Glad the table top sale went well. Sounds like it was enjoyable. Smile Glad you had the nice weather for it too.
I didn't realise that having diabetes might interfere with pain medication. Did they say in what way? (Effectiveness? Etc.) Good that the pain is easing a bit. Are they going to give you more physio to help too?
Yay, go for the planner! Xmas Grin I get mine from Amazon. On the Christmas boards there's also talk of apps than help keep track of what you've bought on your phone. I'm on my PC so can't do that, and obviously don't go out to the shops anyway. Might be a worth a look?

BorderlineHappy · 29/08/2021 11:30

Oh talking of Christmas,I can't be the only one waiting on Marks and Spencers Christmas booklet.
I love ordering from there.

Also I said I wasn't doing a roast this week.
So of course I bought a lump of roast beef that feeds 11.
Hope everyone's hungry 😂😂

PaperMonster · 29/08/2021 14:38

@73kittycat73 he said it was something to do with us having an increased risk of damage to liver I think, or it might have been kidneys. One of them anyway! And giving me anything stronger would increase the risk quite a bit. (As an aside, I can’t remember what Diabetes meds my mum is on, but it’s damaged her kidneys and she’s on some medical trial because she was involved in the trial for the meds initially).

I’ve just had a lovely nap. And now I’m off for a roast with @BorderlineHappy. Grin

Haha @PaperMonster you're more than welcome.
I've loads left.,😂🍠

73kittycat73 · 29/08/2021 21:33

All round to BorderlineHappy's then. Grin I tried, for the first time, last year, M & S duck fat roast potatoes. Now my mum does a mean roast potato, but these were so close! Nicest shop bought roasties I've ever had. My brother shops in M & S so I asked him to pick me some up whilst he's in there next. He said he did buy me some but ended up eating them! lol Too good to resist.
Is there anything specific you are wanting in the booklet BorderlineHappy, or do you just like it as a Christmas fix?
I'd like to get the Brussels sprouts cake from Asda this year. Tried last year but it was out of stock. It's a chocolate cake. I don't like fruit cake or Christmas pudding so thought that would be a nice alternative.
Thanks for letting me know about the pain meds PaperMonster. I never knew that. I wonder if ibuprofen is ok to take? Sorry to hear about your mum. I hope the trial goes really well for her. Flowers
Anybody doing anything tomorrow? I'm helping my mum move a few storage boxes to get to her autumn/winter clothing. Still dull grey days forecast here for the next week, temps around 19-21 degrees. Summer, where have you been?!

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 30/08/2021 06:39

The last couple of years we've ordered the turkey and ham.And some Christmas food.
Really nice. And we bought the rainbow cake one year andy son had that as his birthday cake😂

Oh my I did are back in school today.Yhank fuck.
So I'm sitting here,I've done my 20 mins exercise and I'm having a coffee

Enjoying the last few blissful moments before they get up and kill each other.😂

BorderlineHappy · 30/08/2021 06:40

My kids are back in school that should say.
I'm obviously so excited I can't type properly.

PaperMonster · 30/08/2021 08:28

@73kittycat73 thanks. She’s not ill with it thankfully, but being on the trial does mean that she gets more medical attention than she would do otherwise!

Ibuprofen is fine for Diabetics. Sadly it did nothing for my pain. I have IBS also and ibuprofen can be a problem with that but I don’t seem to experience IBS issues when I take it.

Today is school shoe shopping. My very least favourite activity.

PaperMonster · 30/08/2021 22:15

Goodness me - shoe shopping was ridiculously easy! I’m feeling a little uneasy about this!!! It’s never that easy. Plus I had a full loyalty card, so got them for half price.

But I’ve had a rotten day. My arm has really hurt today and tired me out so I took to my bed! Not even been for a walk.

Has everyone else had a good Bank Holiday?

73kittycat73 · 31/08/2021 00:15

Glad to hear your mum is OK. :) My mum took part in a trial too. She had breast cancer and they were testing to see if one week of radiation was better, or just as good as three weeks. Turned out it was. It was a 10 year study and she had a mammogram every year for monitoring, otherwise she would have just had them every three years, so I'm glad she took part. Luckily the cancer hasn't come back. :)
Lol at the easy show shopping! Grin Good going with the half price! Always good to get a bargain. The Christmas bargain thread in the Christmas section on here has spoiled me. (Thread, in case you need it: Bargains )
So sorry to hear about your arm, and about how tired it made you. Sensible idea to go for a lie down. I hope it feels better for you asap. Flowers
I ended up not doing the heavy lifting (Storage boxes) today as my mums legs were hurting her, so she didn't want to. We are going to tidy up the garden tomorrow though. Put the patio furniture away and do a bit of weeding.
How are you today BorderlineHappy? I hope you had a nice bank holiday?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 31/08/2021 09:47

It’s kind of reassuring when they’re on trials isn’t it? You know that they’re getting more medical attention than they would normally do. Hurrah for the cancer not returning and let’s hope it never does!

Lazy last day of the holidays today before chaos reigns from tomorrow!

Arm still a bit more pained than it has been today, but I’m going to potter about. I’ve been asked to take photos of a village event this afternoon- not that I’m a great photographer or anything! But it will be nice to see folk!

BorderlineHappy · 31/08/2021 12:00

@PaperMonster that's sounds good.Get you out and hopefully your mind off the pain.

@73kittycat73 great news about your mum.

Not a BH here but 2 kids are back in school and the other fella is back Tomorrow.
Woo hoo.

