Mine is 49. Am I dead?

Can you tell that I've got a jazzy new watch which measures all the things?

Mid 80s. Always has been.

OrchidLass · 08/06/2021 22:44

56 at the moment. I'm 54 and moderately fit.

WeeM · 08/06/2021 22:46

70 at the moment and I’d say I’m fairy fit. Peaks at about 185 during a high impact cardio.

Beardie03 · 08/06/2021 22:46

68 age 39

Permanentlytiredout · 08/06/2021 22:49

It used to be around 65 but it’s been around 100 for weeks now since a bad long covid flare up. GP doesn’t want to know. It scares me.

QioiioiioQ · 08/06/2021 22:55

if I do a lot of running mine goes down to 42ish bpm
I'm very average as a runner but my BP and HR have always been low

are you sure the HR monitor is accurate? The ability of the heart to beat fast declines with age, at 70 (irrespective of how fit you are) your heart is unlikely to be able to go much faster than 150bpm
LongIslandIcedT · 08/06/2021 23:00
  1. I'm very unfit and overweight.
TellingBone · 08/06/2021 23:05

This is very prescient and reassuring.

Bought a blood pressure monitor a few weeks ago - I'm in my sixties and there's family history of heart problems. I was quite worried that my heart rate has been coming up between 58 and 62. Dr Google seems to think it's very low.

I believe I'm quite unfit due to lockdown and generally being a lazy arse but I resumed gym a few weeks ago when it reopened. I'm hoping that this low heart rate is due to me being super-fit. Grin

MissCruellaDeVil · 08/06/2021 23:06

Mine is low 40s, it's so low that it sets off the hospital machines if I am connected. I'm not particularly fit. It's hereditary as my mums is also super low!

ilovepixie · 08/06/2021 23:08

Mine is about 55. I'm 52 very fat and very unfit!

Varies from 48-60 depending on my alcohol consumption!! As low as 42 if I'm abstaining and sleeping well and doing loads of exercise. I'm 38

kissmelittleass · 08/06/2021 23:17

Currently it's 67bpm sat in bed but a recent holten monitor puts my resting heart rate in the eighties I get ectoptics my doctor said but she wasn't bothered by it at all so presuming it'll fine

NCtitleofyoursextape · 08/06/2021 23:19

Mine is 45, I’m early 40s, exercise a bit but not loads. It has gone down as low as 35 when I’ve been asleep!

MountainDweller · 08/06/2021 23:22

Mine is late 50s/early 60s, but I'm on beta blockers so I guess they're doing their job! I like my watch telling me I'm not dead. Although I got my most ever exercise minutes when I went to the dentist (I'm terrified of them so my heart was racing) so sometimes they should be taken with a pinch of salt...

inigomontoyahwillcox · 08/06/2021 23:24

Between 45 and 55 - but I am on beta blockers (for migraines)

123feraverto · 08/06/2021 23:25

75-80 currently 40+ weeks pregnant though

Outside of pregnancy 65-70

Dwrcegin · 08/06/2021 23:27

60 says my fitbit, walk 4.5 hrs a day in work and 3 hours on the weekend. Currently the most unfit I have been in many years.

Fascinated by the 40's resting heart rates, you lot must be super fit.

YewandOak · 08/06/2021 23:27

53 according to my Garmin. I'm 56.

Jennyfromtheculdesac · 08/06/2021 23:37

What I would conclude from this is either smart watches are hugely inaccurate or MN is full of fibbers. Or combination of the two!

WeeM · 08/06/2021 23:47

@QioiioiioQ my resting heart rate is 70, not my age. I’m just going by what my Fitbit tells me, no idea how accurate it actually is-But when I’m at the peak of a high impact cardio it sure feels fast lol

47 when asleep
Low 50s when awake
Age 40. Exercise regularly.

I've told DH that if I ended up in hospital.and they're woried, tell them I'm a distance runner.

I imagine lots of smart watches are crap yes and unreliable if you don't wear them 24/7. Every single day. Mine hasn't left my wrist for more than an hour in six months and it's pretty good.
