How long do you wear your clothes before washing them?
I'll go first:

Tops - after each use
Jeans - 3-4 days
PJ's - 2-3 days
Bra - god knows 😂

I wash bras after one use too. They are right next to your body 😳

Probably why I spend a fortune on bras

Moonshine11 · 18/05/2021 13:37

Tops/dresses after one wear
Jeans after two wears
Any other bottoms (joggers, gym) one wear
Jamas two wears
Underwear one wear

I always mean to do it more but it's just so much faffing 😂🙈 knickers are changed after each use so I'm not that bad 😂

Gym gear, knickers and socks - every day
Bras - not every day, I wear them in rotation depending on what I'm wearing, maybe every couple of wears
Other stuff - when it's dirty!

IhaveMyMoments · 18/05/2021 14:14

Everything after 1 wear. Bra, pants, socks, leggings, jeans, tops, jumpers, hoodies, pj's
For the whole house.

rbe78 · 18/05/2021 14:16

Bras and knickers after every wear (because my Mum annoyingly got me into the habit of wearing matching undies - this means I own a RIDICULOUS number of bras, as I am also very tardy at doing laundry)

Tops and dresses should be after every wear, but I have to admit to being lazy on occassion and stretching to a couple of wears sometimes, espeically in these WfH days.

Skirts and trousers as and when.

rbe78 · 18/05/2021 14:17

Jumpers like hoodies (that go over other tops) when they smell or are dirty.

PinkPurpleParade · 18/05/2021 14:17

Tops - every day
Leggings, tights, underwear, socks - every day
Pyjamas - 2/3 days
Dresses - 2 wears
Jumpers - 3 wears
Bras - every 4/5 days at the moment as WFH and barely move! In normal times, every 2 days.
Jeans, skirts - probably every 5 wears unless they look dirty

I do about 6 washes a week for the 3 of us in total.

@IhaveMyMoments you wash all that every day?! You must be washing constantly! Hoodies jeans and PJs every day is a lot!

Checkingout811 · 18/05/2021 14:20

Everything except jeans, jacket & coats after 1 wear

MightNeedABiggerGlass · 18/05/2021 14:22

Underwear - one wear
School uniform - shirts & PE kit one wear, trousers depends how dirty never less than weekly and blazers weekly
Office working - one wear
Home working - whenever it crawls into the basket Wink

Houseofvelour · 18/05/2021 14:28

I always wash my 2 dds clothes after every use whether or not it's still clean looking. Don't know why I don't for myself 😂

stressbandit · 18/05/2021 14:33

Everything gets worn once and washed the next day except jackets curtains and bedding. Towels get used once and sponges and go in the machine and bedding is done weekly.

cheezy · 18/05/2021 14:42

Wow I’m amazed at those of you who wash everything after 1 wear Shock
You must be constantly doing laundry!
I wash underwear, socks and vests after 1 wear, everything else as and when needed. Maybe I am a slattern.

Xiaoxiong · 18/05/2021 14:43

Tops, bras, pants, socks, gym kit, school uniform - 1 wear
Jeans, trousers, skirts, or anything that gets layered over something else like a cardi or hoody etc - when they are stained, badly creased or smell
Bedding & towels - weekly, or sooner if needed
Teatowels - daily when used, but sometimes we can go a few days without cooking anything, everything just goes straight in and out of the dishwasher when dry, and the teatowels are untouched

Xiaoxiong · 18/05/2021 14:48

cheezy I have the same rule in theory, but in practice I can't seem to get more than one wear out of tops, gym kit, or school uniform as they get covered with mud, paint, food, or just smell not bad, but just of clean skin...not gross but just not fresh. The kids always seem to get messy and I'm a terror for dripping stuff down my front as well especially when cooking and I haven't bothered with an apron, I also seem incapable of doing any housework without getting bleach on my jeans or whatever.

What I really need is a tabard, one for each family member...kids in boiler suits should sort the problem out...

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/05/2021 14:56

I sweat more than the average person so anything that touches my armpits gets washed after one wear. Trousers, skirts and jeans every 3 or 4 wears. Pants, socks and tights after one wear.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 18/05/2021 15:21

Knickers and socks 1 wear
Jeans 2/3 wears
Pyjamas Don't wear any!
Hoodie type things.. when they smell or are stained
Bras Twice weekly
Tops/T shirts 2 wears( I don't sweat nowadays)

AlwaysLatte · 18/05/2021 15:24

Everything every day. I used to wear jeans more than once but I'm always doing things like gardening, picking up chickens and dog every day etc etc that they're never totally clean by the end of the day!

bellropes · 18/05/2021 15:28

Everything, every time it's been worn. Except cardigans, they can go about a week or two depending on how much I've worn them.

Blossomtoes · 18/05/2021 15:29

Socks and knickers once
Everything else when it needs it.

No wonder the planet’s fucked with people washing clean stuff just because they can.

TurdCrapley · 18/05/2021 15:35

Knickers, pjs, socks, tops, leggings - 1 day
Bras - 2 days
Jeans, jumpers - 2/3 days
Dresses, skirts, shorts would be 1 day too

TheChosenTwo · 18/05/2021 16:04

Every day for all clothes except things like jackets/coats and my bras, I tend to wear 3 in rotation throughout the week and they are all washed on a Sunday. So bras get worn twice before washing.
All of us do the same. I do wash a lot!

Indoctro · 18/05/2021 16:11

Those washing after every wear, you know that's extremely bad for the environment

Come on people takes some responsibility for this planet , we are on a very slipper slop to a dark place if we don't all wise up.

Clothes should be washed when they smell
Or are dirty.

Indoctro · 18/05/2021 16:11

@Blossomtoes

Socks and knickers once Everything else when it needs it.

No wonder the planet’s fucked with people washing clean stuff just because they can.

It's just selfishness.
Blossomtoes · 18/05/2021 16:17

It's just selfishness

Stupidity more like.
