Well done on the gym visit. Star Sounds like fun splashing in the puddles. Grin I bet the ducklings were sweet. Enjoy your KFC!
I've decided to go back on the diet today. Weighed myself again today and again have gone up. Blush 11st 11.2lbs, another 2.2lbs on. About to hop on the air walker...

20 mins air walker done. Gathered all my sweet treats to take into my mums. Will order grapes from Sainsbury's as a snack.
Have a really good day everyone! Flowers

Oh that’s so sweet of your mum with her cat! I have an old fleece sling that I used with my daughter and I keep thinking that I’d like to make it into something for her - but maybe I should keep it until our cat’s very elderly and carry her in it! She might actually like me by then!

Hairdresser must be back to their old opening hours as I can’t get through. Try again tomorrow!

Insomnia sucks. I had a bout during the lockdown. Was awful. Wishing you a good night’s sleep very soon!

Right, off to tackle an untidy house! Weather can’t make its mind up here so my washing is alternately being shone on, then rained on!!

I suffered from insomnia for years.
I found ASMR a great help.
Didn't work all the time though.
I have roast beef on for today,seems the day for it.

@WreckTangled enjoy your KFC.
@73kittycat73 that's the spirit.

73kittycat73 · 10/08/2021 19:31

Sorry to hear you had insomnia too PaperMonster, and very glad for you that you are over it (?). Good luck with the house work. Are you one of those people that loves it or loathes it? I usually put it off as much as possible. Grin Once I get going though it's not too bad, and I do like to see a nice clean house afterwards. Hope the drying is OK!
I had a bad bout of it in childhood too BorderlineHappy. Up until the last few years I used to have the opposite, couldn't keep my eyes open. I just get really frustrated just lying there. Counter productive I know. I know your supposed to get up and do something like reading but that just makes me more awake! I have rereferred myself back for CBT about it, and my binge eating. I have my telephone assessment on Friday.
I hope you enjoyed your roast beef? Smile

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 10/08/2021 22:17

@BorderlineHappy I could just eat roast beef now! Hope it was good!

Hope the CBT is helpful @73kittycat73. As someone who normally sleeps a lot, the insomnia last year was a shock! I did all the usual things and I found an app called Pzizz really helpful. Occasionally now my arm wakes me up and I use the Pzizz to get me back to sleep.

Went on a short walk tonight - I was out for 90 mins but only walked for 30! Bumped into so many people who wanted to chat!! Which is lovely!

PaperMonster · 10/08/2021 22:20

Got downstairs tidied. Need to blitz the bathroom tomorrow!! I like tidying and cleaning. Just as well really as I’ve kind of got myself some cleaning jobs!! I can manage cleaning with my arm as it is, so doing these will help to eke out my redundancy money, which will give me more time for my arm to heal. Then I can start looking for a job!

73kittycat73 · 11/08/2021 11:21

You just reminded me, have you finished all the painting?
For sleep, I sometimes listen to the sleep stories on Calm.com. Only works the first time I hear them though! Can't get the same effect by listening to them twice.
It's nice that you met so many nice people on your walk. Smile

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 11/08/2021 13:55

@73kittycat73 have I heck!!!! I expect I’ll still be painting in 12 months!!! OH and daughter are away next weekend so I will crack on again!! Still seven doors to do - I ran out of paint just before we went away, so I’ll go and get some next week. I also fancy Frenchic-ing my back door, but that’ll have to wait!

Just made some low carb pancakes using arrowroot, topped with pecans and Skinny maple syrup - de-lish! Am thinking of making a savoury pancake for tea with the remains of the batter.

Honestly I love our village. So many very fab people here!

Isn’t that odd about only being able to sleep on the first listen? Curious how the brain works!!

WreckTangled · 11/08/2021 16:40

Gym this morning and will hit 12000 steps soon. We went to a national trust place. The weather is just right, not too hot and not too cold.

PaperMonster · 11/08/2021 18:16

Well done @WreckTangled! Hurrah for good weather too! Been like that today but then started raining late afternoon.

73kittycat73 · 11/08/2021 18:46

Hi PaperMonster. Smile Seven doors?! That will keep you busy. Those pancakes sound nice. It's good you like your neighbours, always helps! Grin
I think I concentrate too much on the second listen.
Hi WreckTangled. Smile Good going on the gym. Star I did my air walker again today. Glad you had good weather. It was OK here today too. Had some sunshine.

