I use them with milk but i have also used them in vanilla protein yogurts. They are nice.
Also lovely in iced coffees

BorderlineHappy · 09/09/2021 21:24

We have a shop called Dealz here but its your £ shop.
We get good stuff in there. Not really worth ordering off the internet.

Finally got my sons communion date, its the 19 th September/
Not much time so was out today buying him clothes.

6 1/2 miles is brilliant @PaperMonster.

PaperMonster · 09/09/2021 21:30

Now I’ve been made redundant I don’t get to a big town (also with arm I currently can’t drive to our nearest big town) and I miss having a nosey in the pound shops! Although we’ve a B&M nearby and that usually sells random things!

Communion Day is something to look forward to!

Am impressing myself with all this walking Grin. Let’s hope it has a positive effect on my HBA1C!!!

you usually use syrups as well as milk.
Six and a half miles today. Busy day tomorrow with work.

Thank you. Smile good going on the walking. Star
Thanks too BorderlineHappy. Smile Glad you got your date sorted.
I'd love to go to Home Bargains. Unfortunately my mum can't get to our one. It's much too far away for her mobility scooter and if she got a lift there and back she can't walk round the shop. I did 'phone and ask if they did the mobility scooters to use in the shop but they don't.

That’s a great shame @73kittycat73. I do love having a tootle around shops like that and seeing what bargains I can pick up!

How are we all today? Any plans for the weekend? Not really much planned. I’m church cleaning in the morning which I enjoy, and I walk an awful lot whilst doing it! Talking of which, today has been a record breaker in walking terms!! I clean someone’s house on a Friday morning then work at school. I’ve clocked up 13 miles. It’s no wonder my feet are aching and I’m exhausted!!

73kittycat73 · 11/09/2021 00:50

You're going to wear your legs away soon! Grin Lol
As for plans, I'm going to sort out my food cupboards, move a few bits around, try and makes some space. Do a bit of general cleaning. No visit from my nieces or brother this weekend as they are on holiday. Helped mum sort out her winter wardrobe today.
Which bit of the church do you clean? All the pews and stuff?
Don't forget to have a rest too! I hope you have a fantastic morning. Smile

Thanks @73kittycat73 I’m feeling it this morning! I think I’ll need a nap this avvo!! Today I’ll Hoover the pews and there’s a florist coming to set up for a wedding so will tidy up after them. I polished and got rid of the cobwebs a couple of days ago! It’s very peaceful so I love it!

I have a kitchen cupboard that really needs a sort out, but it can wait! Do your nieces come over often? How old are they?

BorderlineHappy · 11/09/2021 11:41

Does anyone find when you cook chicken breasts for the week to use they go very dry.

Im trying to do some food prep so i have food there already cooked.

PaperMonster · 11/09/2021 21:21

@BorderlineHappy yes, I do. Not found a way of avoiding it either.

@73kittycat73 I saw this and thought of you: luciedecor.com/products/christmas-themed-fence-decoration?utm_source=CBO+%7C+SANTA+%7C+INTERESTS+%7C+GARDEN&utm_medium=SANTA+%7C+IMAGE+1&utm_campaign=SANTA+%7C+CBO+%7C+GARDEN%2BFENCE%2BDEER&fbclid=IwAR2HkMEZQElWLUi2RKzDGTyOfqqgjYfsLsJzgqi5dH-SPbUK6eLcNEpE9aU

Went to watch the wedding today- it was lovely!

73kittycat73 · 11/09/2021 23:58

Hope you had your nap and enjoyed it. Smile My nieces are 12 and 14. We used to babysit them a lot but now they are older we don't see them as much as they'd rather be out with their mates. Grin
Thanks for posting the fence decoration! Xmas Grin Love it.
Good luck with the food prep BorderlineHappy. I wish I was that organized. lol I don't know about the chicken, sorry.
Sorted out the boxes in the downstairs hallway today, got winter shoes out and put the summer sandles away. We'll have an Indian summer now...lol
Forgot to do my kitchen cupboard. I was tired though. I couldn't sleep last night and was still up at 5am watching Suicide Squad again. Oh, and Changing Rooms. Grin (Wish they'd also bring back How Clean Is Your House? Loved that program!)
Do eiither of you have any plans for tomorrow?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 12/09/2021 09:15

Hi, no plans other than baking some biscuits! Currently enjoying a lie-in as OH is working and daughter’s on a sleepover!

Every time I see Christmas stuff advertised now I think of you @73kittycat73!! I saw a toilet set on Amazon this morning that was Father Christmas!!!!

You sound very organised! We’ve been having very warm muggy weather, so am still in sandals here!! I do love my boots so am looking forward to being able to wear them again - mostly DMs.

Have a lovely day all!

