My mum reckons most people will be watching BBC. What are you watching? BBC for me and my mum (separate homes)

@bentleydrummle

What was the hymn between I vow to thee my country and Jerusalem?
Think it was a piece of music called The Greatest Sacrifice?
Embroideredstars · 17/04/2021 14:38

BBC

Mycomfyplacetochill · 17/04/2021 14:39

BBC, always BBC

LudoBear · 17/04/2021 14:39

@Kittytheteapot

The music gets me too. I vow to the my country......woah!

I remember going to my aunt by marriage's funeral. No real connection to her, no great sense of loss when she died. I was dry eyed throughout the funeral, until they played her choice of song to finish: Somewhere over the rainbow. Well, I became a blubbering wreck, and haven't been able to hear that song since without crying.

The bowed heads is really moving too, isn't it?

I went to a boyfriend's nans funeral.. never met her. I was in bits when they played robbie Williams angels and then somewhere over rainbow as we walked out.

Sodding hell. That's me in tears . It's all so beautiful. What a year 💐

megletthesecond · 17/04/2021 14:39

house this is just the warm up compared to The Queen isn't it.

I hope they don't faint in the sun.

ScienceSensibility · 17/04/2021 14:39

Sorry for my poor description but does anyone know the symbolism behind the sailors doing that crooked arm thing?

HouseofWindsor · 17/04/2021 14:39

Both my parents have passed.

Waiting fir the coffins to arrive outside the house was awful. It brought the final dawning they had gone.

I was shaking like a leaf.

This is so very sad despite his age.

namechangedyetagain · 17/04/2021 14:39

I'm not sure what would have been planned had it been in normal times but from what I've seen of documentaries in the last week or so it seems very fitting indeed. Kind of stately but still very personal.

Kittytheteapot · 17/04/2021 14:43

I can't imagine the enormity of the Queen dying. I am trying to hold it together here because I am with dh and it would feel ridiculous to cry for an old man I neither knew nor met, but i won't be able to hold it together for the Queen.

Ellmau · 17/04/2021 14:43

BBC, actually via News 24.

Ilikewinter · 17/04/2021 14:44

Sat here on edge thinking please don't fall down that step or mess up purting the coffin on the land rover.....wow the pressure on those men 😥

mosgirl · 17/04/2021 14:46

It's so moving. My heart is breaking for the Queen.

Dumakey · 17/04/2021 14:47
