I hate queuing for a wee at outdoor events so was chuffed tc see this innovation. I'm intrigued as to how one actually uses it but on the face of it this looks like a good idea.

What do we think?

Are you the inventor?

StarlightLady · 05/06/2021 04:59

How/where do you wipe?

lightlypoached · 05/06/2021 05:07

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat no I'm not the inventor. I saw the story on BBC website and was intrigued.

I've always been peed off that men can dash in and out to pee whilst we stand in a queue for ever.

@StarlightLady I don't know how it works, maybe you just squat over it? They need an illustration on the website to show us how to use it Grin

Sorry about the huge size of that link ( above). That is a portable urinal which I've had for ages. It isn't a new thing - they've been around forever. They are sold in camping / hiking shops too.

starrynight21 · 05/06/2021 05:13

You just stand up and hold it in place , then wee like a man. You could probably write your name with a bit of practice.

Councilworker · 05/06/2021 05:24

I definitely need a diagram of how this works. The website doesn't have a mock up of it actually in use. It looks a bit like a bidet or something that you squat over. I just don't know how it works if you're wearing trousers. Where do my trousers go so I don't wee on them? And is there a handrail so I can get back up cos my knees are buggered

Sparklingbrook · 05/06/2021 05:25

I don't understand how you use it. Where's the loo roll? Where's the privacy?
And the name is awful.

starrynight21 · 05/06/2021 05:31

I give you.....the She Wee.

Damnloginpopup · 05/06/2021 05:37

Designed in Birmingham. By order of the Peeky Blinders perhaps?

LongPauseNoAnswer · 05/06/2021 05:38

I have a she wee for hiking and it’s brilliant.

That looks really exposed and unsafe but I’d have to see how it works first before judging

HoppingHamster · 05/06/2021 05:46

Isn’t this pretty much a pink version of what they have at every motorway service station in France!?

HoppingHamster · 05/06/2021 05:46

Except in France they still have doors on

Onemorewouldbelovely · 05/06/2021 05:51

It doesn't look usable at all.

MoreAloneTime · 05/06/2021 05:52

I can't see this catching on widely

Thisyearcandoone · 05/06/2021 05:53

Had to use something similar at the start of the London Marathon once. In a communal area. Not good! 🤣

Justa47 · 05/06/2021 05:56

@lightlypoached

I have a she wee in case at those events!

YoBeaches · 05/06/2021 06:03

They haven't catered for the fact that women have to get into some form of undress to wee/change tampons and sanitary wear. It puts you in a vulnerable position without privacy or locks.

Madcats · 05/06/2021 06:19

Oh this was on our local BBC TV News last night. They plan to trial it at a couple of local (to Bristol) festivals this summer.

The plan seemed to be that there would always be female "security" to explain how to use it.

It struck me that it needs some shelter/top as it is bound to rain and that too many young ladies are likely to have had too much cider to negotiate the stairs/aim correctly.

Worth a try alongside normal portaloos, though I am about to buy some shee wees to try this summer.

TableSetting · 05/06/2021 06:23

Looking at their FB page it seems to be just for weeing in. Is it simply to speed up queues with no doors to touch or lock? But where would you hang a handbag (or would you put it round your neck whilst you perch above?)
How would you know if a cubicle is currently in use? Maybe this is designed to be used just at festivals where queues are huge. One in and one out and I guess it does look better than an enclosed portaloo.

Reminds me of those nightmares you have were people can see you weeing! What's with the short walls?! shudders No thank you!

cherrytree63 · 05/06/2021 06:32

For those of you with sheewees, how do you use them when you're wearing trousers without needing to drop them down?
I have a weak bladder and I'm always needing to dash behind a bush when I'm out walking!

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/06/2021 06:38

You’d know if the cubicle was in use or not due to the wall height. You can see women over the top.

Sounds like a good idea. But could be open to abuse. Therefore only good if truly single sex. And agree with the statement regarding tampon changing etc.

Where are the sinks to wash your hands / moon cup etc?

bert3400 · 05/06/2021 06:38

I've used a She Wee in a "mixed" urinal before at a festival. Honestly it took about 15 minutes for me to over come the mental block ....would of been quicker to que for the normal loos Grin
