What's your most upsetting tv death?

Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

A very old one.. Col. Henry Blake in MASH. Whole episode about him going home to his family... And then dies on the way home.

I think Oberon in game of thrones was the most visceral shock (and I knew it was coming!)

Oh good god, for me it's Robin in Robin of Sherwood circa 1985.

I was utterly in love with Michael Praed and they KILLED HIM OFF!! I was about 8 and completely distraught.

Then they brought Robin back in the form of Jason Connery and it just wasn't the same #stillnotoverit

Nothing beats Nigel in The Archers though, despite being on the radio.

Oh yes Henry being shot down was awful

Adam from spooks. In fact most of the spooks deaths, they had no qualms in killing off main characters suddenly so it always felt shocking. Also Emma in one day (again just sudden and shocking).

I also vote for cucumber, holy crap was that unexpected. It really haunted me for ages, I only watched it recently after being put off from the first episode a few times. The other bit that really made my stomach drop was when the main guys sister was explaining how his Internet meme videos were making it easier for boys to assault girls. It was such an "oh fuck" moment.

God I fucking love Russell T Davies.

Sarah Barnes in Hollyoaks. She died during a skydive in one of the special late night Hollyoaks episodes and although it wasn't particularly gory, it was harrowing to watch as she realised that her parachute wasn't going to open and she was going to fall to her death. Hearing her scream and then the sudden thump followed by silence affected me for months afterwards.

George Gently. He saw his beloved late wife after being shot by the man who shot her. I didn't see that coming!

Bodie in the wire. Many in game of thrones but I think Shireen baratheon disturbed me the most.

This is mine too - when she had her had shoved into boiling chip fat. I never watched another episode of Spooks after that.
