Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

OP posts:
MrsMaizel · 24/04/2021 00:33

Ruth in Spooks and also the whole cast of the last episode of Six Feet Under seeing how they eventually die - so so sad .

cass5 · 24/04/2021 00:33

@TatianaBis

The lawyer in Engrenages/Spiral
Was thinking of exactly this one - so nice to see someone sharing this
Dryadia · 24/04/2021 00:34

Buffy's mum.

However in our house the most upsetting fictional death has to be Aerith from Final Fantasy 7. The men in our house still aren't over it now. Wink

@SnottyLottie

Shireen in GOT.

When I realised it was happening and that Stannisbwasn’t going to change his mind and stop it, i went into the kitchen. But I could still hear her screaming. It was horrific 😫

Also Gloria, Colin and Ritchie in It’s A Sin. Colin because he was such a sweetie and went in such an awful way. Ritchie’s because I genuinely believed that Lydia would get to him before he passed on and the way his mum just came out that he had died and he was alone when it happened, I felt so angry and upset on Lydia’s behalf 😡

Agree about that scene, I actually gasped like I'd been punched in the chest. I don't think I have ever had that reaction to anything on screen. I sobbed for a very long time afterwards
Robin233 · 24/04/2021 00:39

Bruce Willis in the sixth sense.

@Pumpkyumpkyumpkin

Elise in The Tunnel. DH and I both sat stunned and in tears for a good while afterwards.
Oh my goodness yes, I know The Bridge was the original cooler Scandi one but i thought there was such a beautiful vulnerability to that character/actress and it was devestating how she died and so bravely
SonicStars · 24/04/2021 01:14

Another vote for Sonia from neighbours.

Her mannerisms meant that it was like watching my sister die on top of the sadness of the storyline.

Snorkelface · 24/04/2021 01:17

I'm only on Series 3 of Grey's - I'm regretting reading this thread now!

ilovepixie · 24/04/2021 01:21

@Hughbert

In Fame - someone died, Lori or Julie? And then they sing Starmaker and it is the SADDEST THING EVER. And Mr Shorofsky and Lydia and everyone is there and it is so bloody sad.
Oh yes! Gets me every time.
BlueDahlia69 · 24/04/2021 01:22

Pinkychilla · 24/04/2021 03:10

Tried to quote earlier but the spooks episode with the deep fat fryer was so disturbing! I didn't ever watch an episode again and thought about it for ages. Also Game of thrones the girl at the stake, baby and the dogs and Oliver from Corrie all too much for me and had to stop watching

LimpLettice · 24/04/2021 03:17

Also Buffy's mum. Or maybe 007/George In Grays Anatomy.

TheCrowening · 24/04/2021 04:14

@MrsSteveMcDonald

Can't remember his name, in either Casualty or Holby. Bloke in late teens/early 20s (I am terrible with ages) who was a trainee nurse I think. In a car accident and was trapped. Bled out when the metal that was trapping the passenger was removed
Came here to post this one. Ben. Still not over it, loved him!

Mark Greene also, that’s a given.

SallSall · 24/04/2021 04:29

hodor in game of thrones - I cried and cried
