What would you do with this space in your home? (With pic)

I’ve moved home recently and have this space in one of the living/ sitting rooms. It’s too big to be alcove and be shelved. If you put a couch or chair in it it would be too out of the way of the rest of the room. A snug? No need for a desk or home office. Any ideas what function I can give it? It’s currently the storer of the unpacked boxes which isn’t ideal!Inspire me please?

I would build a cupboard with shelves for boardgames/paperwork. Or possibly create desk area with shelving & storage above. With so many people wfh and kids needing a place to do homework etc. it would be a good place for small desk with a laptop.

Go on Pinterest there will be loads of ideas.

Reading/hiding nook!

A reading nook with a lovely plush comfy armchair and footstool, beautiful lamp and lots of books.

Bookcases on the three wall sides

We can never find enough wall space for book cases.

I'd put a door/doors on it and shelves all the way round up the ceiling. Fantastic storage space.

What's on the other side of the walls? Can you block it off from this side and make it into a loo or cupboard from a new entrance?

I think I'd use it as something for my hobbies or like the nice little reading nook people have suggested!

Would be a great space to store things for kids if you have any

I'd also say a reading area - put shelves along the papered wall and then have a comfortable chair, small table and a lamp.

Following as I have similar in my new house (not completed yet) although my room is much smaller!

Please, please do this.

I would use it for A piano, if it’s big enough and isn’t a party wall, or bookcases and a reading nook, as others have suggested.

Guinea pig accommodation

I'd put doors on it and make it I to storage, it's a great space and a way to keep really tidy.

I would have it built in as a walk in cupboard.

My first thought was a reading area.
