Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

Tiffany getting run over in Eastenders. She was just getting her life together and they (the scriptwriters) killed her. I have refused to watch Eastenders ever since.

Dr Greene.
I was younger then. Nothing will ever have same impact.

Danaerys in game of thrones. I absolutely hated how rushed and terribly written those last episodes were. Utter disrespect by the producers to viewers. They wanted to go onto other things and ended up making a wonderful character into a villain and killed her off. Still fuming and won't watch anything else produced by those *srds.

evilharpy · 23/04/2021 19:59

Nick in Heartbreak High, around 1995, mainly because I was so in love with him.

Colin and Ritchie in It's A Sin but Colin was the worst. I'm not a cryer but I bawled my eyes out.

There’s a few but Poussey in OITNB is the one I still think about sometimes and it makes me sad

RoSEbuds6 · 23/04/2021 20:01

@Tupperwarelid

Just also remembered Anne Boleyn in Wolf Hall. Obviously I knew she was going to die but the way her execution was filmed and acted was terrifying. It really upset me.
Yes it was breathtakingly scary wasn't it. Extremely powerful.
Aprilsun · 23/04/2021 20:01

Another for Will in the good Wife. I was angry as well as sad.

Corey Monteith/Finn in Glee. So sad watching Rachel sing to make you feel my love. Must have been still difficult for the actress.

Belle in Home and away.

sussexman · 23/04/2021 20:01

Teri at the end of Season 1 of 24.
Alex in the Expanse.
Bill in Killing Eve.

It seems I don't like surprise deaths.

Hearnoevilspeaknoevil · 23/04/2021 20:01

Damon Grant in Brookside.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 23/04/2021 20:06

@LadyWhistledown omg yes!! The music!! The way it was filmed. Her face when she realised it was opening...urgh horrible.

Sun and Jin in Lost. Knowing they left behind a daughter and he never got to meet her!

MargaretHooper · 23/04/2021 20:06

Also - Stan Ogden in Coronation Street - Hilda with his specs, sob.

KillingMeDeftly · 23/04/2021 20:07

Ned Stark and the Red Weddinf etc were bad but for me, by far, the worse Game of Thrones death was when Shireen is sacrificed. The moment where her mother realises she actually did love her daughter is heartbreaking, as are the tears running down Stannis's face as he listens to Shireen screaming, knowing that he's betrayed her.

pointythings · 23/04/2021 20:07

Lots of the ones already mentioned, but the one that really got me recently was on Criminal Minds (am watching it with DD2) - the woman in the episode who was up for the death penalty, they proved she was innocent and she chose to die anyway because she had nothing left to live for. The episode is called Riding the Lightning.
