some point.
Wasn't tired afterwards so started watching that new series on Amazon Prime, the one with Nicole Kidman in and it's about a wellness retreat. Watched the first two and enjoyed them. Am going to watch some more in a minute.
That curry sounds delish. Smile Did you got for a walk? I haven't done much today, apart from eat...Hmm
Hope you are well today PaperMonster?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 22/09/2021 19:48

Hello, yes thank you I’m fine @73kittycat73 other than being tired - still getting used to working again! But I am loving it and I’ve not felt that way about work for many years!

Succumbed and had half a doughnut tonight. Wasn’t the best!! But they were winking at me so I gave in!! Got my busiest two days coming up so having an early night!

73kittycat73 · 22/09/2021 23:10

Glad everything is OK. Smile It's really nice to hear you are enjoying yourself so much at work. Sometimes I read on here about rude people, and people not being very nice outside anymore, then I read things like this, and the nice lady in the shop today who offered to get me a basket as I was carrying a lot of items (Didn't work there.) and feel that the human race is ok after all. Smile
Don't worry about the doughnut! Grin Shame it wasn't scrumptious. I can recommend Morrisons strawberry jam ones though if you stuck in the future. Smile
Good luck with your busy days. Enjoy your early night! Smile

You’d have loved the meter reader who visited my house yesterday @73kittycat73 - young bloke, proper chatty! We had a good old chinwag. Just downright proper nice, made my day really! People are fundamentally good I think.
