@73kittycat73 these are in Tesco online in Britain

PaperMonster · 03/08/2021 20:23

Thanks @73kittycat73 - you sent us some glorious weather today! Daughter did more watersports and I went for a walk. Just the day for it! Then this evening she decided to go for a run! This has never happened before! So I had a walk to make sure she was ok. So about five miles today. Back to a beach tomorrow.

BorderlineHappy · 03/08/2021 20:41

@PaperMonster sounds like you are having a great time.

My eldest son babysat today so we could go out and get school supplies.
And we had a lovely lunch out.
I even had a brownie.
So nice to have time together and sit and chat.
Even though it lashed and he was under the heater and was roasting 😂.
We ended up moving as it was burning his bald head😂

I'm still feeling over the cost of school uniform. It's outrageous. £40 for a skirt Angry

I've ordered some cheesies online. They've got a new chilli flavour.

BorderlineHappy · 03/08/2021 20:59

My son is going in to 2nd year and he said don't bother buying him a new uniform as he barely wore the one from last year.
Saves me a bundle.
He gets his from a specialist shop so if I need stuff I can always get it.

PaperMonster · 04/08/2021 09:29

@BorderlineHappy it’s lovely thanks! And brownie, mmmmmmm!

@WreckTangled £40 for a skirt???? I’m assuming that’s secondary? That is just crazy. Mine’s going into Y6 this time, but am dreading the whole uniform issue next year as she has sensory issues (as do I). I’ve managed to get her a soft pinafore for this coming year whilst we’re away as I can’t always get them, and I can’t drive far at the mo with my arm.

Talking about my arm, it’s generally ok (ie moderate pain, limited range of movement) but the other night it just went as I was getting into bed and I was screaming for what felt like an age - cuddly toy stuffed in my mouth to bite into. I was worried the neighbours might hear!! It was dreadful. Then I just lay there for five minutes after cos my arm just wouldn’t move. It was awful. My daughter, who has seen me scream in pain with it before, was so scared.

WreckTangled · 04/08/2021 10:35

Yea it's secondary school. One of those ridiculous tartan skirts so no way you can get it elsewhere.

BorderlineHappy · 04/08/2021 10:54

@PaperMonster that sounds bloody awful.
Hope you get it sorted soon..

Finally dropped a size.
Bought 14/16 exercise trousers.
They are a wee bit snug but the next size up would have been too big.
Even though I had to get the top in my usual size.
I'm still delighted that I can see some movement.
Even had to buy new knickers as the other ones where too big.

73kittycat73 · 04/08/2021 10:58

Thank you for that BorderlineHappy. Smile Sorry, I did lol at burning his bald head! Grin My apologise. Mm, brownies...drools Was it nice?
£40.00 for a skirt WreckTangled?! Wow. That must sting a bit. Sad I hope you enjoy your cheeses! I was saying to my mum the other day, I wish I could love cheese as most people seem to. I couldn't just eat a piece from the block like she does. I like mild cheese on toast and pizza but apart from soft cheese that's about it. People seem to get such pleasure from it, I wish I did!
Glad the weather tuned out Ok PaperMonster. Smile So sorry to hear your arm was that painful. Ouch.
Did you go back to the beach?
Well, I did my fast day yesterday. :) I tried two Exante products. I had Chocolate Fudge Flavour Meal Replacement Bar for lunch. I couldn't taste much at all but my mum thought it was really chocolatey. It was a substantial bar though and it felt like I had 'eaten,' iyswim? I will buy again.
For tea I had Meal Replacement Sweet and Sour Noodles. Um, yeah...Tasted sweet I must admit. It was like eating slop. Will definitely not be ordering that again.
Actually I thought it disagreed with me as I woke at 4am with toilet troubles. Still feel a bit rough now but just had a phone call from my mum to say someone she was sat next to on Monday has had a positive result of a covid test. The person she was sat next to was negative but she's getting two tests to try ourselves so it might not be the noodles?

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 04/08/2021 10:59

Sorry, came out a bit jumbled. The person she was sat next to daughter was positive.

PaperMonster · 04/08/2021 18:25

@BorderlineHappy - great achievement with the smaller clothes! Yay!

@73kittycat73 I looked at the Exante stuff last night and was thinking the noodles looked good!!! Oh well! And fingers crossed it was the noodles that upset your tummy rather than Covid.

Another cracking day here. Not ventured far, just down to the pier this morning and then on a nearby beach this afternoon. Walked about three miles - hard work in the sand!!

73kittycat73 · 04/08/2021 19:04

It's not covid! Did a test, both me and mum, and we are negative,. I'm really glad as I have my hair appointment booked for Friday and I'm desperate to get it cut (Never liked the style it's in from the start.). Can still go ahead now. Smile
The noodles do look good don't they? It's lies, all lies I tell ya! Grin I have a apple crumble for tea on Friday, will let you know what that's like.
Glad you are enjoying the beach. Are the children still at sandcastle age? Well done on the walk anyway! Star How is your arm today?

