Looking for a movie that would entertain fussy teens, 9yo and myself.

Non cartoon as it’s quite nice we can watch actual films now and we have done Disney and Pixar to death.

Previous films that have been enjoyed.

The Help
Interstella
Miss Potter
Pursuit of Happiness
Goodnight Mr Tom
Lion

I’ve looked at Bohemian Rhapsody twice but feel might be a bit much for youngest however would love to find something with a music theme as all 3 girls musical.

Stardust could also be good

NoSquirrels · 08/05/2021 17:04

We Bought a Zoo
Mamma Mia
Pitch Perfect (but check you’re happy for 9 yr old)

Do you mean The Martian?
CloverHilla · 08/05/2021 17:07

Something 80s like Ferris Buellers Day Off? The Goonies? The Lost Boys?

SavingsQuestions · 08/05/2021 17:07

Mitchell and the machines was good. Posting in case people have thought of anything we havent!

Saving mr banks was good. Wonderpalk and We can be heroes were good too.

Instant family was really good and covered adoption really well.

My 9 yr old is eagerly awaiting Peter Rabbit 2.

I dont think Bohemian Rhapsidyis at all suitable for a 9 year old (it is very good though!.)

NoSquirrels · 08/05/2021 17:08

Continuing the space theme, Apollo 13.

Mine really like The day after tomorrow. I've also just watched The Hobbit with my 10 year old.
They all seem to love the Nativity films and Star Wars.

Thoughtsfortheday · 08/05/2021 17:50

Thanks for the suggestions, we’ve done lots of these and really trying to move away from children’s films. 😊

Eldest really into the space themed movies, 9 year old not so much!!

We just watched a new remake of Annie, maybe a bit young for teens but I and my 8 year old really enjoyed it.....