Had to go to bed early last night. The fat girl in me wanted to eat everything and that wasn't happening 😂🍠.

PaperMonster · 31/08/2021 15:17

Love that last sentence @BorderlineHappy!!

Just been amazed! There’s a couple of women in the village here put on entertainment for the older people. I’ve photographed the food they provide - absolutely amazing! They pay something like a fiver for entertainment and food. Looks amazing! They offered me a cake - it was two bites big as it’s part of more desserts they get. It was lovely. And such a lovely thing to do!

73kittycat73 · 31/08/2021 20:34

Yes, it was very reassuring to have her monitored like that. Good luck for tomorrow! Star How did the picture taking go? Sorry to hear your arm is still giving you gyp. Hopefully the pottering took your mind off it?
Ooh, just seen your update-Sounds like a lovely afternoon. Smile
I've been waiting all day for someone from Hermes to come and pick up a return parcel for Amazon. It said as long as you request a return before 11pm, which I did yesterday, they would come the next working day, which I took to be today. No one has turned up and when I checked the return status, the progress bar isn't up to the pick up bit. Bit annoyed that I wasted my day listening out for the doo. Grrr. lol Hopefully they turn up tomorrow.
Thanks BorderlineHappy. So you have peace/the house to yourself tomorrow then? I'd enjoy a nice solitary bubble bath and then watch rubbish on TV. Grin The fat girl in me has been out all week. Got a book yesterday though about binge eating so I've started on that. Hopefully that will help.
Did do the garden. Not looking forward to later on in the year though. My mum used to store her Xmas decs in the hallway on top of a cupboard. The cupboard has gone now so she put all her decorations in large storage tubs in the shed. Said tubs are now under patio furniture and exercise equipment! I suppose it'll be exercise trying to get it all out...Xmas Grin

I have the house to myself and dp for about 2 hours tomorrow [ooer].
Ds is off Thursday and in Friday. And then its full steam ahead for everyone from next week.

Dp was made redundant a few months back and as much as i love having him here,i miss having the whole house to myself.

I might take my hearing aid out tomorrow for the ultimate experience 😂

73kittycat73 · 31/08/2021 21:09

Well I hope you enjoy your semi-peace.. Grin I'd go with the hearing aid idea...lol
Good luck to your DH for finding a new job. Star

@73kittycat73 i know but then who would i have driving me around.🤣🚕🚕🚕

PaperMonster · 01/09/2021 17:06

@BorderlineHappy that made me giggle re the hearing aid!

I’ve walked almost eight miles whilst working today so that’s good! But getting up early has tired me out!! Been very good with low carb today.

BorderlineHappy · 02/09/2021 16:25

Had my last zoom meeting regarding diabetes today.
Me and another fella where talking about being stuck at a certain weight.
And the nurse was like, you have done great, dont undo all the work etc.

I dont think people who dont struggle with their weight understand.
How hard it is when the weightloss stops.
Also the cravings are so bad some days.

Anyway my gs started playschool yesterday,he loves it.

73kittycat73 · 02/09/2021 21:13

Hi, Just popped on to say a quick, 'I'm not ignoring you.' I'm with Sky and their internet stopped working last night. Seems to be OK for now.
Also I feel totally drained now as have been nursing my mum today. Long story.
Hope you are both OK, and I will be back to normal service tomorrow!

73kittycat73 · 03/09/2021 10:54

Hi. Smile Wasn't in a good place to post last night, was a bit fed up with my mum's antics. I say a bit...Angry If it's not one thing with her, it's another. I feel bad saying that but it seems like it's the truth lately. We almost had an ambulance out last night (NHS 111) but when they suggested that she felt much better and said not to...Grr. Right, I'll stop moaning...lol
Are you back at work now PaperMonster? Well done on the carbs. Star I'm trying to cut down today.
Yes BorderlineHappy, that's been my downfall. I don't know how to maintain. It's either restrict (Diet) or go mad. Sad I understand about the cravings! I think if I could eat sweet or savory food for the rest of my life, I'd happily go sweet.
Glad your GS is happy! Smile I hope he has a fabulous time.

BorderlineHappy · 03/09/2021 16:21

@73kittycat73 hope you and your mum are better today.

I had a bad night last night.long long time since i couldnt sleep.
Im knackered today and i want to eat my weight in chinese food and chocolate.

I will be alright i havent the money for either Grin.

Seen my gs in his little uniform from playschool.Oh he melted my heart.

My ds got the vaccine yesterday. His arm was a bit sore and he was tired this morning. But otherwise he was fine.
Hes 13. They are rolling it over here from 12 to 15 at the minute.

73kittycat73 · 03/09/2021 19:15

Hi BorderlineHappy. Smile Yup, mum is definitely better today...Hmm I feel a bit calmer now though! Grin
Sorry to hear you couldn't sleep. I know it's horrible. Just lying there thinking I only have X amount of hours left to sleep, shall I get up? Is it better to stay in bed, etc? I hope you get a better night tonight. Flowers Do you know the reason why you couldn't sleep, or was it just one of those things?
Aww, DGS sounds adorable. Me and my mum were only talking today how quickly they grow up. It seems only a few years ago my nieces were around all summer holidays playing in the sand pit. Now they find it boring here and want to hang out with their mates! lol
Glad your DS is ok. Are they still giving the teenagers two jabs?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 03/09/2021 22:33

I woke up to go the loo but couldnt get settled again.Even with the mask on.
So i got up and had a fry Grin

Yes its 2 jabs here.

@73kittycat73 Any plans for the weekend?