BorderlineHappy · 04/08/2021 21:21

I'm finding it hard to stick to my calories.
I just want to get up and stuff my face .
I was doing so well and now I can feel my self slipping back in to bad habits.

73kittycat73 · 05/08/2021 00:07

Same BorderlineHappy! I was just coming on to say I don't think 5:2 will work for me. I've felt shaky all day but tried to ignore it and tell myself it's a trick of my mind. However, when I brushed my teeth earlier I felt very shaky and weak and dizzy so took my blood sugar. It was 2.9 so I snuck in my mums and found a large chocolate bar and ate that...Then a yogurt, then my meal replacement bar that was for Friday, then totally random, some peanuts and cashews! I think I'm going to just try and maintain for a while.
I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, you've got a lot going on at the moment. If you slip up that's OK. Maybe you just need to maintain for a while too?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 05/08/2021 06:10

I think type two on medication need to keep meals fairly regular as you can adjust to what you're eating? It's so tricky, all the food available is highly palatable and makes you crave more! Is there something you really want to eat 73kitty? Maybe we could suggest some alternatives

BorderlineHappy · 05/08/2021 06:14

@73kittycat73 yes I'll think I'll maintain for a week or ,2.

I was only moaning to my dp last night about it
He says he can see the weight loss,me not so much.

BorderlineHappy · 05/08/2021 06:16

@73kittycat73 pity about the 5.2.
Just keep plugging away.

73kittycat73 · 05/08/2021 12:16

Hi WreckTangled. Smile I just crave chocolate and cake all the time! Grin I've decided to try and maintain for a while for now anyway. My calories should be about 1600-1900 (Depending on exercise) a day. I'll have a good crack at it anyway.
BorderlineHappy, I found that the weight loss noticed all of a sudden. It just seemed to change over night one night, maybe that'll be the same for you? I had been losing weight for quite a while by that point.

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 05/08/2021 12:21

I seem to be losing from places like my ankles and wrists😂.
I'm waiting for the weight loss to hit the belly area. When that happens🎉🎉

PaperMonster · 05/08/2021 13:43

@73kittycat73 I have one ten year old who is normally into buckets and spades, but not this year! Normally can’t get her out of the sea either but not bothered for it this year. But we often holiday with her cousins and we’ve not this year, and we usually do west coast where the sea’s warmer. We are definitely coming back here again at some point as it’s beautiful though! She has got to experience some watersports though, which she has loved!

Promised daughter a breakfast out this morning and I ate a toasted tea cake, which was lovely and fresh! But I did a mile and a half walk straight after to help keep blood sugars low.

73kittycat73 · 05/08/2021 19:33

I hear ya about the belly fat BorderlineHappy! I look like humpty Dumpty. Flat arse and skinny arms and legs and a fat tummy! I have lost a bit from my face though.
Hi PaperMonster. Smile Your holiday sounds lovely. Good going on all the walking. Star How's your arm today?

PaperMonster · 05/08/2021 20:08

@73kittycat73 thank you for asking. It’s not good, feels worse generally after the episode the other night. Sometimes I wear a light sling to support it, but then sometimes even that hurts. Just now the bone at the top of my shoulder is throbbing. Wish they’d hurry up and sort it out. X

73kittycat73 · 05/08/2021 21:03

Ouch. I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Sad It beggars belief that you can be left in so much pain. Are they at least prescribing you pain relief? I imagine it doesn't help that you can't see any proper help coming your way yet. I hope you manage to have a good night tonight. Flowers
I'm off to watch a Christmas film in a minute, one I recorded for Movies 24 Christmas in July. I have been buying advent calendar items yesterday. (We usually just get a chocolate one each but this year I wanted to push the boat out and get a fill your own one.) So far I've got Xmas themed hand wash, Xmas tea bags and Xmas themed oven glove set, all from Amazon, and some nail varnish from the Claires Accessories sale. When I get more money on Monday I plan on buying some more items, including Christmas socks. Oh yeah, and today I trialed my first ever proper chocolate hot chocolate, in preparation for chocolate bombs in/for the advent calendar. I've tried powdered drinking chocolate before but didn't like it, but have tried today a hot chocolate stirrer (Basically chocolate on a stick.) and it was OK. I'd eat another one. Grin

@PaperMonster that sounds horrible,I really feel for you.

PaperMonster · 05/08/2021 21:52

Thanks ladies. If you ever get an overwhelming smell of Tiger Balm, you’ll know I’m nearby!!! This has been going on since Feb when I first spoke to the GP about it. It’s ridiculous.

I love doing a fill your own Advent Calendar for my daughter! I usually start looking for items in September. She had a stationery one a few years ago and I kept the box and refill it. Can get a bit odd as the boxes are all different shapes! I’ve two presents over from last year, so two less to think about this year!!
