Tomorrow I will be submitting my masters thesis. 6 years as a single mother of 3, eldest DS has asd, hearing and visual impairment. I have done a foundation degree, started my BA and was asked to transfer to an integrated masters, asked I tells you. And tomorrow, after a year of pandemic, MH struggles and homeschooling I get to submit my masters thesis Grin

What is your big brag?

I have a small but satisfying brag. I'm having ongoing problems with a team member who accused me of bullying her and even though the formal investigation found I had no case to answer she is still making my life difficult on a daily basis. Anyway, we have a fortnightly all staff webinar and on the last one a senior manager named me in a shout out as someone who is always knowledgeable, helpful and approachable! I know the thing with my colleague is all about her but it gave me a little glow Smile

What a brilliant thread, thank you so much OP, you’ve made my day.

MinnieAnonyMouse · 14/05/2021 09:45

Despite not losing this week, I am 5 and a half stone lighter than I was this time last year. Still got a long way to go to being a properly healthy weight but have stopped being terrified that people were staring at my hugeness in the street.

To put it into perspective, that's the equivalent of losing 100 cans of beer in weight or an 11 year old boy.

6 stone, I'm coming for you.

Congratulations Biblio! What a fantastic achievement Smile

I'm proud of myself for just persisting across 6 really difficult years. I haven't given up though I've wanted to many times.

BigGreen · 14/05/2021 09:51

Congrats to everyone else too, these are all phenomenal achievements - and we don't celebrate ourselves or each other enough!

MrsL2016 · 14/05/2021 10:21

This thread is wonderful. I am in the middle of my masters and still have a way to go but really proud of myself for juggling education, work and my family. It's not always easy but it will be worth it.

peachgreen · 14/05/2021 10:25

These achievements are all amazing. Well done all!

Mine is that my wonderful soulmate DH died suddenly 7 months ago and I am still standing. I'm back at work and coping, I'm staying mostly positive, and my beautiful 3 year old DD is thriving. He would be so bloody proud of me.

kateclarke · 14/05/2021 10:33

My brag is that I have just submitted my dissertation, while being a single mum and working in icu as a nurse all through covid.

ChameleonCircuit · 14/05/2021 13:27

Mine’s not academic, but I have a 12 year old with type 1 diabetes, and we’re getting more confident with tweaking his insulin, so we’ve had a few 100% in range days. Yay us!

I bow to you lot with masters degrees and tidy houses though 😆

Well bloody done @peachgreen that's absolutely incredible and I'm so bloody glad to read that, made my heart swell. I'm just a lurker from your threads but this makes me so bloody happy to read. I know how immensely hard and exhausting it is picking up the pieces of a shattered life so well fucking done you Thanks
peaceanddove · 14/05/2021 13:44

I have just completed Couch25K!!! Started doing it with DD back in February and now I can run 5K in 30 minutes without stopping! I am so shocked I've managed it because I hate any form of exercise, usually 😀

LongPauseNoAnswer · 14/05/2021 13:47

These are amazing, you are all amazing women!! I love how much achievement there is and how proud everyone is Smile

Mine is that my business has just surpassed 7 figures in revenue. Something that took the entire year last year!! I’m on track for double my income for last year Smile

peachgreen · 14/05/2021 14:04

@Impatientwino thank you so much, you are so lovely. It is still incredibly hard and I miss him so, so much, but there is joy to be found in my gorgeous wee girl.

NameChangeforMoneyThings · 15/05/2021 17:08

Just caught up on the rest of this thread and it has made me so happy to read all these amazing acheivements.

@LongPauseNoAnswer - 😲 a 7 figure turnover business is extraordinary! You must be so proud!

LongPauseNoAnswer · 15/05/2021 17:53

@NameChangeforMoneyThings I am incredibly proud, thank you. I have built something that will take care of me and DH but will build generational wealth also.

zippyswife · 15/05/2021 17:59

OP you are inspirational. That was just what I needed to read right now. You deserve the brag 🙌🏻🙌🏻

zippyswife · 15/05/2021 18:19

Wow. All of you.

I'm looking into a career change, I'm lacking confidence and direction and reading this from all of you that have achieved so much has really sparked fire in my belly.

Biblionerd · 15/05/2021 21:28

I am so glad I started this thread, I have lived reading so many amazing achievements that deserve shouting about Grin I submitted my thesis last night, so onward I go, and it seems I am in spectacular, strong and fabulous company!

carlywurly · 15/05/2021 22:21

I found my 2014 payslip today from the job I went into with no confidence, an ongoing divorce and 2 small dcs.

I realised my 2021 payslip is for more than 3 times that amount. Same company, I've worked my way to that and picked up some professional qualifications on the way.

This is a lovely thread.

How2Help · 15/05/2021 22:57

@alfafabean and @MayIDestroyYou

I’m desperate to know who won the niche discussion Smile (I have nothing to brag about but loving this thread).

ladypete · 16/05/2021 02:07

I just booked a Netflix Series!

user1471434597 · 16/05/2021 09:16

After being made redundant 17 months ago, and zillions of applications/rejections, I have found a full time NHS job at 62!!! Proof that age is just a number.

CandyLeBonBon · 16/05/2021 11:47

@ladypete
