Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

@Tupperwarelid

Just also remembered Anne Boleyn in Wolf Hall. Obviously I knew she was going to die but the way her execution was filmed and acted was terrifying. It really upset me.
Oh yes... my heart was pounding, even though I knew how it would end.
Elemzee · 23/04/2021 20:08

As a teenager, I was so sad when Jen died in Dawson’s Creek.

Holly from Emmerdale, when she was found dead by her mum after a heroin overdose. I was only an occasional watcher but that episode was gripping. but I just remember feeling heartbroken when she was stroking her hair saying “my poor baby”. Played on my mind for ages.

BrutusMcDogface · 23/04/2021 20:08

Derek (Grey’s) here, too. The worst was when he was talking to himself in his head but couldn’t communicate Sad

A contender for most ridiculous is Kush in EastEnders this week. I mean, ffs.

Cassie, unforgotten
Mathew, Downton

fishonabicycle · 23/04/2021 20:10

The only one I can think of that made me have a tear was Cassie in Unforgotten.

Harryo · 23/04/2021 20:10

Oh and Nurse Laverne from Scrubs.

Bramblebutter · 23/04/2021 20:11

@rainbowcakes

Mike Delfino in Desperate Housewives 😭
That just made me angry. Why'd they do that to Susan and MJ, the show was ending, let them be happy!!
StrangeAddiction · 23/04/2021 20:11

Hodor - Game of Thrones
Glen and Abe - The walking Dead - brutal! Shock

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/04/2021 20:11

Greg Pratt (ER) dying after seemingly only being very minorly injured.

BooksMusicSnacks · 23/04/2021 20:11

Nate on Six Feet Under ... and then the whole end of the series. One of my favourites, ever.

Also all the ER and Greys deaths. Incredible Journey film as a child!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 23/04/2021 20:13

That little monkey in that thing I can't remember.
Actually it might have been a puppy.
No! I remember now I think it was a kitten.
Got trodden on - no that was the other thing. Tortoise? Rat?
Anyway whatever it was it was very sad.

FanPanCan · 23/04/2021 20:13

Morse
Joyce
Wilson

Hansper · 23/04/2021 20:13

Lillie in Married, Single, Other.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/04/2021 20:13

@StationView

CJ's bodyguard at the end of series 3 of The West Wing. Didn't see that coming at all.

And Mark Greene, obvs.

Oh yes, that was so surprising and sad and just perfectly acted.
ChimpyChops · 23/04/2021 20:14

Mark in ER.
Also, his dad's death story had a big impact on me as he was so much like my dad. I was in sixth form at the time and had recorded it, my best friend said he would come and watch it with me.

Madge, Neighbours.

Geoff, paramedic from Casualty. At his funeral when they played the radios saying 'stand down'.

I was only about 7 but I will always remember Daphne dying in Neighbours, I found it quite scary at the time how she said 'I love you Clarke before she died.

Alan being hit by a tram on Coronation Street, again I was only young but remember it.

Carouselfish · 23/04/2021 20:14

Oh yes, Bobby Simone!
The spear fighting hottie from Game of Thrones who had his eyes smushed.
Agree lots of teary moments in Derek.

The end of The Good Place where Chidi leaves.

PitchImperfect · 23/04/2021 20:14

Joyce from Buffy
Casey from Home & Away
Sonya from Neighbours
Leo from EastEnders

PivotPivotPivottt · 23/04/2021 20:16

Baby Katie in Hollyoaks Sad. Stephanie Davis' acting in these was outstanding.

Jessi1972 · 23/04/2021 20:16

@LovingBob I was going to add Mrs landingham from West Wing
The whole episode before makes you laugh and then you're left in shock!!
It's only watching the next episode that it really sinks in
Might re watch the whole box set again (possibly my 100th time!)

I also wanted to say The Champ starring Jon Voight (I know it's a film) but the little boy at the end leaves me a total wreck

Harryo · 23/04/2021 20:16

Blake's Seven The end of Blackadder Goes Forth
