Aww, sorry to hear you couldn't get back to sleep. I'm a right night owl anyway and could easily do my housework at night, but obviously can't because of neighbours! I'm just more productive at night. I hope you had a better sleep last night?
As for plans, saw my older brother this morning and had a slice of his Birthday cake. Grin He's usually very disapproving of me but today he didn't tut once. Must have been his birthday! lol Then my younger brother and niece came round. It was nice to see them. They never tut at me either. Grin
Finally got a Hermes delivery guy to take my parcel today. Had to get in touch with Amazon twice about it. The driver was almost out the gate (Had just dropped and run.) and I had to call him back. He checked then took the parcel. At least it's done now.
Tomorrow mum wants to give the garden a go over. It's supposed to be warm, so should be nice. Any plans yourself?
You ok @PaperMonster ? I imagine you are back at work and very busy?

Hello, hello! Yes, sorry, I have been busy. I’ve started working at my daughter’s school this week - and having not worked since January it’s been quite exhausting. Loved it though! Am also picking up extra bits of work from next week, which is great - helping some pensioners in their homes. So, extremes of age groups there! Plus I’ve had a couple of late nights - went to a talk and also a late night haircut!

Sorry to hear your mum’s been a bother. Hope both she and you are ok.

Been to visit friends we haven’t seen since before Covid for a bbq today, was lovely. Tomorrow we’re off for an explore! Tomorrow we’re off for a day out with extended family.

Working locally also means that I’m walking even more! It’s amazing!!

BorderlineHappy · 04/09/2021 20:03

@PaperMonster ah that's fantastic news.Delighted you got some work. And it's great seeing people you haven't seen in a while
@73kittycat73 yes o had a great kip last night and even got up and done my walk.

Good luck with the garden tomorrow hope you get the weather

Thanks @BorderlineHappy - so happy to be working locally! The job I was made redundant from was a 45 minute drive away and I then drove all over to see my students. Being able to walk to work and chat to people on the way is just lovely and it suits me whilst my arm is out of order!!

PaperMonster · 05/09/2021 20:53

Hope you managed a good day in the garden @73kittycat73. We had a lovely day out and the weather was beautiful!

73kittycat73 · 05/09/2021 21:09

Hi PaperMonster, Smile You have been busy! Glad you like your new job. Star Well done on all that walking! I hope the BBQ was nice? Me and mum (Yes, thankfully she's been better today.) were pottering in the garden. Was a lovely warm day. Got a lot of weeding done.
Just seen your update, glad you had a lovely day. Smile It's supposed to get up to 27 degrees here by Wednesday. (Then cooler and rain, but we won't mention that yet. Grin )
Glad you had a better nigh too BorderlineHappy. Smile Well done on your walk. Star
Is DGS at school now? My nieces don't start back till the end of the week.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 06/09/2021 10:10

Yes dga is at playschool and my 3 D's are back also.
Mine are off since end of May/June though

73kittycat73 · 06/09/2021 10:37

Are you enjoying the peace and quiet today then? Grin I hope you have a great time. Sun is shinning here again today so will be back in the garden later. Might as well enjoy it while we can!

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 06/09/2021 20:27

It’s been gorgeous hasn’t it? Looked so dull this morning but was so warm!

Had a lovely day today, working. Walked about seven miles whilst doing so and had a lovely Epsom salt bath when I came home. Easy day tomorrow as I’m only doing an hour’s work!

Hope you’ve all had a lovely day!

73kittycat73 · 06/09/2021 23:08

Hi. Smile Yes, it's been a lovely day here, but supposed to get up to 30 degrees here tomorrow! glup I've enjoyed the nice weather but that's too warm!
Glad you had such a lovely day. Smile Sounds like you are really getting on well with your new role. Always helps when you enjoy your job.
Am jealous of the bath! My flat is so small I only have a shower in it. I do miss baths. Used to sit in one for hours with a nice drink and some chocolate. Grin Oh, and on occasion, candles.
Job for tomorrow is to clean out all the bird feeding stations. There are hardly any left now (Birds). I'm sure they shouldn't have headed south this early! lol

BorderlineHappy · 07/09/2021 14:48

Gorgeous day here.
I had a chicken fillet roll earlier and now I'm bloated.
I never learn.

Speaking of the C word,we've booked to go away a few days after Christmas.
I'm really looking forward to it.

PaperMonster · 07/09/2021 16:16

Wow it’s been so very hot today! Am exhausted by it!

We’ve still plenty of squabbling starlings up here!!

@BorderlineHappy that’s exciting! Whereabouts are you off to?

BorderlineHappy · 07/09/2021 17:06

@PaperMonster we are off to Portlaoise. Its a lovely hotel,we have been a few times before.
Just to break this horrible year.

