My child has such big feet!! Anyone else?

Before anyone jumps down my throat for giving her body image issues, this is light hearted and I never say anything to her! But, I have an 8.5 year old DD and she has officially reached an adult size 4 in shoes - she is quite tall (91st centile - currently about 137/138cm tall) but even so these are big feet aren't they ? I'm a foot taller than her and only a size 5!
She's relatively likely to be an earlyish developer but hasn't yet had a giant growth spurt. So, can feet have a growth spurt before the rest of the child? Is she going to end up with gigantic feet? None of it matters of course, other than the endless cost of her growing out of shoes, but I'm interested to know if anyone else's kid has such big feet at such a tender age (on the plus size she's an outstanding swimmer - perhaps it's because she has natural flippers ;-) )

Mine too. Size 4.5 at 9 years old. It's a shame because there is absolutely no choice in shoes other than black school shoes or trainers. She wants to wear brightly coloured smarter shoes but can't find them anywhere!

My son is 9 years old and wears an adult size 9. Same size as his dad. I thought this was normal. Reading this post, maybe not!

I'm 5'3 and size 3.

My daughter is 15, 5' and size 1.

I hope her feet grow a little bit more.

Buying grown up size 1 shoes is going to be a nightmare!

DD is 12 5ft 7 and has size 7 feet

DD1 is 5ft and a size 5 (aged 13)
DD2 is 4ft 10 and a size 4 (aged 10)

DD3 is 3ft 10 and a size 9 (aged 5!) She is VERY tall but has dinky feet.

I’m 5ft 2 and a size 5-6 depending on style, brand etc

I should add, DD3 is a child’s 9, not an adults 9

Where are you from? Is she mixed nationality?

In my country most women tend to be a 5. It's rare to find bigger than that, unless is a super tall woman. In the UK and other countries I found it's different and a lot of women wear bigger sizes

7 year old son is in size 4. He's on the 98th centile. He's 3 cm taller than my 10 year old son who is in size 2 1/2 (took him a year to go up half a size).

I have size 9 feet (and a size 9.5 in gloves, so big hands, too).

Technically, going by the size of my feet and hands and the length of my femur, I should have been 6', but the rest of my body didn't get the memo and I finished off at 5'8" (but not until I was 17, which is extremely rare in women).

I'm quite disappointed, if I'm being honest. I would have liked to look at the top of other people's heads.

I do, however, do extremely well in sales in shoe shops.

DS1 is 9 size 4.5 feet, DS2 is 6 is size 1.5 totally normal I'd say! Expensive creatures aren't they!

I have a (just turned) 8 year old girl with size 6 feet...pain trying to find Velcro school shoes for a skinny giant foot since she can’t tie her laces yet!

DS13 is a size 11 in school shoes, but a 12 in Nike trainers (must be small sizing!) He's about 5ft10 already, taller than DH and I.

Dd14 is adult 6/7 depending on the shoe.
Ds 11 is adult 11! Both kids are around 5ft 4/5 at the moment, my son will be a giant by the time he finishes growing. He hasn't even hit puberty yet!!

I had the biggest feet in my class, boys or girls, when I was 7. Clearly they grew early then stopped as I’m now a size 4.

DS had huge feet when he was born.
It was a bit like seeing a puppy with big paws you know they are going to be a big dog.

He is 6ft5 with size 12 feet, his Fathers are size 13 and mine are a 4, they tease me.

My DD is nearly 9 years old and has size 5 shoes and trainers! She also was born with large feet and the midwife commented on the size of them! Also great swimmer. It’s reassuring for me to read there are similar girls with the same large feet! It’s just a shame I can’t buy such pretty sandals for her in the children’s ranges in shops. This years sandals were found in the adult section.

Hey, I noticed this was a few years ago and not sure if you are still here! My son is 9 (10 in September) and a UK size 9! What size are your son’s feet now? The cost is stupid now 😬 @EMCheema

@Ginqueen456 how did he get on? My son is 9 and wearing a UK size 9 now. He’s 5ft 1 so fairly tall too.

My boy is now 14, 6ft 2 and in size 14 feet and still growing!!

Updating to say DS is now 160cm tall at 12.5years old and has size 9 feet.

My just 7yo is a size 3.
12 yo is a ladies size 8

I'm only a 5.5 dh a 10. Which both average

My now adult DS was in size six adults by the end of primary.

He is now nearly six feet tall and 30 years old and is still a size six in a shoe!

Ds 10 just had size 5.5 footy boots delivered today....

my 7 yr old is a size 4 but very tall, so it makes sense
