I want to get to Germany if possible

I’m in Germany! We’d love to welcome you. Right now Germany-UK is not considered a risk trip and I hope it stays like that.

I’ll be going to the UK, Spain and Italy this summer. 95% certain it’ll happen. Work travel in August planned for Austria, Switzerland and the UK, which I hope can happen and is not postponed again.

LieLikeALoungeroomLizard · 21/04/2021 22:39

Where abouts in Germany are you ? Last ime I looked into about a week or two ago, I thought us uk people couldn't come over

I want to go to Norway. But our priority is to visit dh’s family in France as he hasn’t seen them for a year. I’m hoping we can do both! But I’m not optimistic to be honest.

City in the north. The RKI website is updated every Friday and at least as of last week, the UK has been taken off the variant-risk area list, and is off the normal risk list too due to low incidence. Which means that currently only a negative test is required to entry the country. This is the same across all German states.

I’m not so sure about the EU/non-EU issue at the moment. We’re technically still in lockdown until the 9th of May (although most places are open), so it is possible they’ve extended the border closure to 3rd countries until that date too. Now the UK is obviously not part of the EU, there might be extra rules about that.

Ninjaplus1 · 21/04/2021 22:59

Just want to travel in the Uk this year, just want to see the sea.
Hopefully aboard again next year.

Wheesplat · 21/04/2021 23:00

I want to go to the Jurassic Coast. Dd wants to go to France as we’ve tried to go a few times and failed dismally. Probably end up going nowhere.

LieLikeALoungeroomLizard · 21/04/2021 23:05

Eileen, thanks you've given me a bit more hope now
I might think about coming over on the European rather than flying it's about twice the price though

We've postponed our trip until next year. Planning to stick to the UK this year, although will be watching how the situation develops from May onwards.

Hdiebfhs · 21/04/2021 23:28

We will be going to Scotland (hopefully) in September. Will book last minute because we are really flexible about where we stay.

LOVE Scotland.

Damnloginpopup · 22/04/2021 01:19

Laos, maybe this winter. Had to cancel last march, due to fly the day after the FO said no non essential travel.

Thanks for still not refunding me edreams.

Kapalika · 22/04/2021 02:32

Thailand late 2022.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/04/2021 05:36

2022 for us now. Bahamas, Greece and the Canaries. Everything crossed!

This year we are holidaying in the UK and hoping to get to Butlins, London for a city break and Norfolk for a beach break.

gollymissdolly · 22/04/2021 05:45

Going to Wales in September.

Alfaix · 22/04/2021 06:06

Hoping to go somewhere in July, ideally sunny! Anywhere that’s on the Green list, will arrange end of June.
Hoping for a week in the Canaries in October.

MinnieMountain · 22/04/2021 06:11

Funnily enough I’d like to take DS to Munich in October. I’ve not booked it yet though as I’m not sure.

We really want to go to Switzerland next year.

This year is Norfolk (carried over) and Pembrokeshire.

Heartofstrings · 22/04/2021 06:13

I have small aspirations this year. I hope to take my boys camping in the UK for the first time. I can't wait as I have such amazing memories of camping as a child

tinytemper66 · 22/04/2021 06:20

Tui cancelled my August holiday to Italy last week. I moved it again (already moved it from last year and was booked in 2019) to next year.
So I won't be going abroad now sadly. Will do a few trips to London to see family etc

Mammymar · 22/04/2021 06:25

I won't be travelling abroad this year but hopefully next year. Can't wait to return to Lake Como in April, Spain in July and August and a couple of mini breaks in Liverpool and Prague. Happy to stay local this year.

grannycake · 22/04/2021 06:27

We have a motorhome. Weekends in Wales (close to home) and hoping for trip to Netherlands/Denmark in September. If not then Scotland in September instead

Allthingspeaches · 22/04/2021 06:28

Thailand in spring 22 for my sister's 30th hopefully!

I'd love a few days on Lake Como. We were there Jan 20 and fell in love.

Silverfly · 22/04/2021 06:29

We've booked Cornwall in July. Hoping to go skiing in France next winter but not booked yet.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 22/04/2021 06:32

We will have having 3 trips (hopefully) to Scotland this year. We usually go twice and abroad once. Hopefully next year we will get abroad, I'd love to have a beach holiday in the Caribbean or Balearics depending how open the world is by then. Also considering Italy or a scandi city.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 22/04/2021 06:41

I live in Northern California and have booked to go to Hawaii early June. They have very low covid, testing 72 hours before flight and upon arrival and 10 day quarantine if positive. Dh and I will be fully vaccinated. Still scared of the flight (5.5 hours) and the hotel experience because so far we have been nowhere. I haven't been in a shop since last year!

Praying I can come to UK in the fall. In utterly desperate to see family and friends. It feels like a physical ache. I do hope vaccine passports are adopted internationally.

Mammymar · 22/04/2021 07:07

@Allthingspeaches,myself and DH have talked about Thailand, would love to see it.

We went to Lake Como in April 2019, absolutely stunning place.