BorderlineHappy · 12/09/2021 17:59

I have my Inherent Metabolic Disorder appointment tomorrow.
I might actually find out what it is Grin

73kittycat73 · 12/09/2021 20:17

Ooh, biscuits. Sounds nice. I hope you enjoyed your lie in, you deserve it! Star I like being thought of with Christmas things. Grin
Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow BorderlineHappy. One tip I read on here is to record the appointment on your phone so if you do forget something that was said, you can go over it later. Best wishes to you. Smile
I'm going to go to bed soon. I know, it's so early. Grin I messed up my sleeping again yesterday and ended up not getting much sleep. I've been tired all day so an early night wouldn't go amiss. I just hope I don't wake in the early hours and can't get back to sleep! Confused

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 12/09/2021 20:19

@73kittycat73 Oh thats a good idea. I will do that.

PaperMonster · 12/09/2021 20:41

Hope all goes well @BorderlineHappy!

Wishing you a good night’s sleep @73kittycat73. The biscuits were nice - I had one then quickly went off for a stroll!! Really they’re for OH and daughter.

I’ve got my cortisone jab in the morning. Fingers crossed it works!!

BorderlineHappy · 13/09/2021 15:35

Got my bloods done it's down to 34 from 58.
I'm gobsmacked it's that low.
I'm waiting to see consultant and they want me to get genetic screening

PaperMonster · 13/09/2021 17:13

Wow @BorderlineHappy - that’s your HBA1C? That’s bloody amazing! Is the genetic screening blood tests or other stuff as well? I had to do my own blood test a couple of months ago for a genetic condition- that was an interesting morning!! Thankfully it was negative too!!

I’ve had my jab. Strange sensation and my arm is quite achy now. Immunosuppressed for the next month. I should start to feel the effects within a month - so basically I should get more movement back! Fingers crossed!

BorderlineHappy · 13/09/2021 17:41

Ye it's micocondrial genetic screening.
They want to rule out any more surprises.
Because I'm deaf and have diabetes and have a gammy eye👀 they want to make sure that's all it is.
Ah @PaperMonster that is brilliant.Hopefully that does the job.

PaperMonster · 13/09/2021 18:30

@BorderlineHappy - I guess it’s best to see if there is anything else that’s going to come and surprise you. Fingers crossed there’s no nasties in store for you! I was tested for haemochromatosis, which can lead to Diabetes. We’ve recently discovered that we have it in the family and I needed to see if I was a carrier.

The msk lady didn’t warn me that my arm would hurt this evening! Leaving my pain relief until bedtime. Talking of which, @73kittycat73, did you get your early night and a good sleep?

73kittycat73 · 13/09/2021 20:47

Hello to you both. Smile Congrats on that Hba1C score BorderlineHappy ! I bet you were well pleased? I really hope the further screening doesn't throw up anything. If it does though, forewarned is fore armed, as they say. Good luck with the screening.
Sorry to hear your arm is really hurting you PaperMonster . I hope it wears off soon. Will you have to isolate now, being immunosuppressed? I really hope it works for you and you can get a bit more movement back.
I did go to bed right after I posted but laid awake for ages. Looked at the time and it was gone 1am. I got up and read a magazine, Take A Breaks' Fate and Fortune, and promptly scared myself! lol Managed to drop off around 2am ish.

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 14/09/2021 10:42

Oh no @73kittycat73, that’s not good! No, I don’t need to isolate. I’m in school later but for the next two days I’ll be outdoors so not too bad. The msk person was more concerned about me overusing my arm when cleaning! But I’ve managed when it’s been really painful so I should be ok. It’s not my dominant arm so I don’t need to stretch it or anything.

I still am really impressed by that drop in HBA1C by borderline. It’s amazing!!

BorderlineHappy · 14/09/2021 11:26

@PaperMonster at least you dont have to isolate and hopefully your arm is feeling better this morning.

I tried on my clothes for my sons communion on Sunday. And they are swimming on me.
Luckily i have other clothes i can wear.
Even though the weight is sticking a bit i dont mind.I can see it in other areas.
Like being able to bend down and get back upGrin

Hope everyone has a lovely day

73kittycat73 · 14/09/2021 12:02

Good you don't have to isolate then PaperMonster. Smile I hope, as you'll be outside, that you don't have the weather we're having then - rain! I hope you manage to stay dry.
It's lucky it's not your dominant arm though too. Me and my mum always tease each other, I'm right handed and she's left. She says she uses 'the right arm,' and I tease her about using the real right arm! Grin
I bet it felt great that your clothes were too big BorderlineHappy ! Well, apart from having to find more. It really helps when you notice your hard work paying off, doesn't it? Well done! Star

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 14/09/2021 20:30

That’s a great feeling @BorderlineHappy!

Thankfully not too much rain today @73kittycat73 Some drizzle this evening when I did a camp fire with my Rainbows but we didn’t let that put us off!!

73kittycat73 · 14/09/2021 20:59

Glad you didn't get caught out then. Smile
Did you have marshmallows at the campfire? I tried them once (Melted over a fire) years ago, it was delicious!
