Tomorrow I will be submitting my masters thesis. 6 years as a single mother of 3, eldest DS has asd, hearing and visual impairment. I have done a foundation degree, started my BA and was asked to transfer to an integrated masters, asked I tells you. And tomorrow, after a year of pandemic, MH struggles and homeschooling I get to submit my masters thesis Grin

I’m desperate to know who won the niche discussion Smile (I have nothing to brag about but loving this thread).[/quote]

I'd say alfafabean's was more 😮, and mine was more 🥂.

Well done OP, that's fantastic!

From being told by my form tutor and maths teacher that I would amount to nothing, I was recently promoted to manager in a job which I love.

I was bullied at school and nobody seemed to connect my truancy with this. Apparently I was just bad.

Wish I could go back and tell my child self that I was worth so much more than they saw in me.

I was newly single and mum to three small boys. I went back into education and gained four GCSEs all As, then did two A levels in a year, both grade A. Then I did my nurse training, followed by a degree, followed by a post-grad in education. My three sons all went to uni and now all have Masters.

My ex told me he had the brains but I had common sense. It turns out I had both. For years I believed I wasn’t very bright. I went to a shit school and I had parents who didn’t believe girls needed educating.
