By My Diabolical Power - all threads I post on or create are DEAD! If there is a a long-winded thread - we will kill it dead!

A boy-free weekend and what do I find myself doing....tidying the house in spasmodic phases.....Still ~3 more hours before I can showed and change my dressings.

I've got a rare DC free weekend and what am I doing? Running myself ragged preparing for my DDs birthday party tomorrow. It's all down to the last minute because that pesky migraine stopped me in my tracks this week.

I shall reward myself tonight with a takeaway, a glass of wine, and a long bath.

@FuzzyPuffling

I see you "Twistered*. Keep breathing!
Thank you Fuzzy ...that was a close one!

Sunny day. Might go surfing.

SamusIsAGirl · 30/05/2021 07:43

Grrrrr. Jealous about the surfing - live in the West Midlands. But might book open water swimming for midweek - hooray for Dermalize since I can cover my tattoo and it's waterproof.

Did get a bit 'refreshed' with a friend of mine - first pub visit with friends in 16 months!

I used to live in the West Midlands. Our nearest beach was about 2.5 hours away!
FuzzyPuffling · 30/05/2021 17:53

I used to live in the West Midlands too.
But I don't now.

I didn't like my part of the Midlands, but some bits are lovely!

I had to move for work (redundancy) so went to the SE where the jobs were, then got made redundant again (twice)? so gave up and moved near the sea!

Yes, I'm by the sea now too! I've just got back from the beach! A lot of sand ends up in my house and car...
FuzzyPuffling · 30/05/2021 19:23

We avoided the sea today. Rather glad we did as our local FB page is full of "huge queues and no parking spaces and it;s crazy out there" messages. I shall sit tight and look at it from a distance until half term is over. Or it rains.

SamusIsAGirl · 30/05/2021 20:13

My arm's looking gnarly - Will need the dressing on until Wednesday and the bruising is REALLY coming up. Tattoo is fine, no excessive pain, throbbing, redness etc but the bruising is gross along with the draining - I would chose my tricep and armpit mind!

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 30/05/2021 21:38

I am glad I have no tattoos after that Samus. Hope it all settles down soon.

SamusIsAGirl · 30/05/2021 21:47

It'll be fine. There is no extra pain or warning signs - it was the 5.5 hrs of tattooing on soft skin (tricep/armpit) that causes the swelling and pain. I have the full motion in my left had since the swelling has gone down.
You don't go for instant gratification if you have tattoos - they take about 6 months to fully heal but it'll be fine by midweek and I can go long (> 15K) running again.

KurtWilde · 31/05/2021 10:30

Samus can't wait to see a pic when it's a bit less gooey. The dermalise is great but the one I got on my calf last year looked like a giant person soup bubble. The finished result though is awesome. I've got another booked for august.

I'm jealous of anyone who lives within spitting distance of the coast. I'm in West Yorkshire so the nearest sea is around 90 mins/an hour away. Boo. Hiss.

SamusIsAGirl · 31/05/2021 12:07

It still needs some finesse - planning that for October - usually avoid late spring/summer for tattoos since the healing limits what you can do.

Are you in Liverpool, @livpool?
Livpool · 02/06/2021 08:13

@StoneColdBitch I am indeed 😀

SamusIsAGirl · 02/06/2021 08:20

I'm not counting the thread I was on that got deleted - it was one about vaccines...

OP posts:
SamusIsAGirl · 02/06/2021 08:22

Kurt If you have a tattoo on a juicier body part (like legs for instance) and there are lymph pools in the dermalize, you can make an incision in the dressing, drain it and put a strip of fresh dermalize over the top. Just saying in future.

@Tambora

I have started a thread and killed it in one fell swoop.

Sad

Me too! Not one reply! Not even when I post a second time. 😩
