Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

Christopher Ecclestone's character in Cracker. The series are available to watch on BritBox, but I can't face going through it again, with what happened to Jane Penhaligon as well. Though it's a brilliant series if anyone hasn't seen it.

Curlyshabtree · 23/04/2021 23:47

Pat in EastEnders

Also Gemma from byker grove!

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 23/04/2021 23:58

Lindsay Denton in LOD (hence the first part of the name). Let’s hope the second part of the name isn’t an premonition......

Hughbert · 23/04/2021 23:58

In Fame - someone died, Lori or Julie? And then they sing Starmaker and it is the SADDEST THING EVER. And Mr Shorofsky and Lydia and everyone is there and it is so bloody sad.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 24/04/2021 00:00

Also, Robert Romano in ER. Yes, he was unlikable, (or was he?), but seriously, after the arm thing did they really have to make him die like that?

Krook · 24/04/2021 00:01

Derek - the dog Sad

HelloDaisy · 24/04/2021 00:02

Barbara in Call the Midwife is the most recent one I found upsetting.

However I remember being traumatised when the baby was found dead in the cot in Trainspotting.

Scautish · 24/04/2021 00:05

@Frokkolini

Totally agree re Snoop on the Wire. She had done many evil things, and wasn’t a sympathetic character but her death scene was just so poignant and has stayed with me.

But also Omar, Wallace and D’angelo and frank Sobotka’s death was also shocking.

The Wire really was the best. Never surpassed.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 24/04/2021 00:08

Danny in Spooks really shocked me. But after that they killed off nearly every main character to the point where it was pointless becoming attached to any of them.

Daniel in Years and Years, that scene on the beach Sad

Criminal minds when Hotch's wife gets killed by the reaper. So sad when the whole team are listening to it and can't get there in time. I was so happy when Jack was still alive though.
Yes! I remember thinking afterwards what code words I could use with the kids to make them run and hide.

In Grey's remember the funny doctor who Bailey had to get up to operate but the lifts were down? And she tried to drag him and then tell him she couldn't save him? I. Was. Hysterical.
And Morse, but more because he reached out to that woman for help and she pushed him away and said 'drunk at this time? Disgusting' or something like that. Couldn't breathe I cried so hard!
Jack in Coronation street
And yes, as someone said above when Buffy said 'Mom? Momee?'
And Lexie
And there was a man trying to save his son by taking him for an operation to Mexico and they said he had to accept he wouldn't make it. So the dad sat on the hospital bed and told his child all about Mexico but without doctors and beds, with sand and sea and then his child died. Bawling here right nowBlushSad

Hank. So unexpected. Heartbreaking.

Does anyone remember neighbors when someone's car went in the river and he drowned? Maybe Dee was watching? Would have been early 90s.