73kittycat73 · 07/09/2021 18:59

I never usually learn, but I'm trying to BorderlineHappy. Grin Did you enjoy it though at least? Just Googled Portlaoise, looks lovely. Just at the right time too, between Christmas and New Year. Gives you more to look forward to doesn't it, after the Christmas Day excitement. I hope you have a wonderful relaxing time. Xmas Smile
Have you cooled down yet PaperMonster? It was very sunny all day here but there was a nice cooling breeze to keep it bearable, was lovely in the garden. I have all the birds feed station stuff soaking ready to clean tomorrow and put in the shed for another year. Did you manage a nap, or have you not had time?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 07/09/2021 20:16

@BorderlineHappy I’ve had to Google it also! Looks really lovely! And definitely something to look forward to!

No nap for me @73kittycat73!! Absolutely no breeze here. A friend came for me at 6.30pm and I opened the front door and it felt like opening the oven door!!

73kittycat73 · 07/09/2021 23:24

Lol! My flat is usually hotter than outside, faces the sun. I'm sat in front of a fan right now...Actually, in the Christmas bargain thread a PP posted a link to Amazon for those towels that stay cool. (You rinse them under a tap, then ring them out and they stay cool for hours.) It was buy one set, get another set free. I suffer from hot flushes so thought they'd be good for those too.
Sorry to hear you didn't get a nap. Hopefully you'll have a good night tonight though. Smile
I've found a small animal charity through the nextdoor.com site that's only in the next road to me and we are going to drop off the food we had for George tomorrow. Still no sight or sound of him. If only we knew he was OK, we wouldn't mind if he's chosen someone else to live with. It's the not knowing isn't it? We have also decided that we are going to look into getting another cat after Christmas. Learned out lesson though, keep all internal doors shut!

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 08/09/2021 17:42

Hows everyone today.I didnt do a thing today,i couldnt be arsed.
And im finding it hard to get out of bed in teh morning cause its still dark out Grin

PaperMonster · 08/09/2021 21:43

@73kittycat73 those towels sound useful right now! Another scorcher today!! Saps my energy!! I do sleep really well generally, so that’s good.

So sorry George hasn’t returned. You do know it’s Sod’s law that if you get another cat, he’ll turn up!! But it is also fab that you’ve found that charity too!

Hi @BorderlineHappy! I’ve done an hour at school and have ironed and watched Catch Up TV today. That’s all I’ve had energy for!! I’ve walked five miles on school run/working. Did think if it cooled down I’d go for a walk this evening but it was still too warm!

73kittycat73 · 08/09/2021 22:55

We all need duvet days BorderlineHappy > Grin Did you enjoy it though? That's the main thing.
Yup, could do with the towels now PaperMonster. It's like a furnace in here. Got the fan on again.
Lol, about George and sods law!
I Had a bag full of pennies I asked my mum to exchange in the penny sorter (Don't know the official name.) in Sainsbury's today. I thought there'd be about £3.00, and my mum thought £5.00. It actually came out as £10.40! I put it to good use though. We both had an ice cream from the ice cream van. Very nice it was too. Grin
The weather is supposed to be all change here tomorrow, rain and thunder storms.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 09/09/2021 07:32

I bought a the skinny pancake mix the other day and the zero maple syrup it was surprisingly nice.
Pancakes are decent enough and they actually look and taste like pancakes.

And since they're so low in calories I had 2 turkey rashers as well.
And I went for a quick walk early.

I can feel myself slipping back and I don't want that

73kittycat73 · 09/09/2021 19:29

I've not tried the pancake mix but I do like the maple syrup. I enjoy the golden syrup one too. Do you buy yours from The Skinny Food Co? I used to until someone in the Christmas bargains thread recommended Cherryz . They sell the syrups for £2.00 a bottle, same size too.
Did you enjoy your walk? It was raining here today. No thunder yet though!
I've totally slipped back. I've been doing the things you're suppose to do from the book recommended to me and I'm doing worse than ever! I'm so totally going to put the weight back on I lost...Sad
You are supposed to do a chapter a week but I'm going to read the next one early in case there is something in there that can help. If I find something, I'll let you know!

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 09/09/2021 19:30

Oh yeah, Cherryz does the Skinny bars too, for £1.00 a box and they have a good selection.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 09/09/2021 19:49

No i got mine from a health food shop.My dp buys stuff in there and they are nice.
Its not the skinny syrup its another brand.

The mix was 6 euro and i bought the skinny meat seasoning.Im trying that out tomorrow.

You can get them fairly cheap here.Usually about a fiver for the large coffee syrups.

73kittycat73 · 09/09/2021 20:08

Oh I see. Grin Well I hope the seasoning tastes nice.
I've looked at the coffee syrups, but I know it sounds really silly, but I don't know how to use them! Blush Do you use them instead of milk? Or with milk?
I usually have two cups of coffee a day. I like the Nescafe Mocha sachets. The double choc one is yuk and doesn't taste nearly as nice. However, Nescafe have stopped making the Mocha so I have to buy it for an inflated price from Amazon. I don't mind really, as long as I get my coffee! Grin

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 09/09/2021 20:36

@BorderlineHappy I love turkey rashers! Not had any for ages! I’ve not heard of the pancake mix. I have some maple syrup which is ok but not as good as normal stuff I don’t think. I make pancakes from arrowroot.

@73kittycat73 you usually use syrups as well as milk.

Six and a half miles today. Busy day tomorrow with work.
