What would you do with this space in your home? (With pic)

I’ve moved home recently and have this space in one of the living/ sitting rooms. It’s too big to be alcove and be shelved. If you put a couch or chair in it it would be too out of the way of the rest of the room. A snug? No need for a desk or home office. Any ideas what function I can give it? It’s currently the storer of the unpacked boxes which isn’t ideal!Inspire me please?

A bar.

I'd use it as a sewing area! Do you have a hobby you'd like some space for?

I'd turn it into a beautiful crafting space.

And it would be mine, all mine!!

Huge dcat tree and 2 dkittens to play on it of course!!

Bookcase?

I would make it in to a storage cupboard. Add some shelves to keep puzzles, board games. Keep the hoover and ironing board in.

Reading nook! Comfy chair, pouffe for feet, lamp, sorted!

Get an old dresser to stand at the back (upcycled it), add a bit of mood lighting, stock the dresser with sprits/glassware etc.

You might not need a desk or home office, but have you thought that it might be nice to have? (keep all your paperwork together, pens always handy ...) After all, most people don't 'need' a hot tub but they are still popular

Put in a window seat (without the window grin). A very nice sconce, a little table to the side, and you have yourself an inviting reading nook.

Reading nook? A really cosy seating area with a good lamp, surrounded by bookshelves reaching to the ceiling

Bookcase and chair and a door so you can hide. Lock on the inside, high up.

If you’ve got/ planning small kids it’d be great place to put a child gate across to keep a baby safe/ occupied… nice size for a toddler play area. If not I like the idea of a hobby space/ reading nook.

Hard to say without seeing the whole room. I’d probably go with large mirror and console table that could double as a desk

We made chunky wooden shelves in our space that size for books and art

I’d turn it into a chokey for the children .

Ooh that would be my papercutting corner! Storage on the wall for paper and blades, tilting work table... perfect

Echoing others, I’d have a floor to ceiling bookshelf and a cuddle chair. I’m actually quite jealous!

In our house it would probably become Musicians' Corner - aka a pile of bags full of leads, several amps, some mike stands at crazy angles and about 9 guitars.

How has that space come to exist? Has somebody bricked up a doorway? Where is it in relation to the window? Diagram needed!
