Dd and I are home alone this evening. What classic girly movie shall we watch 😁?

10 Things I Hate About You

Whatwouldscullydo · 02/06/2021 16:49

Not so much a girly film but I recommend the shallows. Less innuendo heavy than some of the 12 movies probably just got rhe 15 rating cos of the f word once at the end.

Or how about a bit of girl power with the classic 9 to 5 with dolly parton?

Gertie75 · 02/06/2021 16:53

Mamma Mia

AuntLucy · 02/06/2021 16:54

I was thinking maybe Pretty Woman but you don't think the prostitute storyline is a bit much for 12? Likewise Clueless has a lot of blowjob jokes (as I found to our mutual discomfort when I showed this one as a family movie last year 😄)

Pretty Woman is a 15 so it depends how much attention you pay to age ratings...

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/06/2021 17:08

I just went with great films for that age group, btw. DS (now 18) has seen Miss Congeniality, Legally Blonde, Clueless, Mamma Mia, 10 Things I Hate About You, Pretty Woman so we don't really identify films as for girls or boys!

Also, thank you for the thread title. Because after a long, hard slog with my 2 children recently, your thread title made me excited for the future and reminded me that the baby and toddler phase passes. Enjoy your movie. Get popcorn in!
