Inspired by another thread by HensTeeth44, here is a thread for lovers of fan fiction either writer or just an avid reader.

I do have some unfinished Harry Potter fan fic to share but I'm at working at the moment.

@bunglebee Sam/Bucky has dragged me back into fanfic having not really read or written any for years. Back in the day I was all about Merlin, History Boys, Inception, and The Social Network.

We don't have to make a derail of it - but Mycroft's assumption, and deadly serious question to John when he moves in, is that he and Sherlock are romantically and sexually involved. And he's as good at reading people as Sherlock and "never wrong". Angelo also thinks that Sherlock coming into a restaurant with another man indicates he's on a date. It's played for laughs and John's discomfort, but everyone in Sherlock's life (except poor deluded Molly) believes he's interested in men. His "I consider myself married to my work" could be read as "I'm ace", but Magnusson's database on him indicates that he isn't.

If Sherlock was ever to be sexually attracted to a person I imagine the attraction would be to their mind rather than their body - he wouldn't be that fussed for the packaging.

I can well imagine people like Mrs. Hudson and Angelo assume that because they never see him with women therefore he must prefer men... but they never actually see him with men either. Not romantically.

Most of the time he shows zero sexual attraction to anybody - so if he is repressing that side (as opposed to it just not existing) there is no more evidence for him being gay and repressing that than there is for him being straight. Because it doesn't matter what other people think when it comes to his sexual orientation - it matters who he is attracted to.

And the only person he shows any sexual attraction to is Irene Adler.

I can recommend some excellent Steve/Bucky fics on ao3 if anyone is interested. I'm not generally into slash but some of these were just amazing.

I recently wrote a short Bucky TFATWS one-shot based on the therapy session in episode one. I find the Bucky Barnes and Winter Soldier character really fascinating.

There's one SPN fic where the two main characters are lettuces in a fridge!

Lots of BDSM stuff too, turns out I'm very vanilla and just want to read about two hot guys falling in love and doing it in a fairly straightforward fashion!

Luckily I haven't seen any Vore stuff, there is a lot of incest stuff on there though, another reason to check the tags.

There's currently a sex expert on Tumblr giving advice to writers to make their sex scenes more realistic. My favourite bit fo far was when she advised that if you really licked the front of someone's teeth it probably wouldn't feel that sexy for either person.

There's lots of fan madness about the possibility of a reboot with the original cast where we'd get to see them together. Probably never happen but it's a nice thought.

Wait - so is Bucky Barnes the winter soldier? Or is somebody else the winter soldier? And if so - who is the winter soldier? I see so much stuff about it and am mystified by all of it.

I'm so amused that someone would need telling that.

I'm massively vanilla too - I read a Spike/ Angel fic once through my fingers - Spike had covered himself in icing and had a champagne enema and then presented himself on a dinner plate for Angel's delectation. Which included removing the cork and drinking the champagne.

I was just - beside myself - why does this exist? How is it sexy? Grin

It wasn't just any icing it was M and S icing it was piped on in delicate whorls and beautiful flowers and poor Angel didn't know where to start with the licking. Plus there was whipped cream and strawberries - natch.

Sometimes reading them I just start worrying about the mess they're making, or the morality of public sex and possibly getting caught/involving unwitting people in their foreplay. Then I remember it's fiction and go and have a cup of tea.

I may never drink champagne again, it at least not without thinking of Spike.
