My mum reckons most people will be watching BBC. What are you watching? BBC for me and my mum (separate homes)

TokyoSushi · 17/04/2021 14:19

I always watch things like this on BBC

ElinoristhenewEnid · 17/04/2021 14:19

@eddiemairswife. Thanks for the tip about red button and no commentary - much better.

MillieMollieMandi · 17/04/2021 14:19

BBC

Hellocatshome · 17/04/2021 14:21

BBC, I quite like the commentary so I understand who the different groups of soldiers etc are. I found his ponies being there quite emotional.

Wowthisisreal · 17/04/2021 14:21

Of course the BBC!

ScienceSensibility · 17/04/2021 14:22

Thank you HouseofWindsor

Tissues on standby here too, it will be the music that gets me, always does.

The soldiers standing stock still on the green for how long now? Fantastic.

The funeral is somehow conflated in my mind with all those who have died due to covid. I think HM The Queen has shown a fantastic example by sticking to the rule of 30.

namechangedyetagain · 17/04/2021 14:25

BBC.

Finding it very sad and really feeling for the Queen. No matter what people think, they've lost a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. And going through that recently myself my heart goes out to them.

HouseofWindsor · 17/04/2021 14:27

Bugger ...i vow to thee my country !

Tissues.

PiccallilliCircus · 17/04/2021 14:27

megletthesecond · 17/04/2021 14:30

BBC.
I can't look at the horses or Defender without welling up. and I'm a fully paid up leftie.

Tullyjune · 17/04/2021 14:32

Oh this has choked me up a lot more than I was expecting.

namechangedyetagain · 17/04/2021 14:32

Welling up now at the hymn and the land roverSad

HouseofWindsor · 17/04/2021 14:32

We Brits know how to do this.

Bloody hell.

Thinking of HM

Tullyjune · 17/04/2021 14:32

And BBC

Arrowheart · 17/04/2021 14:32

This is beautiful and his choice of music is wonderful. What a lovely send off.

Kittytheteapot · 17/04/2021 14:34

The music gets me too. I vow to the my country......woah!

I remember going to my aunt by marriage's funeral. No real connection to her, no great sense of loss when she died. I was dry eyed throughout the funeral, until they played her choice of song to finish: Somewhere over the rainbow. Well, I became a blubbering wreck, and haven't been able to hear that song since without crying.

The bowed heads is really moving too, isn't it?

bentleydrummle · 17/04/2021 14:34

What was the hymn between I vow to thee my country and Jerusalem?

Pyewackect · 17/04/2021 14:34

BBC

Cactus1982 · 17/04/2021 14:35

Surely no one would ever actually chose ITV’s coverage of anything over the BBC?

mosgirl · 17/04/2021 14:35

BBC

Solo · 17/04/2021 14:36

BBC. The natural choice, surely?

I've been crying again all morning. In fact all week on and off...I'm not sure why, but I did love Prince Philip, it's a great loss.
