F.R.I.E.N.D.S - Secondary Characters

Inspired by another thread, I'll go first.

Like:
David the science guy, so funny
Richard, a real man
Rachel's dad, mean but enigmatic
Pete, the ultimate fighting champion
Frank Jr, dippy but hilarious

Dislike:
Susan, nasty fucking bitch!!!
Emily, whiny and needy
Charlie, stuck up and boring
Judy Geller, horrible to Monica
Ursula, obviously

Oh and Alice aka Mrs Knight, Frank Jr's wife (but mostly because I love That 70s Show) and Phoebe's mum ( Terri Garr) and her 'ero-ttory' pottery.

Like:

Richard - my love for TS known no bounds, still think him & Monica should’ve ended up together.
Gunther - so funny with him, Ross & Rachel.
Amy & Jill (Rachel’s sisters), absolutely hilarious and wish we’d seen more of them.
Gavin - interesting and would have liked it if they’d taken the story with Rachel somewhere.
Emily’s parents - I kind of wish she & Ross had stayed together so we could have had more. “I could kill you with my thumb!”

Dislike:

Janine - Elle McPherson was SO wooden and the whole thing was unbelievable. The scene where she tidied the apartment was funny though.
Susan - bloody awful how she was to Ross. No redeeming features at all.

I liked the woman who had stolen Monica's identity!

I'm currently rewatching since the reunion was on and I have to say I love Jack Geller, he's like an older Joey constantly putting his foot in it. Not a fan of Richard telling Monica he'd changed his mind and wanted to have kids with her in the proposal ep with Chandler! Hate Emily because she reminds me of too many people that I know (but luckily don't have to interact with regularly). I like Susan's sense of humour but agree it's not fair for her to expect Ross to take on everything in one go.

I loved Parker, Alec Baldwin played him brilliantly.

I think some people here are getting Carol and Susan muddled - Carol was married to Ross, Susan is the women she marries, how is she horrible?

Because Carol is with Susan for 5 minutes before they're at the scan telling Ross that they've decided Ben's surname will be 'Willick-Bunch' and are essentially cutting Ross out. Susan then gets offended when Ross suggests Geller should be one of the first two names when he is the father and she is the OW.

I loved Reese Witherspoon's Jill (one of Rachel's sisters). She wasn't in many episodes but she was very funny!

Also love Jack Geller. Such a softie!

Really disliked Emily and Julie.

Love the Eddie episodes
Rachel's parents are hilariously awful - the two parties episode is probably my favourite of all time
My husbands favourite is the bum slapping boss of Chandler

I love Janice, David (who Phoebe should have married) and Parker (wish he'd been in more episodes)
Mike was a complete bore, and Paul Rudd was wasted in the role.

@DaisyDreaming - Oh My God... she was so clingy & whiny. And she seemed to turn up in Chandler's life so often, at the most inconvenient moments.

I don't think it's a case of hating women more than men? There were just a lot more secondary characters that were women in comparison to men I guess.

I thought Emily had a good point and was totally reasonable in not wanting her husband, who took his Ex girlfriend on honeymoon, to have contact with Rachel. If Emily came on MN she'd be told to cut Rachel out.

I liked Charlie - she was smart, but because she wasn't a dizzy man obsessed flake she's seen as grumpy. Heaven forbid a woman have high standards and want to date a smart man.

How can anyone like Richard?! Imagine your DH's best friend dating your child who he's known since she was a baby!

I liked Mike. Nice guy, funny and sweet and didn't care what his snooty parents thought.

Rachel's dad was awful, mean and nasty and cheap.

I liked Janice, she was fun, but I really do like extroverted people.

Janine was SO dull and mean about Monica.

Remember Chandler's bum slapping boss? He's a great actor (he's in Drop Dead Gorgeous!)?but he gives me the creeps.

Loved Eddie the dehydrating maniac

I loved Alex Baldwin too he was so good!

@BusySittingDown The stoned guy and Rachel's blind date, played by Jon Lotvitz (I'm not sure if he was supposed to be the same character but he was funny.

Yy! “Tartlets!….Tartlets!” And “I have such fat hands!” crack me up every time.

Janice is definitely my favourite secondary character, also love Mike, David, Gunther, and Jack & Judy Geller. Not keen on Elizabeth, Janine or Chloe (the girl from the copy place).

Oh yes, Jack Gellar too.

I loved Brad Pitt's character, Will.

I didn't like Mike, at all! I found him stuck-up and I thought David suited Phoebe better.

I didn't like Emily, Janine or Charlie.

But Janice, Gunther and the Gellers cracked me up!
