Should i buzz cut my hair?

I need some advice please. I'm a woman & I've been wanting to buzz cut my hair ever since lockdown started & I'm really tempted to do it.
I'm just worried I won't suit it & I'll look like a complete prat & my 2 year old won't recognise me. He's only ever seen me wirh should length hair.
Should I do it?

I wish, wish, wish I could do this. I saw a woman with a buzz cut just today and she looked amazing. I'd look like Phil Mitchell though. Sad

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 20:36

@JesusinTheCabbageVan that's what I'm worried about, I don't want it so short where I'm bold but a 12mil cut.

Do it!

You can avoid looking like Phil Mitchell by making sure your eyebrows are well shaped and defined.

I went from bra length hair to a pixie cut last year and my 1 & 2 year olds didn’t bat an eyelid.

I love it but I'd look awful.

IME you need to wear good make up after.

ThorFull · 14/06/2021 20:46

Maybe start off with an undercut? I’ve got long hair with a shorn nape and it’s a joy to always have a breezy neck. Lots of cool undercut ideas on Pinterest and Instagram.

StoodOnALine · 14/06/2021 20:47

I've done a whole tonne of stupid shit with my hair over the years, and y'know what, it's always grown out ;)

So even if it is a huge mistake, you're really only talking a few months till it's recovering Grin

I'm definitely in the "do it" camp. I've never done mine, but I'm tempted in this heat... I hate a sweaty hairline.

FindingMeno · 14/06/2021 20:49

I would definitely go with buzzing both sides first and see if you like it.

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 20:52

@MrsTerryPratchett that's what I'm worried about! It'll look awful 😩 @StoodOnALine & Thor Full I don't know if I have the guts! Xxxx

Doooooo it! I did it and loved it!

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 20:53

Just buzzed my 2 year olds hair too, I don't want to look like a complete idiot copying him!

I did it 2nd week of our lockdown was amazing! Don't care if it suited me or not! What I wanted to do! Alot of people were surprised. But 🤷‍♀️ My hair has grown back nicely.

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 20:59

Username is gone really? Eeeek super tempted now, I'll let you know if I go through with it, if I do, it'll be tonight 😊 😘 xxxxx

I've had a buzz cut before and I've never worn more than eyeliner
Paralithic · 14/06/2021 21:18

I’ve had a No 4 (13mm) all over before now - loved how easy it was to shower and go in the morning. Mascara is as much as I ever do with make up.

I’m growing it out now and my DCs aren’t keen, as they haven’t seen me with hair for donkeys years.

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 21:19

I don't know now, hubby told me I'll look like a dick 😑😕😳

StoodOnALine · 14/06/2021 21:28

If my husband said that to me, it definitely do it ;)

Presumably he cuts his hair how he wants, without consulting you?

Seriously, if it's a totally disaster, buy a lovely hat Wink

I'm eyeing my husband's buzzer now... he just taught me how to use it on my son...

uhtredsonofuhtred1 · 14/06/2021 21:34

I don't think I'd ever do it myself but when I see women with a buzz cut I think they look awesome! It often makes their faces look even more feminine like their bone structure is more defined.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 14/06/2021 21:39

Ooh can you share some pics of examples you like plus info on your natural hair texture, to get some ideas and advice on here?

Itsabingthing2 · 14/06/2021 21:40

I don't know 😒🙁

OP posts:

Confused by the numbers, like how long is a number 4 etc. Xxxx

It'd be good to get an idea in your head of whether you mean an actual buzz cut or more a short pixie... are any of these anything like what you have in mind?
