Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

@ilovepixie @@LunaNorth The Starmaker scene in Fame was heartbreaking, however Mr Crandall was just leaving the show because the actual actor had cancer.
Harry in Silent witness, how very dare they?
Jemma Doson electrocution in Byker Grove.
Gerry Roberts murdered by evil Lachlan in Emmerdale, he was such a lovable character.

Ben Wishaw's character Ben Lyon in 60s newsroom drama, The Hour - he's a journalist beaten to death in the back room of a Soho nightclub by the vice thugs he's investigating. Still haunts me.

cushioncovers · 24/04/2021 09:16

Also Shane from home and away who was married to Angel.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat

Also, Robert Romano in ER. Yes, he was unlikable, (or was he?), but seriously, after the arm thing did theyreallyhave to make him die like that?
So agreed. Ridiculous!!

Forgot to say Ginger in Black Beauty the film, when they cut to them all together again in the past

Liz and red in wentworth

Huggybear16 · 24/04/2021 09:22

Wilson in House.

We didn't actually see him die, but the scene where House gives Wilson his scan after his chemo is one of the most heartbreaking scenes I've ever watched. I cried a lot through that storyline.

scaryclare666 · 24/04/2021 09:29

Cordelia in angel, I broke my heart.

When Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones burned his own daughter at the stake. It was absolutely horrifying.

Elvis - Our Girl 😢

bendmeoverbackwards · 24/04/2021 09:45

Maneet in Line of Duty. There are a lot of deaths in LoD but she was different. Yes she made a mistake but she wasn’t bad as some of the others. And she had 2 small children Sad

MrsKellySeveride · 24/04/2021 09:51

Also, Adam in SEAL Team - Clay being frozen to the spot, repeating "Adam, Adam" and not being able to respond over the radio to tell Havoc what had happened.

Greatest acting by a long shot.

All of mine have already been said but definitely Vincent Nigel-Murray and Sweets. I cried buckets for both. Lexie in Greys and Hotch's wife in Criminal Minds. Harrowing scenes!Sad

Kiitos · 24/04/2021 10:21

The way Candy’s death in Pose was handled was so effective and I was in tears for almost the whole episode. It reminded me of Six Feet Under, how she appeared in flashbacks. The flashback where she was there on the bench with Lulu, and then suddenly she wasn’t there anymore.
A similar scene in Six Feet Under is the scene where there is some kind of celebration going on, and Nathaniel (who dies in the first episode) appears in the doorway, and nobody sees him and he just turns and walks away up the stairs. I could cry just thinking about it!

Wishimaywishimight · 24/04/2021 11:16

Kyle in Hollyoaks, found that extremely emotional.
