If you asked for a salary of £75k and you were told that it “won’t be exactly what was proposed but it wouldn’t be a million miles away”, how much would you expect to be offered?

Bit different, but I asked for 27k and was told the same. I got 25k

£70k with the opportunity to earn more based on meeting objectives over a set period of time.

If it didn’t start with a 7 I’d be pretty miffed in this situation.

Between £60k and £70k though they may be including the whole package of benefits as a value. It depends also what you are on now. Like if you are on £50k asking for £75k or on £65k asking for £75k, would expect it to be at least 10% higher than what on now unless you were made redundant.

£65-£70 maybe with a target to hit £75 if some targets are met over a few months

I'd hope for it to be within 5%, but would be braced for it to be within 10%. I'd be disappointed if it was 10% out. 5% out I'd be totally ok with.

I’d want 70+ but expect an offer around 69.

I would expect it to be £70+ but like another poster I would push for £75