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 13:18

Well done on the air Walker! I haven't done any steps today but have eaten well...however I'm having Chinese tonight! Ds' choice. It's awful for my levels but I'm really looking forward to it Grin

BorderlineHappy · 12/08/2021 14:00

@WreckTangled have some Chinese for me.

Done my walking but I've been starving the last few days.
I actually might get a takeaway tomorrow.
I feel like a good feed

73kittycat73 · 12/08/2021 19:16

Thanks WreckTangled. Smile Haven't done todays yet. George came home (The cat) and I saw a back, going out of my mums flat and into mine straight under the bed, where he's been since. lol I have a feeling he'll come out when we've all gone to bed. (I reckon my snoring will force him out. Grin ) Well done on eating well so far, and I hope you really enjoy your take away. Do you have a favorite dish? I always get sweet and sour sauce and chips. Yum. Smile
Hi BorderlineHappy. Sorry to hear you've been so hungry. Do you still have monthlies? It could be PMS? Well done on the walking! Star What cuisine would you go for, for your take away?
Hi PaperMonster Smile How's the cleaning going?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 12/08/2021 19:20

@73kittycat73 no monthlies thank god.
Chinese is usually my takeaway of choice but I might broaden my horizons tomorrow 🤣

PaperMonster · 12/08/2021 19:29

Mmmmmmmmm, Chinese! Cleaning’s going good! Did 1.8 miles cleaning elsewhere today!!

And I’ve had my hair cut, hurrah! Not coloured sadly but that needs to wait!!

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 19:36

We had: vegetable spring rolls, chicken chow mein, salt and pepper chicken and crispy shredded beef. It was delicious! I'm out for lunch tomorrow too Blush will go to the gym in the morning and sweat out the garlic

Our Cat is very sociable, he's never hidden from anyone but I find that seems to be quite unusual.

73kittycat73 · 12/08/2021 20:02

Ooh, do let us know what you have BorderlineHappy. Then we can all drool. Grin
Well done on that cleaning PaperMonster! Star So you like your new haircut? It always helps doesn't it?! Grin
Just did my 20mins on the walker WreckTangled. I felt guilty about not doing it so you spurred me on. Smile
Oh vegetable spring rolls, I love them! I hope you enjoy your lunch out tomorrow (I love garlic too.)
You cat sounds great. Still no movement from George.
I have a confession to make. I've ordered duck spring rolls in my shopping tomorrow. I never ate meat (Except sausages, my mum made me. Said I would go doo-lally if I didn't eat any meat, and she was quite right. Grin ) as I didn't like the flavour and texture, and because of ethical reasons. Well, I had chips cooked in duck fat last week and loved them. So I decided to try a bit of duck it's self. I didn't want a whole bird or wing or whatever you have as I only want a taste of it. So I found the spring rolls and ordered them.
Will let you know what I think of them tomorrow!

BorderlineHappy · 12/08/2021 20:46

@WreckTangled yum im drooling here.

@73kittycat73 oh i love duck spring rolls you will enjoy them.

@PaperMonster dont suppose you want to do mineGrin

PaperMonster · 12/08/2021 22:03

@BorderlineHappy I’d be more than happy to Smile

@WreckTangled that sounds so delicious!

@73kittycat73 very happy with my hair considering it desperately needs some highlights. Also had eyelashes done so now I actually look awake!! And I love duck!!

Two people have told me today that I look much more relaxed and happier now that I’m away from my old job! I shall absolutely take that!!

73kittycat73 · 13/08/2021 19:23

Hi all. Smile Well, I have news. George is no more. Here that is. He didn't come out from under the bed so we made sure the cat flap was locked. Around 2am I heard a loud noise I thought was coming from the garden. Looked out the window and saw nothing so presumed the noise had carried from somewhere else. Got up this morning, no sign of George anywhere and cat flap open. That noise I heard must have been him busting out. I reckon he's either right under our noses, or miles away. I'm really gutted, and worried for him. He is chipped. I posted on my local nextdoor forum in case anyone spots him. We are just holding out that someone finds him and takes him to the vet to be scanned, and will get in touch with us.
Silly boy, he had it made here! Lots of treats and soft beds to sleep on.
I hope he turns up soon. We have left some food down by the front door, with it open in case he is near, but it hasn't been touched all day.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 13/08/2021 19:58

@73kittycat73 ah i hope he comes back soon.
But knowing cats,hes cheating on you with his 2nd [or 3rd] family.

73kittycat73 · 13/08/2021 20:45

I can well imagine that BorderlineHappy! I just hope we get him home soon.
